  1. It has been posted. Let pandamonium reign. FB - Dresden High School (Dresden, TN) is seeking a Head Football Coach. Experience and success with the spread offense is most preferred but will consider other applicants also. If interested please forward resume which should include teaching certifications, coaching experience, and three references with contact information toby e-mail to Chuck West, Principal at westc2@k12tn.net . Resumes can also be faxed to (731) 364-5328 or mailed to Dresden High School; 7150 Hwy. 22; Dresden, TN 38225. Resumeï¾’s will be taken until March 14. (02/25/2014)
  2. That is simply not true. Why bring up last year? We're talking about this year. Liberty was the best team in Jackson last year. North side is this year. You obviously don't know because you didn't know about 7 on stuff like people in the know would. USJ is usually great at 7 on (its easy when you drop 8 on D every play) but got it handed to them some this year. Get off the rich guys' jocks. North Side by 21 or more, and yes, I would know.
  3. North side would beat USJ handily. I don't get people on here thinking USJ is so Good. They play in the alphabet soup league. They barely got past South Side, and watch what North Side does to South Side. I believe North Side would beat USJ by 3 TD's plus.
  4. I don't care how many times CC turned it over. JCM almost had 600 yards of offense. Chester should have scored more than they did, but so should JCM. JCM could have easily scored over 50. If the Cougars start playing defense, watch out.
  5. Jackson Central-Merry Academy of Medical Technology is seeking an assistant football coach. Possible Coordinator opportunity. Please send Resume to Head Coach Martez Edwards at coachmdedwards@yahoo.com
  6. You would, you obviously are him or know him very well. Had that account for all of 2 days. Gosh! Good luck Gibson with a kid at the helm!
  7. GC was this close to naming a great head coach. They got it down to 2 men, and then instead of picking the one with over a decade of coordinator experience including the college level, who is a great christian man with a family, they went with a 26 year old kid that did exactly what DB told him to do at Union City. Now is it a coincidence that the new coach married a girl from Gibson county??? I think not. The good ole boy system at its finest. It probably doesn't hurt that Harry Tignor is an old veer guy and Cruze is probably bringing DB's veer scheme with him. Oh well, close but no cigar.
  8. I know a guy that interviewed for the job. His initials are KG. He's an outstanding football coach and even a better guy. If he'll take the job, they would be crazy not to give it to him. He's been a coordinator at the junior college level, and been a high school d coordinator for the better part of a decade. If he can bring in some coaches, he could make them competitive if they drop to 2A.
  9. Not True! Read the Jackson Sun. JCM cleared. Haywood turned em in over sour grapes cause the kids quit on Calhoun. You'll see them on the field on friday! The ship is sinking in Haywood County!
  10. Yanker, I hope you make the game friday. There is lots of excitement at JCM about the program right now. Whole new staff. Not one holdover coach. 65+ kids on the team for the first time in years. Outstanding young talent. Don't know how many games they'll actually win, but it should be a lot better than recent years. Hopefully they'll put on a good show friday night. Thanks for reppin JCM!
  11. South Fulton may have a good offense, but they won't score many points against Greenfield. Chase McMullin is a tackling machine, and Chris McMullin is unblockable. The problem is Greenfield can't score too well either. It will be low scoring, that's for sure. I just don't know who scores enough to win. I say Greenfield 21-14.
  12. Haywood is the worst offensive coached team in the region and its not close. If some other coaches in the region had that talent you could mail them the state title. That belly play sure is genious. He got that off remember the Titans I think. I hope Haywood wins, because they aren't very good this year and that tells me exactly where Dyersburg is this season. Haywood struggled to beat JCM. JCM is horrible. Ask Southside!
  13. Stewart County hung half a hundred on Gleason, but only 3 scores on Greenfield. I think Greenfield outscores Gleason in this one. However Greenfield is pretty good defensively. I'll say Greenfield wins again 36-21. This is number two of another long streak of wins over Gleason for Greenfield because after this year Gleason's talent level returns to that of 90-02.
  14. I don't care who's students they were it was a zoo and Southside should be ashamed it happened on their campus. It would not have happened on our campus, but we aren't a Jackson school either. Maybe it is law enforcement that is to blame. How about JCM's defense? How terrible. That police officer looking dude they hired as a D coordinator must be an idiot. Anyway Catfish things are looking great were we are. Not overly athletic as you know, but we have over 80 kids out for football, and there is a bright future. I can't promise it will happen, but I think we will get the upset win this week. I believe we would win this game 70% of the time. I am excited about Friday though. How's the cubs looking? Take it easy on East tonight. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  15. The football games were great tonight. What wasn't great was the fights and "gang" looking activity that was going on behind the stands. What a jungle South Side has turned into. What coach in his right mind would want to be a part of that. I wouldn't let my wife and kids attend a game there. How embarrassing.
  16. And thanks for calling the hard working kids there now chicken poop. I know you wouldn't say that to either of the mcmullens. You have no room to call them that, because me and you both know how many times you and your brother strapped on a helmet for Greenfield high school....0 Maybe that's why daddy didn't give the program any support.
  17. Well considering there is 1 coach in the school to coach football yes it is totally your father's fault. He almost single handedly killed Greenfield's program. Giving Tenure to complete losers and wastes like David Dunlap is what almost killed the football program. People in Greenfield should shake Adam Dowland's hand every time they see him because without him coaching for nothing the last couple of years that program would have had 1 coach. Heck every basketball team has at least 2 coaches. 2 coaches for 15 players....1 coach for 40. That's Jackie Vaughn math!!!
  18. Heck he's bigger than NFL Free Safeties. I'm all for putting my best players at safety if you are wanting to stop big plays. I'm sure he'll make a ton of tackles for 6-10 yard gains. Like I said are you wanting to stop teams or slow them down. I watched Josiah Lassek /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> make tons of tackles for 10 yard gains. He was the only 1 who would tackle, but we couldn't stop a marching band either!
  19. What did Hickman County lose from last year besides the staff. Last year they were salty and mean and not to mention well coached and talented. I was hoping they would be down some this year because they drilled us last year. Maybe you can help me out Catfish. Plus will Harpeth be that much better? Do you believe this? Just because most of a bad team is back doesn't mean they are gonna be good.
  20. Yeah Catfish, Greenfield has a chance to finish anywhere from 2-5 in the region this year. They got some bad news in the last couple days because they their only assistant coach. The old principal almost killed the football program, and they are having trouble getting new coaches in there because of lack of teaching spots. They are playing against a stacked deck, but I know I wish I had 3 of their lineman and a couple of their skill kids. They have good players, just don't know if they will have enough coaching help. Also what's this about Batts playing FS? Are you guys trying to stop people or just contain them as well as you can? Put him at rush end and tell him to sick em!
  21. Mckenzie will win the region. However it all depends of what the new coaches at UC can get straightened out. If they get some athletes out, then they finish second, if not they could miss the playoffs. Then Greenfield and Gleason must be the next two in line. Gleason made the playoffs last year, but I give the edge to Greenfield since they pounded Gleason last year. Bruceton will be down as will West Carroll. Then S. F. is still 2-3 years away. Lake County always has athletes, but in my opinion the spread is not the offense they should be running. So my order is this. Mckenzie, U.C., Greenfield, Gleason, L.C., Bruceton, S.F., and W. C.
  22. Yeah Catfish, but Cheatham County is the most screwed up school system in the state of TN. Heck, Cheatham makes Montgomerey Co. look like a model school system. Good luck to Cody and whoever coaches there as long as those power tripping women are still in charge!
  23. I heard from a Jo Byrns fan that they only beat harpeth by one touchdown in their scrimmage. Like 3 to 2 or something. He said it was because Jo Byrns wasn't very good this year, but I don't know if I believe that. He's been known to sandbag. I was wondering if Jo Byrns was going to have a down year, or if Harpeth is that much better than they have been. Maybe a little of both. Any news on the subject would be appreciated.
  24. How is the team looking this year? Is there really only 4 players on the team over 200 pounds? I heard you got another tailback with some speed. How big is he? What are the thoughts from some of you old devils?
  25. Butchie you are wrong, which isn't new for you, but I digress. Greenfield and Gleason have about 10 kids that should even step on the field. They are much smaller than even Bruceton. Bruceton is the great exception, but heck they have been for 25 years. Bruceton is always gonna have about 15 good players, but they always have 2-4 great athletes. (ex. all the willis's and santiago's. Jordan etc.) Mckenzie and Union City have the numbers advantage. Union City's program is down, but they'll always have 5-7 great athletes thanks to their great black athletes. If there is a team that should hold up their part it is West Carrol who has the numbers but are terribly coached and has a bad program. Much like Halls, or Gibson County. Lay off poor Gleason and Greenfield. They are trying, but the deck is just stacked too much against them. But it is totally incorrect to say they play the same hand as Bruceton because the histories of the programs speak against your argument there.
