milan might should stop focusing on things in the past and start concentrating on the near future, like tonights game with the mustangs. lose this one and the season is in trouble. the mustangs are limping into tonights action at 3-3 and are in desperate need of a big win. dont overlook them.

the best team in west tenn outside of memphis is going to be covington. they have a dominate pitcher, a div 1 shortstop, and a senior heavy roster with valuable experience. while mathis and delashmit are wonderful talents, covington also has several good arms, team speed, and power. also look for joe freeman to have an impact after not playing last year.

would it make everyone happy if they mailed every team a state championship trophy at the end of the season. if you get rid of all the private schools and your school still does not win it all, i wonder what the new excuse will be. if you want to compete go out and practice instead of complaining on coacht. hard work will get you a long ways.

covington and ripley will be great challenges for usj. milan, dyersburg and dyer co will also be strong region opponents. another run to the state will be hard fought.

with most of the private schools out, who is the favorite to win it all in 06??

please keep in mind that usj is learning to play without hunter garrett their center fielder. he is one of the best players in west tenn. take a player of that caliber off any team and it will take time to adjust. a tough win over liberty and adamsville shows that the usj knows how to win while dealing with adversity. get well soon hunter.

usj will have a tough time competing in 2a next year without a doubt. however the reason for thier struggles will be lack of talent. usj's team of this year or any of the teams during the payne, deloach, faye, sheffield, cook, warren, and metcalf era could compete if not dominate any of the above mentioned schools. usj is going to be down for a couple of years but just wait, they will be back. talent always goes in cycles and coach marley is one of the best in the state.

in west tenn A look for the sophomore from usj to have an impressive year if the quarterback remains healthy.
