  1. Y'all know in a rivalry like this one, you throw out all the talk about talent, size, speed, etc. You boys from Adams may have the better team, but that DOESN'T mean you're gonna win. Let's Go Indians!
  2. I drove through Greenbrier earlier this evening and checked out that new stadium. Man, now that is gonna be a whopper! All three sections (which go all the way across the field) are twice as big as the current home side (16 rows vs. 8 rows). And then they have 8 more rows going up in the middle section. And do they ever have the sponsorships going! I remember just a few years ago when only about one fourth of the fenceline was covered with sponsors. Now, they have them going almost all the way around and about 8 more on the new scoreboard. Guess that's how they're payin' for that new stadium. Good job, Bobcats! Look forward to visiting during Jr. Pro after y'all finish it up.
  3. Yeah, should be a good one as usual. Our boys love getting this game right off the bat to start the season off. A win here could propel the Indians toward a playoff spot in that super tough region we're in!
  4. I'd love to tell you a great scouting report on the Indians, but then I'd have to kill ya....TOP SECRET and all, ya know!
  5. Good luck Red Devils......EXCEPT in Week 1. Looking forward to y'all coming in to Cross Plains...maybe the Indians can reverse that losing trend to the Devils.
  6. I hate to rain on the Jo Byrns parade, but this is not your year. I work with a couple of the parents and they are saying that this group is not as strong as the last couple of years. Definitely playoff worthy, but won't contend for state.
  7. MO$$$$, You and I are definitely talking about different products. My apologies for the "ignorant" comment. The product my son took was just plain creatine and didn't have any of those warnings like "could cause death" or "not for under 18". Never heard of No Explode, but sounds like I wouldn't have let him take that one. The reason I reacted so is that some around my area gave me a hard time for letting him take creatine and the protein shakes. They did so out of ignorance and fearing what they didn't know. I would NEVER have allowed him to take a product that warned of death and not for anyone under 18. So, again, we are obviously talking about different products. There are some out there that are safe. Oh, FYI, my doctor was middle of the road about the stuff. He stressed about the dehydration possibility, to follow the directions, and to not take during the season. He wasn't crazy about it, but he said there was nothing bad if taken properly and with PLENTY of water!
  8. You don't mention which supplement your son was "sneaking", but it sounds as if you are talking about creatine. As with all things you buy that you are unfamiliar with, you should read the label and do your research. When my son started asking about creatine and protein shakes 4-5 years ago I was hesitant, but researched the products and talked to our doctor. The bottom line from my research was that as long as you took the product exactly as prescribed on the container, you would have no problem. Plus, NEVER take it during the season because of the heavy workouts. So, I allowed my son to take the creatine and protein under my supervision during the offseason. It had MAJOR benefits for him and he suffered no ill side-affects while taking it for three years. You say they are "try(ing) to gain muscle the easy way." That is a statement of ignorance and being scared of what you don't understand. The reason creatine had major benefits for him was that it allowed him to work out MORE and HARDER! He didn't work less to gain his strength. I can't tell you how many times I didn't want to work out during high school just because I was still hurting so bad from my previous workouts. So, my lifting was inconsistant. My son was able to workout longer and harder than his peers. What is "easy" about LONGER and HARDER workouts??? Less painful, YES!!! Easier, NO! Your coach is just like MO$$$$ above, talking out of ignorance and scared of what he doesn't understand. Yes, the creatine can lead to dehydration. I discovered that in my research. That is why he would NEVER let my son take creatine during the season or hot summer workouts. I also discovered that all of the cases where kids passed out from dehydration, they were overdosing the stuff and NOT following the directions on the label. A lot of them were also using while doing high intensity workouts in the heat. Also, you better watch out with that Peanut Butter sandwich. You never know what third world country (or China) some of the ingredients come from. Could have something bad in it which will kill several people and lead to a massive recall. I think that DID actually happen just a few months ago. And some of you are worried about what is in the supplements! Instead of being scared and ignorant, get the WHOLE TRUTH....not just the good or bad parts.
  9. You guys at Sycamore think the sun rises and falls with Garza. Aint no denying he is great, but he aint the best. He is more of a great athelete than a great quarterback.
  10. Carlos Hudson is back baby, and he is ready to run, run, run. I expect that he will lead my ER boys to at least one upset win this year!
  11. Don't know anything about who may be QB'n the Bobcats. But, Krisle did take Dickerson's place at Center last year when he got banged up.
  12. What about my man, Carlos Hudson from East Robertson? He had over 1300 yds last year without even bein in the playoffs.
  13. Shoot, you know Coach Porter is gonna have those boys ready to play. The only question is how far will they go in the playoffs?
  14. My favorite is Lincoln Co.'s THE PIT. Marshall Co.'s THE JUNGLE is a close second.
  15. Well put Sumnerfbfan. I don't think anyone from Greenbrier would be offended by your comment at all. I and my Greenbrier friends were not only surprised that Greenbrier beat Beech last year, but shocked at how they totally dominated a 5A team. You are exactly right, if Beech is to be considered a GOOD 5A team, then they have to beat Greenbrier, no matter how good Greenbrier is. I just don't think Beech can go into the Cats' Den and pull out the W.
  16. Scrappy, Do ya still think of Creek Wood as a sleeper now that their head coach jumped to Dickson Co.?
  17. Nope....it was #57, Dustin Cole who took his head off. He led Greenbrier in sacks last year even tho he didn't start. He's also forced the safety in the playoff game. Yeah, losing both Duncan Williams and Brian Richards is gonna hurt bad for the boys at Greenbrier, but they have another linebacker to take the place of Trevor Dickerson that's just as good. Dale Krisle. He played about half their games last year because Dickerson was injured a couple of times and the team never missed a beat. Cole will be better than Nick Browne was and Joey Stephens is returning as their other DE. And, their best defensive player may be 3d year starter Jacob Aldrich at CB......not to mention Mr. Football candidate Roger Herndon at Safety. All-in-all, their defense should be just as good as it was last year. But you are right about other teams having a heck of a time trying to stop that Sycamore O this year. I don't care how good Greenbrier's D is, they'll be lucky to stop Garza and Polk. Sycamore probably has the best chance to unseat the Bobcats this year. But, Garza still don't want none of #57! Just watch....he will have a HUGE year.
  18. Well said, CBarkley. But, you have to give the defending champs the edge since they are bringing back most of their starters.
  19. I think you have to give props to the kid from Northwest for best in the state, also......especially if he has another season this year like he did last year.
  20. Riverdale's to lose! Maybe they should be moved to Region 5 or 6 and get some competition?
  21. Has LA done anything other than lose in the first round of the playoffs lately? They haven't made it to the 2d round since 1998. They haven't made it to the 3d round since 1996. Yes, you have dominated Macon County in the past, but LA has no recent history to be bragging about!
  22. Yeah, but he don't want none of #57 from Greenbrier. I bet his head is still ringing from that hit last year! Word!
  23. I agree.....UT has a history of getting talented kids with no heart the last few years. That is not all there recruits....but a lot of them!
