  1. Maybe i'm a little grumpy because I haven't had my coffee yet, but I'm reminded of some good advice my dad gave me long time ago. He said "let your play do the talking for you". Mt. Juliet seems to do a lot of bragging. True, they may be able to back it up now, but tables will turn one day and they'll be eating crow. There is still good competition in Wilson County... the mighty Wildcats from Wilson Central are catching up fast!! Meow.
  2. Well tell us about the game since you were there. Who won?
  3. Ah, some comedians on here. Very funny. Go ahead and take your cheap shots at Sumner County and all the teams in it. No doubt, Wilson County teams have had a great run, but it runs in cycles and eventually, you'll have a "down" year. As for us, we're not hanging our head, we love the game and we'll see you down the road.
  4. Mailman, any comments on last night's action?
  5. Hendersonville in district 9AAA They have lost to Smyrna by 2, Wilson Central by 2 in OT, and by 4 to Riverdale and all three of those teams are in top 10 in the midstate
  6. Of course he's got more talent. Since Smyrna has replaced Shelbyville as the "relocation destination "of choice, he's gained 3 players who are eligible this year. Hey, that philosophy worked for Insell for years, so why not? I mean, who wouldn't want to move to Smyrna?
  7. Tremendous high school basketball game.. I'll bet we see these two match up again in the post-season. Beech was vastly outsized (their tallest man maybe 6'3) and also without their starting post man last night. What a fun bunch to watch, who play good old fashioned fundamental basketball. Great shooting and passing, and their 1-3-1 version will cause some problems for teams. They gave siegel all they wanted, that's for sure.
  8. Gone into overtime Great game, Beech has held small lead most of the way in spite of big size disadvantage Game has gone into overtime Beech has held small lead most of the way, in spite of big size disadvantage
  9. A great performance by Hendersonville's Josh Johnson tonight, including a monster dunk!
  10. Wow, pdbmit, you don't watch much girls basketball do you? If you think Gallatin is going to beat JP2, and that Station Camp is going to beat Hendersonville, you're either joking or you really have no idea what you're talking about.
  11. I have to disagree with "Mt. J and Beyond"s post. I think this year with the progress of Tierney Jenkins and the addition of the big post, Wilson Central will fight it out with Smyrna for District 9 AAA. Mt. Juliet will still have a very good team, but I would doubt they'll go 3 for 4 over WC.
  12. Great articles in today's Hendersonville Star News about the Lady Knights. This should be the year to bring home a championship. Good luck to all!
  13. I heard there's been lots of squabbling among the Pope JPII team this season, egos clashing, etc. Any truth to the rumors?
  14. Hendersonville scored all 3 goals in the second half, I believe. They had several more good kicks in the first half that were stopped by the Smyrna goalie. Smyrna's offense never seemed to get on track, but their goalie really stepped up.
  15. I see this one as a close one, just because of the cross-town rivalry. There is no love lost between them.
  16. Well, good job by the Commandos to go to Franklin's home field and end up with a tie. The season has started off a little rocky for Hendersonville, but I think they'll be there at the end. Anyway, when these two play, there's gonna be a battle.
  17. You are on the money with that statement. Some people forget they play football in other counties besides Rutherford (especially) and Williamson.
  18. Geez, Greg141... lighten up a little bit. Why the constant criticism of Hendersonville? The "handoff high school" bit is getting old.
  19. Rocky's a tough kid. I'd bet on him playing.
  20. Disappointing (and surprising) loss for the Commandos, but Coach Hatfield and his team will regroup and come back fighting next week.
  21. ptguard12, what can you tell us about boo williams and your opinion of top 16 participants from TN overall?
  22. Congratulations to TSSAA for finally getting it right. Murfreesboro is centrally located and has good facilities. Although there may be a few bumps in the road next year, I predict it will all work out for the best.
  23. . I think it will come down to Lowder and Daniel Kelly. Kelly would get my vote- very impressive (especially since he's only a sophmore).
