  1. We scrimmaged Brentwood Academy, Ensworth, and Franklin Road Academy this past Saturday and played without Heather Butler. She was running in the state cross country meet and finished 4th in the state in the individual run. As for those 3 scrimmages, GC won one, lost one, and tied one. BA and Ensworth are normally the cream of the crop in Division II. Ensworth is a fairly new school, but of course they recruit and bring in top notch players from around Nashville.
  2. I obviously misunderstood then. I wasn't meaning anything negative toward Butler in that post. I was just told that she didn't play Saturday because of the cross country meet. Considering she played a basketball game and then went and ran in the state cross country meet is pretty impressive. Congrats to her and hopefully she'll have her a great senior year in basketball! See ya around!
  3. I was not referring to comments that you made about Alcoa. I was however referring to all of your excuses for the scrimmage loss to Greenfield, and the way you ripped people on that thread. There have been a couple of others, but that one sticks out. I didn't rip the Greenfield football team in that thread. The only person I ripped in that thread was volfan007. He acted like beating Gibson Co. in a scrimmage was winning the superbowl or something, which it might've been in his case considering GC is such a football powerhouse. That was the first week that Gibson Co. was learning the new "Tony Franklin System" which is also the spread offense. Of course, I did note in that thread that Gibson Co. was playing without their best player in Sherrod Johnson, which was an excuse, but I never continuously cried about it. I never once bashed the Greenfield football team and I never once bashed the coach on that thread. Therefor, your definition of being a whiney baby is quite confusing. Once again, all I do is support my teams and give my honest and unbiased opinion in other games. Like I said, I pray and hope that Milan wins the state championship this year, but after watching Alcoa play earlier in the year, I'm not quite sure.

She was running in the state cross country meet and finished 4th in the state in the individual run. As for those 3 scrimmages and without Butler, GC won one, lost one, and tied one. That's fairly good considering they started Griffin and Reedy and most likely 2 Sophomores and a Freshman, if I'm guessing right on who the starters were. 5. HAHA, you haven't started knocking on me until I made the comment about being surprised if a team keeps it within 21 points against Alcoa. I know your team is the Bulldawgs and I hope the Bulldawgs upset Alcoa in the championship. However, if the 'Dawgs stay close, I'll be surprised. Now, that you said I've been whining all year, go back and show me where I've been whining. GC went 0-10 this year, I know. The only time I stated anything about GC football after week 2 or 3 was to the defense of the team when people were talking crap about them on here. My post on the AA Mr. Football thread was in defense of you bashing my post as well as the GC team. GC had alot of injuries this year! That's not whining, that's a fact. Now, volfan has been whining about how Union City and Humboldt and Huntingdon and all these other 1A powerhouses are so much bigger than Greenfield and that they should be playing 2A football. GUESS WHAT! GC is playing in 3A against schools that are much larger than them as well, but I'm not on here crying about it. There's no doubt that GC had the smallest number of enrollment in the region. GC lost alot of students to South Gibson. Did you see me on here crying? NO. Maybe, you were the one crying that Avery and Jobronski didn't get nominated for Mr. Football. Go find my post from earlier in the season and see where I cried about everything and didn't give the other teams credit for the job they did. You won't find it.
  6. To be honest, Lake Co.'s press could give Westview fits. Lake Co.'s press is definately a big key to them winning games this year. Last year, GC's press is what gave them the advantage against Westview. It wouldn't surprise me if the Lake Co. and Westview girls game is pretty close.
  7. Appreciate it! Should give a good look at what each team brings to the tables once again. OC girls impressed me quite a bit Saturday, even playing without Fussell. Should make for some interesting matchups this year in 13AA!
  8. I said possibly. If you look at our preseason scrimmages we were in every scrimmage including the jamboree against USJ where we lost 20-14 with USJ playing their starters the whole way as well as our scrimmage against Union City. Week 0, we lost to Humboldt 34-20, who is now still playing in the Class A playoffs. Ask anyone that was at the Humboldt game that night if they thought GC would be better than years past. After that game, we never played another game with all of our players playing. GC was nailed hard with injuries this year. Thanks for your ignorant comment!
  9. Haha, won't happen. We'll be Patriot fans for the night. My buddy that I'm going to Paris with Friday night, has a cousin that plays for Henry Co.
  10. I know we had a thread going for 13AA in the offseason and I decided to make a new 13AA thread for the regular season now that playdays have been played and jamboree's start this Saturday. Westview, Dyersburg, Crockett Co., Covington and Obion Co. played this past Saturday at UTM in the Westview playday. GC traveled to middle Tennessee to play in a little playday there against Brentwood Academy, Ensworth, and Franklin Road Academy. Dyer Co. played in Clarksville in a playday there hosted by Clarksville NE, I believe. As for jamborees, Obion Co. is hosting one this coming Saturday night. I know GC is playing in it as well as OC. I haven't seen a schedule on who else is playing in the jambo, but I do know GC is playing JCM. If anyone has a schedule of that jambo could you please post it. If any other 13AA teams are playing in a jamboree this week, please post it on here as well. Thoughts and comments are appreciated! Good Luck to all 13AA teams!
  11. GC - I guess when I say balance is important in the playoffs, I know defenses work to take away your strengths and try to make you do things your team isn't comfortable. I know Alcoa didn't throw against Maryville but i have no doubt they could have if needed but with the sucess of the running game that night there was no need to pass. I really feel that will hurt Camden this friday night. Something tells me that with the confidence of Westview they will force Camden to put it in the air. We will see - you going to Benton County this Friday night? I was going to head to Camden Friday to watch this game, however I'm going to head to Henry Co. to watch Henry Co. and Gallatin play. Our offensive coordinator back when I played is now a coach at Gallatin. I also haven't had the chance to watch Henry Co. play yet this year and I really want to check them out. If Milan and Camden do play next week, I'll be there to watch it.
  12. Camden is predictable as is Milan. Milan isn't going to throw the ball unless they have to as I'm sure that's the case in Camden. Coach Morris was working on things with his team against Stewart Co. and giving other teams something else to prepare for. Establishing the run game is apart of football and if you can establish the run game then there is no reason to pass the ball. Alcoa runs the ball constantly. I went and watched them and Maryville play. Alcoa passed the ball once in that game against one of the most historic programs in Tennessee as well as one of the best teams in 6A. They also ran for 400+ yards in the game against Maryville as well. Do you catch the jist here? Do you consider this bad coaching?
  13. I did think it was pretty funny when Stewart Co. got in their big ole circle before the game and started jumping around, lol.
  14. The CAK and Alcoa game will be the only game worth going that far east to watch if you want to see a somewhat tough game for them. You mine as well just wait until they play in Cookeville to save you the extra 2 1/2 hours of driving. CAK will be the only hope of anyone beating them until the state championship.
  15. Jonathan Avent was out a couple of weeks ago when Union City and South Fulton played wasn't he? The South Fulton Red Devils better come ready to play this week! Avent better have a game like Kennon Holder did last year against USJ where he'll rush for 500+ yards!!! guys, guys, guys....just ignore this volfan... He's a 40 year old cry baby. You think I'm joking, but I'm not!
  16. He's a 40 year old cry baby! You think I'm joking, but I'm not. As for the Union City and South Fulton game, 2 weeks ago I believe that South Fulton played that game without their star player playing in Jonathan Avent. Avent could be a big factor in that UC/SF game, you think I'm kiddin but I'm not!
  17. Well, mine wasn't "film study" as I did watch them in person. tcaee is correct in what he or she has said about Alcoa. I think some of the Alcoa fans on here have even stated that there may be only 1 or 2 OOZ players on the team. The rest came up through the elementary and feeder school system. I'll be honest, if a team stays within 21 points of Alcoa in any game throughout the playoffs, including the state championship, I'll be surprised. I honestly believe that Alcoa is better than last year if Milan fans want to guage how good Alcoa is this year. I pray and hope that Milan, or anyone else, can pull the upset over Alcoa, but isn't that what we all want to happen besides the Alcoa fans?
  18. If you're going to say a team isn't as well coached as another team because all he has to do is run the ball to beat his opponents then that makes no sense at all. Coach Ward is 10-1 thus far and is in no need of changing his way to beat opponents. If I figured it right, Camden is average 32 PPG. I'd stick with the running game and average my 32 PPG and expect my defense to hold the opponent under 32 points. If you say Camden is predictable then Milan is as well as they tend to hand the ball to Jobronski or Avery the majority of the time. I'm meaning no harm to Milan or Camden in this post, but I don't get how you say Westview is better coached just because Camden is predictable.
  19. My 2 cents worth... Tyler Robinson will win AA Mr. Football linemen Bo Wallace will win AA Mr. Football back No way possible will 2 players from the same school win it.
  20. If you were at the Westview playday the other day, you saw 2 studs that he might be bringing in for next year. I'm not sure if he got them to commit or not, but if he did UTM is going to be ALOT better than people think next year, mark my words. If they sign, I'll tell you who they were and where they came from.
  21. People are referring to that Adamsville/TCA game. Didn't TCA have 1 or 2 TD's called back in that game as well? Something just makes me think that they did.
  22. CLASS AAA LINEMAN Chris Mayes, Riverdale Tim McAdoo, Oakland Jacques Smith, Ooltewah CLASS AAA BACK Reed Gurchiek, Mt. Juliet Anthony Hayes, White Station Darian Stone, Clinton Congrats to all 6 of these guys!
  23. CLASS AA LINEMAN O.C. Brown, Manassas Tyler Robinson, Alcoa James Stone, Maplewood CLASS AA BACK Bryson Crowder, Liberty Jaron Toney, Alcoa Bo Wallace, Giles County I must say... Avery Williamson from Milan got shafted big time!!!!!!!!
  24. Do you not think Jackson is? If that's the case, why not and try to get games moved out of Jackson. Maybe it's just that you people don't want to drive a hour and a half to support your football team.
