  1. Who won 8A's district tournament consolation game? It shows on the brackets but has no score. It shows Knowledge Aca vs Jo Burns
  2. Clay will play the winner of the play-in game...Clarkrange vs Gordonsville. Pickett Co will play Red Boiling Springs.
  3. Clarkrange is down this year...8 losses. They split with Clay Co. and were swept by Pickett Co and Red Boiling Springs. They have to play their way into the district tournament against Gordonsville, but they should win that game. But, they beat Clay Co. once but lost by 13 in the rematch. They only beat Gordonsville( 7-19) by 8 recently. In most other districts they would be first though. 7A has three teams in the top 10. Clay Co. seems to be struggling lately beating one of the weakest area teams by just 2 (Clinton Co, Ky... area teams often play them. When Pickett Co played Clinton Co earlier, they had a 37 point lead when the starters came out. It should be Clay and Pickett in the district and region finals.
  4. Actually that isn't correct about the first game. Pickett was ahead by just 2 at the half, but was up by 5 three minutes into the 3rd quarter. With about 2:30 to go in the 3rd quarter it was 53-45. At the end of the 3rd quarter it was 56-45. In the 1st minute of the 4th quarter it was 61-47. With about 5:30 to go it was 65-50. They won 81-54. I can give you a point by point report of the game. They won the 2nd game Pickett Co. won 75-45. Pickett Co. has Mr. Basketball candidate Zach Amonett. ER doesn't have one. If ER plays PC and beats them, I will be the first to congratulate them.
  5. Absolutely. He has taken a team with one senior, 2 sophomores and two freshman to #2 in the state this year. They have only lost to #2 in the state, 3A Livingston and 4A Coffee Co. who I think is #8. They also beat unbeaten at the time Powell who was #7 in the state on Coacht. They are going to be great for this and the next three years and I'm sure down the road after that. They have been to the state 5 out of 7 years.
  6. Just think...if think the Pickett County Lady Bobcats had only put in some effort they might be 14-0...oh wait, they are. I don't know about any other teams, but you are dead wrong about the Lady Bobcats.
  7. I have seen both Pickett and Clarkrange. Pickett easily beat Stone at home (up by as many as 16 or 17) but had to fight back at Stone to win...but showed me they have what it takes to go to state coming back against a good team like they did. I have seen Clarkrange look horrible and great... hardly looking like the same team on different nights. They have the 3 point shooting to beat Pickett at home, if they can keep up with them. I think Pickett is too fast and could wear Clarkrange out. PC will have to guard the 3s at Clarkrange if they want to win. A split wouldn't surprise me. Clay County has a good record but was blown out by Livingston and lost another by 28. I think they'll be 3rd. Jackson county? Scoring 20 points against Cookeville says they are not the usual JC. I think both Clarkrange and Pickett will go to state. I don't see anyone in the region or substate that could challenge them.
  8. Anyone now how many threes Clarkrange had against Collinwood? It looked like about 100. To be fair to Collinwood their best player was out sick and they have had their share of very good teams over the years. Clarkrange just didn't seem to miss any threes.
  9. Clarkrange is playing much better after losing to Oneida by 16...then beating Oneida by 50. PC had better guard against the 3s at Clarkrange or Clarkrange will win. I agree both will go to Murfreesboro this year. Clay is good but not in the same class as these two. Jackson County isn't posting their scores lately so all I can think is they are losing.
  10. I agree that PC is looking good but even though they played Clay close a couple of times last year, I don't see them or anyone in 7A beating Clay Co this year. Pickett needs to play their best at Clarkrange or they won't win. They had better be ready to guard the 3s.. I think the Buffaloes have a good shot at being #2.
  11. Well bob77...a fact is a fact and what I posted was a FACT. A JC fan said that their loss to Cookeville was the worst in years. It wasn't the only 20 point game. If the world doesn't revolve around Pickett County, that why are you all so focused on the Lady Bobcats? Support YOU own team, quit acting so jealous of the #1 A team in the state. As far as "going down tonight"...yes, they went down and took care of business and won again. Will they lose? With the tough schedule left against Clarkrange, Clay County (which I am more worried about as they look to be very good) and Livingston, they very well might. So what, they are playing good teams outside of the district to get better and ready for the playoffs. We fans are focused on enjoying our Lady Bobcats...39-3 in the last 2 years, rather than knocking other programs.
  12. I guess you are forgetting last year's region loss to Pickett County...what was it 61-20 or 60-21?
  13. I stand corrected on Stone Memorial...they are AAA. Pickett County took a quick 11-3 lead and never looked back over the then unbeaten AAA Stone Memorial. Pickett County led by as many as 17...enough said.
  14. Agreed that Clay is the best but Pickett County hasn't lost to an "A" team. They lost to LA by 3 and beat unbeaten Stone Memorial 80-69 after leading by 20. Clarkrange lost to them. Jackson Co is what, about 1-5?
  15. The unbeaten Lady Bobcats had one of their "off nights" last night leading unbeaten AA Stone Memorial by as many as 17 points, winning 69-58. The Lady Bobcats "suffered" at point guard with Gracie Martin scoring "only" 16 "frustrating" points. With "hands in her face" Abbi Buck "only" got 2 threes, 13 points, rebounds and steals and they bothered to guard her. LOL...got any more "tips?"
  16. I am sure they will respond with a big win at home. This was only their 2nd loss to them in over 50 games.
  17. That hasn't happened...off nights at 7-0? They play unbeaten AA Stone Memorial tonight so maybe tonight we'll see that.
  18. What happened to Clarkrange vs Oneida?
  19. For the Lady Bobcats...Kassidy Geesling had 5 blocked shots the other night and has completely recovered from last year's injury, Aaliyah Brown is very quick and a good 3 point shooter, Gracie Martin has taken over point guard and doing a great job, Savannah Hammock is also very quick and a great shooter. They are faster than last year and have a talented bench of young players too.
  20. Congratulations to Pickett County beating a good AAA Cookeville 61-52. PC led by 10-12 most of the game but got into severe foul trouble early. After Cookeville cut it to 4 late in the 3rd quarter with several PC starters out, PC pulled away for the win.
  21. I agree...we should also be good in the sub-state but Columbia Academy is usually very strong.
  22. This is the new region starting next year. It looks like the sub-state area may be regions 7 & 8. Does anyone have specifics about sub-state? Region 3 District 5 Ivy Academy (Soddy-Daisy, TN) Lookout Valley High School (Chattanooga, TN) Richard Hardy Memorial School (South Pittsburg, TN) South Pittsburg High School (South Pittsburg, TN) Van Buren Co. High School (Spencer, TN) Whitwell High School (Whitwell, TN) District 6 Clarkrange High School (Clarkrange, TN) Clay Co. High School (Celina, TN) Gordonsville High School (Gordonsville, TN) Jackson Co. High School (Gainesboro, TN) Monterey High School (Monterey, TN) Pickett Co. High School (Byrdstown, TN) Red Boiling Springs High School (Red Boiling Springs, TN) Trousdale Co. High School (Hartsville, TN)
  23. Thanks. That is what I saw in the paper too after posting this.
  24. Has anyone heard what the coach's preseason picks were in the district? I imagine Clay County was first but I haven't heard how they voted...thanks.
  25. I understand that Clarkrange got Stone Memorial's best player, a guard. They'll be the favorite. Then Jackson County got a 6'1" player from Shelbyville and another transfer. The coaches voted Clarkrange #1, Pickett Co #2, Jackson Co #3, Clay Co #4 and Monterey #5. I think Clay Co will be much improved over last year.
