  1. How did the CC scrimmage go and what was score of main teams?
  2. Yeah, he seems to be a good solid football player. I think he play LB and FB, but I am not sure. Really wish they were having spring practice a little earlier. For years we did it right around this time of the year.
  3. Does anyone know how many kids are working out? What are the numbers looking like?
  4. Union City, Huntingdon, TCA, and Lake County seem to be the top four in west TN in 1A it looks to me. Union City, Huntingdon renewing their traditional rivalry should be very interesting. I believe one of these two will go far in the playoffs. I have not heard much on Huntingdon, but I know they were young last year and when they get that wing T offense clicking they will be tough. Union City has already done very good in beating North Side. I love the way they ran the Veer last year. Did Union City scrimmage anyone else?
  5. Does anyone know what time they are scheduled to start?
  6. Does anyone know when Spring Practice will be held this year and who they are scrimmaging?
  7. Thanks for the info... Is Comer still going to be there as far as you know?
  8. Thanks Noah... I have been watching you as a player and coach for several years... Good job with Gleason
  9. All the TSSAA did was make this a complicated mess, much like 2A has been as of late. I would like to see them scrap the whole system and go back to taking 3-4 from each region like before. This is the craziest, goofiest, unorganized plan ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IMO
  10. It is never enough for the true football fan. Season, Playoffs, Championship, Spring Ball, Spring Scrimmage, and then waiting for fall again. Feel free to list teams that are having spring practice, scrimmage game dates, and scrimmage scores here. Some should be kicking off here soon with the February Thaw![/size]
  11. Anyone who says that there is not something wrong with the football program at Bruceton has had their eyes closed the past few years. It is not just the 0-10. It is more than that. The fire is gone. People that live here know what I mean. We have seen a steady decline in the program for the past few years and it is at the lowest point ever. In a small town you have got to get the majority of your best athletes on the field. Bruceton has not done that consistently the last few years for whatever reason. As Noah says, the 07' team was loaded with talent. They were a team that, just looking at the talent, you saw them going deep in the playoffs. Murphy Fair thought they would go all the way prior to the season. You rarely have a team with 2 Mr. Football finalists, 1 winner, 1 runner up on the same team in any classification and yet they made to round 2 if memory serves me right. The younger kids coming up in pee wee and junior high look promising, but will they play at the next level? I guess time will tell but there needs to be a turning point somewhere. Maybe 09' will be the year?
  12. I can see him going to D'burg. They have a lot of money floating around over there and they have one of the best pay scales in the area to offer to someone and boo koo's of talent year in and year out. It is a great step up for him. I can see him looking very hard at it, if he is offered. The McKenzie program has really came along way the last few years under this coaching staff and I take my hat off to them all! They gave the kids the best chance to win based upon the talent that they had. I like the way he adjusts the offense to use his talent. Like last year. McKenzie a running team? After the way Drew Hayes and Derrick Carr has thrown the ball the last few years. No one could see it, but it worked. That was good coaching! Salute and good luck.
  13. TigerFan35, I understand how you feel, but you must understand by now, after going 0-10, and there is no talk of changes, nobody really cares.
  14. Does anyone have 2009 schedule available?
  15. I can see where that comparison could be drawn, but I feel it was more because of the ending of the McGee/Sturdivant era than anything else.
  16. I have been around Bruceton football for years and known many who worked at H.I.S. and I just don't see how it had much effect if any. justinnici and a couple of others who seem to have been around Bruceton football seem to feel the same from what I can read on here.
  17. I don't know if any changes are in the works or not, but the HIS stuff doesn't hold water. We have had basically the same families playing football throughout the good years and bad years. Look back at the annuals and you will see little Billy and little John's father played here and their father and their uncle and so on and so on .... I can't recall but one or two players who made a huge impact on Bruceton football that came in here because their parents came to work at HIS. Really just one family off the top of my head and that was Nelson and Darwin Santiago. ( I guess that was the case as both of them worked there at one time) They were great players and had a big impact but that is the only ones I know of that being the case. Most people who worked at HIS either was from Bruceton or lived in one of the neighboring towns and drove over here. They usually did not up root and move over here. Our school population has remained around 240 or so several years.
  18. I guess 7-1a as not as down as everyone seemed to think. I am a clean freak and I like to see a good "sweep"! Good job, and good luck to all 7-1a teams even though you are fixing to be beating up on one another again. LOL I still think the Tornado's are the real deal and them and Cascade will probably combine for the perfect storm in the semi finals, but they gotta get through McKenzie again first. That should be a good one too.
  19. Manassas is a very dangerous team. We saw them at Bruceton last year and bearly eeked out a win. They had a lot of speed and I understand that is much the same this year. I am pulling for McKenzie but they better bring it all out tonight or they will be on the outside looking in. This Manassas team has only lost 1 game and it was much earlier in the year. I am still going with McKenzie 34-28.
  20. Yeah, this new plan just muddies the water from where I am sitting. Looks good if you are a McKenzie or Huntingdon fan but not so good if you are Bruceton or West Carroll. One of the other three has to hope to get a wild card. I just don't like the wild card deal. I like it better when it is all on the records just like it is now. You just look at W and L's and it is all there in black and white. What's next, a poll to decide who plays who (like in college). Maybe i am being a little over dramatic but I hope it works out better than I think it will. Bruceton will be by far the smallest team in the district. Huntingdon, McKenzie, Riverside have always been 2A and West Carroll is one of the largest 1A's but Bruceton usually has less than 250 in high school. Doesn't look good for us. If Bruceton's program was where it was 10 yrs ago it would have been a very competitive district, but not today. We have some serious rebuilding to do and with this move a very inhospitable region in which to do it. If they keep the coaching staff they have or get someone else, it is gonna be tough. I am hoping for some of the younger coaches at Bruceton to get a shot. Keeping our fingers crossed. Good luck to McKenzie at Manassas. Bruceton played them last yr and they were very athletic and fast. I would like to see R7 sweep R8 again, and I think it could happen and it is very likely R7 wins 3 out of 4. Good luck R7 all the way to Murphreesboro. I still think UC or McKenzie plays in 4th round even though Lake Co, did make a good run at the end of the season. .
  21. I agree with tigerforlife. If you can't see that their is something wrong with the program at HRB you need to get some glasses. Everyone that I have heard talking about the program wants to see a change. 0-10 (for the first time ever.) Dead last in the region. (First time ever, as far as I can remember) These look to me like the kind of reality checks that make you step back and say, yeah we may need to do something different. I believe everyone just wants to see the program get back to where it was. That will require some change.
  22. West Carroll has scored more points than Bruceton in each game this year and I think that continues Friday night. West Carroll - 34 Bruceton - 14
  23. Option 1 looks the most likely from over here. Lake County must be much improved. WOW that was a real shocker. I don't believe region 8 is gonna walk through region 7. We'll see in the next 3 weeks.
  24. I know this question probably only matters to the two teams involved and their respective fans, but who's 0 has got to go? What do you think? and what does it look like for these two teams for next year?
