  1. They will be about the opposite of what they were going into this year. This year the strengths were defensive backs, running back, wide receiver, tight end (until Neon got hurt). The underclassmen linemen on both sides have gotten good experience, the linebackers will be solid. If Prince can step up at QB and Ramsey (or Buccanan or whomever) at running back they will probably be better on offense than they were this year (of course that's not saying a lot). I believe the most difficult replacements next year will be in the defensive backfield. That's one opinion.
  2. From Lincoln County I would put: Josh Gregory, rb Arrington Bryson, cb, wr L.T. Williams, ol Lane Jackson, safety, fullback They led the team all year on both sides of the ball.
  3. No. The Lincoln County - Blackman score was 25-21. It was Lincoln County v. Franklin County that ended 2-0.
  4. Congratulations to Cookeville on a good win. It was close and hard fought throughout but the Cavaliers showed themselves to be the class of the region. We (Lincoln County) just made too many mistakes and the Cavaliers knew how to take advantage of them.
  5. The defense is that good. I don't know a lot about Cookeville. I know that our two losses came to two of the top four teams in the state. That level of competition does make a difference. The offense does have to start showing something for us to really be in contention in this game. To be honest, this is not a state challenging year for us but we are getting better and can contend with anyone in our region. Beyond that will require a large step beyond where we are now.
  6. This was not a pretty game. Franklin County drove all the way down the field on the first position but it ended with a fake field goal attempt that was stuffed by Lane Jackson. Lincoln County followed with a good drive but Buchannan fumbled into the endzone after a great run. That was followed by a three and out but the snap to the punter went over the punter's head and he was tackled in the endzone for what proved to be the only points of the night. Both teams had turnovers and were somewhat ineffective on offense. Franklin County had 0-10 passing although the receivers often dropped wide-open passes. In the final minutes of the fourth quarter, Franklin County drove down the the Lincoln County 21. The field goal attempt with 46 seconds left was blocked by Lane Jackson.
  7. To rhshasbeen 66, #29, Julius Kelso was a senior last year. He played recently in the East-West Shrine game. Yes, he could really play. We'll definitely miss him.
  8. Julius Kelso was a senior LAST year. Certainly gives credence to the rankings.
  9. Its obvious that Lincoln County lost most of the power from last year's team. The scrimmage was filled with mistakes, the most glaring being by back-up running backs and back-up defensive backs. The Falcons will do well to win 5 games this fall.
