  1. Excellent list. I know it's tough to put together a list of one team across all classifications but this is as good as any list out there. Thanks again. And the plaque idea sounds pretty good for next year also, if you can find a willing company.
  2. Hey region, are you OK? I know this has to break your heart.
  3. Yeah, yankees are the least of your problems.
  4. I think that most of us can probably come up with a offensive and defensive team out of all classifications but restricting the voting to 10 players regardless of position and classification would be good enough. I'd like to see the top 50 so we can have at least a first and second team offense and defense. Let's do it.
  5. Some team you know? Oooh, let me guess. Bottom line is there is no way one list is going to satisfy everyone on here but it doesn't mean that we can't discuss it.
  6. Oh, I'm not campaigning for any particular Riverdale player, Dave or anyone else. But even you have to admit that of the final 4 teams in 5A, only 2 players fron OR got on. Does that not seem strange to anyone other than me? I guess Franklin, Germantown and Riverdale coaches had something better to do that weekend. But I'm sure Oakland was well represented.
  7. And as you can see, CoachT members are going to vote with their hearts also. Hey region4fan, how's it going?
  8. Sounds good. The nomination part of the deal is what I have the problem with, not the voting. Coaches will either vote with their heads or their hearts and no rule change is going to change that. But is there a limit on how many players are nominated at any one position?
  9. And quit yelling. I hear you fine.
  10. Oh, I know how it works. And I know it's not a popularity contest. But it doesn't make it right either. If I've seen the best player I've ever seen and he's not on my team, I should be able to say "Hey, I think Joe Blow deserves to be on this team even though I'm not his coach". It doesn't sound like the TFCA allows for that. That's all I'm saying.
  11. Can't help but put in my 2 cents: If a player can only be eligible by having his coach nominate him, the system is flawed. I'd like to think that every coach would nominate players on his team that he deems worthy but I also think that the same coach should be able to nominate a kid that he's seen play on another team. Of course, a coach would be more familiar with his own kids but he also knows aboout other kids in his region and should be able to determine if that player is deserving as well. That's where I have a problem with the list. As much as I liked seeing as many Riverdale players on the AP list, I knew that there was a little too much representation. But it's a little hard to swallow that no one on Riverdale was on the coaches list. Unless no one from region 4 showed up. Everyone has a little 'homer' in him and wants to see their local players get a little publicity. But how many Mr Football candidates (and winners) were left off the list? Bottom line is those finalists, winners and state champs would not change their situations to get on the TFCA all-state list but you can't help but wonder why so many of them got left off. I'm not mad because I wouldn't trade this past season for anything. Even a TFCA nomination or two. But you can't blame people for questioning some of the picks.
  12. Add one more to the Riverdale tally. I'm in.
  13. Luckily, I saved a few priceless quotes from this forum from Franklin fans and well-wishers. The names have not been included to save further embarrassment: Losing Championships is understood at Riverdale .... Not Franklin! I saw Riverdale play tonight and I have no doubt franklin can run or pass against Riverdale...Franklin will also be able to cause turnovers on defense. We don't care whether we are good or not ! We know we are going to win ! I have heard Riverdale called a machine multiple times this year. Everyone knows a machine doesn't have a heart. trust me when i say riverdale will be lucky to score 17 on franklin be prepred to being wrong my friend. riverdale wont put 17 in a quarter on donnie webb's defense. riverdale's defense has gotten all the praise thoroughout the year for their great defense but on saturday it will be donnie webb's defense that will be praised as the great defense Ask any Riverdale fan after they've lost who the best team was they saw. It will be the best team in the state Tennessee- the Franklin Rebels. Riverdale obviously can be held in check. Franklin has a better def than Oak Ridge Better athletes and better records mean nothing. Riverdale is a little better offensivly. Yes, I said a little. ************************************************** After all that smack, I'd have to say that last week WAS the real championship game. And finally FHSrebel27, you may want to retire that signature about the Warriors coming out to play. Be careful what you wish for.
  14. Championships are not even in the Franklin vocabulary, let alone understood.
  15. Don't worry about it. FHSrebel27 will be uptight until the game's over. Maybe even longer.
