  1. Gates will open at 3:30 but a sell-out is highly unlikely so you should be good, your seat may suck, but at least you'll be in the building.
  2. Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse for Giles County, they get their annual drubbing at the hands of Marshall County. Any time a team takes the lead on Giles County, the players faces just frown and instantly think the game is over. You have DeAngelo tossing his helmet and asking to be taken out of the game and the worst statistical defense (I'm almost positive) EVER at Giles County. I'm not sure what the bigger problem is - Johnson whining and being selfish or the defense. The sad thing is, no matter how much he complains Johnson still gets the rock every game. Things have gotten very bad @ Giles County - Pulaski needs basketball season to start and in a hurry.
  3. Giles County better come ready to play, same for Lewis County. Heavy rains are expected this weekend so best of luck and hope for an injury-free team.
  4. You don't punch players in the stomach in football, son. But, I'm sure that loss feels worse than any kind of punch in the stomach would, since #50 is a senior and all.
  5. Giles County's line will manhandle Richland. GCHS - 34 RHS - 10
  6. GCHS wins the season series over arch rival Richland. They beat them 2-1 last week and 3-1 today @ the GCHS field.
  7. I like Giles County to win by 3 touchdowns and MAYBE just MAYBE get some momentum and keep these wins coming.
  8. Giles County better get their act together or they may be staring a 0-10 season in the face.
  9. Only so many losses can be blamed on the players, when will Giles County realize something must be done about the coaching situation? They took a step in the right direction in bring back Coach Anderson, Coach Haislip and hiring Coach Wilkerson, but I think something must be done about Coach Young and maybe even Coach Smith. Not knocking either coach as I'm sure they were excellent in their prime, but a different style of football is being played today versus 20 years ago, maybe even 10 years ago. Would it be too much for GCHS to consider hiring someone like Coach Fuller or Coach Coffey from Bridgeforth to come and help out? A little enthuisiasm goes a long way folks.
  10. DeAngelo had like 20 some carries for 134 yards against Lawrenceburg with 1 TD. He will run well against Page this week, I have a feeling.
  11. One game does not a season make. Give the young lads time.
  12. Wow. That was a total shock. I should have known LCHS would be ready to play, but I wasn't expecting GCHS to come out so flat. I took LCHS for granted and they showed up ready to play. Bright spots for GCHS were Jamie Campbell, BJ Englett, DeAngelo Johnson, Carson Edgmon and Charlie Brown.
  13. Congrats to Richland. Way to fight.
  14. Let's get those predictions in for the Cowbell game tomorrow. Both teams can throw their records out the window for this one (albeit it only one team has actually played a game). GC - 24 LC - 14
  15. Nah, I'm not. What do you play for LCHS or something?
  16. I figured Lawrence County would come out gunning for Columbia, being a region game and all. Columbia looked extremely fast, especially their RB. #34 on Lawrence Co took some super licks, at one point having to come out of the game (on the TD just before half-time). Any word on #51's ankle(?) injury? He was down about mid-way thru the 2nd quarter and looked like he was in some real pain.
  17. Regardless, it will be a beating for the ages if that same LCHS team shows up again this Friday.
  18. I am in disbelief as I stare at the scoreboard. As a Giles County fan me and about 9 other friends of mine went to the CCHS/LCHS game tonight for a bit of "scouting" on the LCHS football team and from what I saw in the first half they looked bad. I'm not sure what the deal is but they didn't have their decals on their helmets or real jerseys on, it looked like they were dressed for a scrimmage not the season opener, let alone a region game! #51 and #34 took serious licks, especially #34. He got his bell rung at least two times that I saw. Lawrence Co will have a height advantage most likely over GCHS but they looked EXTREMELY slow. (Or maybe CCHS was just that fast)? Either way, LCHS is staring another 55-0 loss square in the face if they bring that atroscious play on the 27th.
  19. I'm not so sure Lawrence County has a scrap of pride left after tonight's loss. A region loss such as that one can be EXTREMELY demoralizing. Me and a few of my buddies went to the game (GCHS football players) and the fans were too worried about us and not worried enough about getting creamed by CCHS. Why did Lawrence Co wear practice uniforms? This game counts does it not?
  20. Giles County beat Tullahoma August 13th 19-10. The first strings played pretty much until about 2-3 minutes remained in the fourth quarter. Giles County will surprise some teams.
  21. Tullahoma didn't look bad on offense and not particularly bad on defense. They just had some bad breaks and GCHS caught some good ones. DeAngelo finished with 2 TD's and probably 180 yds rushing. Not bad. He is in line for a possible 2,000 yard season.
  22. I think GCHS has the talent and possibly the coaching to do great things, but they have never had the proper ATTITUDE. This year things have changed and there is nothing but positive and loving energy coming from this year's team. There are no cliques or favorites. And any coach will tell you that a unit who knows how to play as a team can be more deadly than all the talent in the world if they can't play together.
  23. Sam Edgmon, Giles County High School - Class of 2007. A great backup, but only because we have DeAngelo.
  24. How do both of these squads look this year? I'm headed to Columbia to see the game on Friday and should be catching the second half of the Richland/Ardmore game. Hope to see some great Week 0 action.
