I was just wondering if a AA public school that could not compete with the Alcoa's, David Liscomb's etc... could go DII small if they fell in that division? Never heard this discussed.

Which ones were quality wins? OR down ---way down CC--- nothing to write home about SD-- are you kidding me Powell beat AC last night a quality win!

WOW is all i can say. Great jog to all the players and coaches We put it all together and beat a good AC team. Keep it going!

I don't know first hand because my son was never good enough to be "recruited" but i have friend that said Webb, CAK, and yes even Catholic recruited their son. Parents were told by a CAK parent that "everything would be worked out" outside of the school. they said this was legal. Webb told them they could apply for financial aid and "get it"- said this was also legal, Catholic told them a big portion would be covered by the church- said this was also legal. Sounds like nothing illegal going on. Just recruiting. Player is still at Powell and regrets it.

However; I want to take you to task just a bit about the CAK comment. If you get caught up in a 2a vs 4a thought process you will lose site of basic football fundamentals. Regardless of size of school, a team can only play 11 players at a time. While CAK only has 400 students and certainly does not have the athletes Powell has, they do have some good "football players" that are extremely well coached and play "team" football. That makes CAK a very worthy opponent, even for larger schools such as Powell. Footballdad, I think you need to worry about 2A and stop posting on the 4a threads. Loudon proved my point.

Last year CAK in the jamboree and this year a loss to Campbell Co . Embarassing! Neither of these teams should be able to play with us. Something needs to be done to get this team going. It looks like we have good athletes and i know how hard they work. What needs to happen?

We are in trouble. What do we need to do to right the ship? I really didn't expect this. Maybe this will wake everyone up!

Congrats CAK! Although we played our second team haha kidding (Halls thread) We have to get better in a hurry but we will.

I thought it was something like that. I think our kids enjoyed playing Webb and knew they would be challenged. Seems like Bearden and Farragut would be better choices to play Webb since they would get huge crowds for those games. Will Grace be playing Webb in the future. Webb, Catholic, CAK, and Grace should be playing shouldn't they?

I too watched those Webb vs Powell games and totally agree. Powell was much larger and appeared to have better athletes but Webb played very well and stayed with their game plan while we were doing all kinds of crazy things. Glad to hear we are not the only ones that have had trouble beating them. I don't think we stopped playing them because they beat us if that was what you were implying GRF.

Just wondering.......do all CAK parents get scrimmage tapes the night of the scrimmage? How does that work? Sounds like Halls parents get them also. Is that correct? I can't imagine getting a scrimmage from our coaches. Maybe you taped the scrimmage yourself? With all the tapes floating isn't there a chance your competitors will get a copy?

We all know Catholic and Webb do not give scholarships.

I do not think God takes sides in a football game. It was a response to a pompous comment from a CAK poster. Saying that God was the reason CAK defeated Cloudland could lead to Grace winning more.

Still time for him to transfer! Maybe Powell???

Now that CAK has some "evil" it it's midst. Maybe god is moving over to Grace.

TSSAA will not allow players on State tournament teams to tryout. On the website it said Underclassmen not upperclassmen showcase tryouts.

Pat Swallows is the head of the TBCA. AC players were in the State tournament the year they didn't tryout (so were some very good farragut players that were on the team). Who cares who wins..... It is a showcase.

There is a lot of misinformation being put out here.

didn't CBHS have a player tossed from a state championship game a few years ago for cursing at an umpire? I think he was forgiven when their coach apologized to the umpire haha Guess it depends on who yells the loudest and the longest
