Irish... I have also heard about the injuries mounting up over at West End. I know that Snyder got injured, but not sure about who else. By the way, for those of you that hadn't heard already, Coltharp tore his MCL and ACL. 7059... Friday is shaping up to be huge. I am very anxious, and I won't even see any playing time. I just can't wait to see how it shapes up, though I'm guessing that BA will come out slow, then snap awake and take control of the game midway through the first, with Centennial making some late heroics, but BA holding on for a 12 point win. That's my call, but can't wait to see the game.

7059... I am really looking forward to the Centennial game this year. From what I hear they have some great players, and will really be a good test early on in the season. We scrimmage Beech tomorrow, so don't forget about them. Not really sure what the scouting report is on them, so if anyone has info, that would be fantastic. WesVols, do you know what Holbert's number is this year?

jek, although I am severely biased towards the BA way, I would like to think that it was an off day, but you know what they say: "What doesn't kill you makes you better". Also, I have not heard any details along the lines of Coltharps injury.

Her name is Emily hasbeen. Anyway, we scrimmaged Blackman and Stratford today, and I think we looked a little sloppy at best. It looked like we just didn't show up to play today. Also, freshman Coltharp dislocated his kneecap while playing, but besides that, no serious injuries. Any comments?

"It seems that when someone takes a different view point to a decision that everyone who writes about high school football in Tennessee has questioned you can't handle it." - B.A. Always B.A. Always, it seems to me that it is not everyone else who can't handle voicing different opinions, but you instead. I do not mind at all your view points and opinions, but it seems that you are a little too overly enthusiastic about them. Whenever somebody has offered an opinion other than yours, you have questioned their sanity and logic, and I think I speak for most here when I ask you to chillax.

I couldn't agree more with you Mase. And I really do hope B.A. Always tells us who he is instead of hiding behind a fake name to share his opinions.

B.A. Always, for having such a pro-BA name, you sure are pretty negative concerning the team. "Lack of a passing game"? I mean, the kicking game doesn't quite have it's feet under it yet, I'll give you that, but to say that we don't have a passing game? Also I think you mis-interpreted WatchThis' comment on playing Tyler at TB. He was suggesting a position where T-Griff's "ability, mobility, experience, and leadership" would be used to it's fullest potential. Maybe you should wait until a bit later in the season to be so harsh.

Who is long snapping this year? It was Larry Brooks' job to lose, but now Josh Butler has stepped up. Any speculations?
  11. bigwes, there really isn't anything like Memphis in May, or the Rondezvous, for that matter, but in football talk Middle is BEST. No more comments, end of discussion

Good choice. I think Blount is a very underrated player, but will his nagging knee injuries affect conditioning and skill?

Here's a decent question which hopefully will spark some debate: Who is the most under-rated player coming into the season?

This is shaping up to be an exciting year for BA (translation: This thread needs to stay up at the front page)

I wouldn't bother too much with the details, as it is, even the slowest time is still insane for a freshman. Who will be handling the return duties?

I happened to be at the lone Oak game last year, and lets just say that the starters left at half time. It was a total wipe out. It's not shaping up to be a huge game. I think their QB also was their kicker and punter. not a very deep team.

Well, there is Daniel Lewis, a lineman whose skills are often underestimated due to the strength and depth of Brentwood Academy's team. There is also Chris Benton, a cross-over tennis player whose untapped resources might be just the thing that BA needs. Overall, there are plenty of people to fill any holes in the line.

Looks like a pretty solid line up to me, except I like Barry Turner at FB and Ralls at TE.

Varn beat out Baker at the end of the season last year, and the job is pretty much up for grabs. There are two newcomers: Clay Boring and Philip Masters, just more variables in a complex situation. It'll be hard to replace Palmer, he was just a good kicker, but, knowing BA's depth, it will be done.

But what about BA's kicking game? They lost Hunter Palmer to graduation last year, and will have trouble living up to the legacy left by John Vaughn and Kody Bliss. Who will step up?
  21. Corbin Walker from BA gets my vote. Doesn't have great stats, but that's because of a defense riddled with injuries. He's had some off games this year that I have seen, but is a fundamentally sound keeper.
  22. Brentwood Academy won last year, and considering the number of seniors they lost from last year (somewhere in the neighborhood of one, correct me if I'm wrong), barring injury, they have a repeat at hand.
  23. how close were the other times?
  24. I think everyone is just as surprised as you. I know that I am shocked at the fact that all of these upsets happened so fast. It looks to be an interesting finish to what many thought to be a predictable tournament.
  25. This is stunning. That's all I can say. Props to USN for surprising everyone!
