  1. Does this mean the six way scrimmage set for saturday has been called off or will McCallie, Tyner, McMinn Co, and Powell still scrimmage on saturday?
  2. Does Central scrimmage Baylor on Saturday, if so when and where?
  3. The name pounders dates back to when Central was down on McCallie Avenue. The origional name was the purple warriors but was changed to the purple pounders because of the way they would pound the ball down the field on everyone. When the school moved to Harrison, the name came with them. Hey Guess who, they have done a little pounding over the last couple of years if you havent noticed. they have made the playoffs the last three years straight which is an improvement to what it was over the last 10-15 years. They have an excellant young coach and look forward to a great season this year, even a region championship. InDepthInsider is right, Bo Wiess is a big ol boy and so is Brent Hayes. Thier QB is a big boy also going about 6'3 210-215 lbs and can throw the ball well. The Defense should be awesome but the offense will have to come together and develope the QB and a new RB.
  4. I have to agree with Gradfromthenest on this one, Hayes(Central) McDade and Burke (ooltewah) can definatly lay the wood.
  5. Well Grad fromthenest, I was at practice today and Bo is definatly eligable. Not sure when his b-day is but he is not 19. i dont know what sources you seem to have but they must be smoking crack!
  6. 1. Boyd Buchannon 2. McCallie 3. Tyner 4. Soddy Daisy 5. Central 6. Hixson 7. Rhea Co. 8. Baylor 9. Ooltewah 10. Cleveland
  7. Centrals Defense will be tough this year as long as Hayes recovers from knee surgery. Weiss is a great lineman but the offense may struggle early untill they develope a new qb and rb. Despuax and Davenport will be hard to replace. I look for big things from Lorenzo Meadows and Robert Woods this year. I say look for the Pounders to be 8-2 or 7-3 this year. Probably second in region but with some breaks, contend for the region title.
  8. You will see the influx of tallent start heading up to Soddy Daisy just because of weathers. Daniels still has a lot to prove on the field. the players may love him and he may have a heck of a weight program, but it still takes athletes to win on the field and Red Bank does not have that at this time. I hope Red Bank does get back where they use to be. I remember when they were the most feared team in Chattanooga. Im not saying Daniels is a bad coach, he just doesnt have as many athletes as Red Bank use to have. He still has a lot to prove to me.
  9. Brent Hayes-Chattanooga Central All-State as a Sophmore. Would have led city in Tackles and probably would have been All-State as a junior if not for hurting his knee mid way through the season. If his knee is 100% should have a good chance at All-State this season.
  10. I think Soddy Daisy has some nice uniforms, the Navy and Gold looks great together, kind of like GA Tech. Ive always liked Riverdale's uniforms, Ooltewah also puts together a nice combo with red jerseys with silver pants silver helmets. Even though my team (Central) wears purple and gold in which i love the purple on purple. David Lipscomb purple and gold uni's are awful, especially thier pants!
  11. I think Oolteway wins due to the combination at running back they now have. The kid that transfered from McCallie is an absolute stud. He and Marcus Williams could be the best one two punch in the city. Ooltewah's QB situation should be fine as long as the two brothers work hard together. Not sure how the O-Line will be but the Defense should be pretty good. Is it me or does Red Bank seem to not be getting the athletes out to play like they use too? Im not sold on Tim Daniels as a coach yet. He has a lot to prove before im a believer. Ooltewah 28 Red Bank 7
  12. Fabry will not play football this season according to several players on Red Banks team...will concentrate on Baseball. i also think Cleveland will definatly be down do to losing levonte barber and the three players transfering to the military school in Atlanta. I think Hixson could be the surprise team in the region with Central and Rhea County right their with them.
  13. Things are pretty bright out in Harrison right now, they finally got a coach that knows what to do to get a winning team. I think Curt Jones is one of the brightest coaches in the Chattanooga area if not the state. Check out the off the field link on the front page, very good interview with Coach Jones that relates to how he has turned the program around. Central is lucky to have Coach Jones thier...I don't know how long he will be thier before some big time school in Middle TN or out of state grabs him.. I think he would have gotten the Soddy Daisy job if not for Tom Weathers.
  14. What do you mean a little too old. he is gonna be a senior this year. Why would you start a rumor like that. you must have gotten bad info... or is it that your from ooltewah?
  15. I think the mocs would be a great place for hayes. but i really think he will get some D1 offers. i think he can have his pick at D1AA teams. Great speed for a High school linebacker, but not SEC speed at LB. I think his future is at DL.
  16. Central did lose some key skill players but still should be solid, especially on defense. Brent Hayes will be fully recovered and be a big boost to the defense. Watch out for OL Bo Weiss, could turn out to be the best offensive lineman out of the chattanooga area this season. Lorenzo Meadows is a playmaker, look for him to be a playmaker for the pounders. If the Pounders can develope a new QB and RB, they could be dangerous. I think that the region race will be close, but I dont think cleveland will win the region!
  17. Russ, Hayes is about 6'1 or 6'2 about 245 lbs. he could put some weight on in the right college s/c program and move to dt.
  18. First of all, I think Brent Hayes is an excellant football player, but is he really a D1 prospect. My personal opinion of seeing him play is that if he is a D1 prospect, it is not at LB (not enough foot speed). I think he would be more suited for DT. I think he is more of a D1AA prospect. This is just my opinion and I do think he is one of the better players in the Chattanooga area? What do you all think?
  19. Central will win the region. Their defense will be very strong this year. Levonte Barber was all Cleveland had last year!
