Yes, conrats to Coffee Co. Shelbyville held their own last night. They had the lead until the bottom of the 7th inning. You could see the fear and frustration on Terry's face that a last place team might upset the first place team. Shelbyville has struggled all year with issues that were beyond the girls' control. We are proud of our girls. They are a talented bunch and let frustration hold them back this season. We hope next year is filled with hope for a better season. Keep your heads high girls.

Where are these teams located? Do you have to try out? I have a 16 year old that would like to play some travel ball. She's a good ball player and has talent. Just wondering. There is not a travel team from our town in her age group.

Thank you for being positive for a change. You are right. Our progam has come a long way and can only get better. I am hoping for a good close game tonight. All of the ugliness that has come out of this post does nothing but down grade the girls. There are a bunch of great girls on both teams. Good luck to them both!

That is fine. We know it was a missed call and not an obvious slight toward Shelbyville. No one ever accused anyone of that. It was a missed call that changed the possible outcome of the game. The majority of us have faith in our umpires and we know they will call a fair game against both teams tonight. Some of us just seem to have better luck than others. Good luck to both teams.

Chalk away. That was so long ago I don't even care anymore. It wouldn't change your opinion of what happened. I saw what I thought were calls that could have gone our way and did not. Story of our lives. Interpretation is in the eye of the beholder. You have yours and the rest of us will have ours. We could spar back and forth for the next 100 years and nothing would change. By the way, humor at the expense of others is not what I call humor.

After reading all of the comments started yesterday, I have come to the conclusion that most people feel strongly about what they see to be right. That's fine and I appreciate other insights. I have also come to the conclusion that The Flash has to be the most sarcastic individual I know. People have a right to state what they believe to be right, and every time you come back with some slathing remark. This column was not started to dog any person, but to vent about a game changing call. Unfortunately it has now become an avenue for some to make fun of others. So sad!

I know it's hard to umpire a game and even the best make errors. It just gets under my skin when the majority of the calls that are questionable are against us and not our opponents. Most umpires do a great job and I don't envy the slack they have to put up with. Just once I would like to see a call go in our favor. If it does I will sure comment about it too. Oh by the way, you want me to get over it because you guys came out on top because of it. I am sure that if it had not happened, you would be singing a different story. And I am over it. You're right lineit. It's not fair to the girls that work so hard to have a game come down to a bad call. One of these days the calls are going to fall our way for a change and look out. Shelbyville will be a force to be reckoned with. District 8 is not all about 1 or 2 teams.

Once again, Shelbyville Eaglelettes suffer a tough loss against Coffee Co. after a questionable call by an official. You know it's questionable when even the Coffee Co. fans say the call was wrong. Why do some of the calls always seem to go one way? Both teams played hard. Shelbyville had some hard hit balls down 3rd base that kept that player out of sorts. It's a shame when the final score comes down to a questionable call. Shelbyville girls are working hard and it won't be too long before the calls start falling their way. Keep up the good work!

Hey Lineit, You beat me to the punch. You're right though. Those Shelbyville girls are really coming into their own. They have great chemistry and have really started hitting the ball. Keep up the good work and let's get victories 4 and 5 next week.
