Coach Mitchell has done a very good job, and it would be a shame to see him go. I was just curious to this rumor about Dave Gorman. I agree with creekbank that he will be a coaching candidate for jobs in east Tenn., since he has been @ Carson-Newman the last two years.

Del Most of the fans talking about this game are not Portland fans, and trust me I wont look past Grundy because we are a very average team at best. I hope we can play with you guys. I think we need some help to get past this game yet alone Smith Co.

Twan, Muffin, Queenbee, I must say you represent three very good teams and I would like to include us in that group but I dont think I can. With all do respect to Smith, TC, and LA I must say Portland has taken some major steps backwards as a program. I understand they may not have the same talent as a few years ago but I feel as if we have lost something. I must also say that we do play in a very tough region and you have to be ready night in and night out. I just feel like we are like a lot of other programs know that make it to the first or second round of the playoffs.

imallen Thanks for the hope, but Portland wont be there in week2 of the playoffs. I will say a couple of calls made tonight might have hurt, but that does not change the fact we were shut out. This is a different Portland Program.

The truth is Portland's program has fallen a little and some other have risen a little. I think PTown had a great thing going a few years back but you are where you are. I am just curious if they have changed some things over the last few years.

Antwan we also won about 25 or 26 straight games before losing to Trousdale. We have not had any type streak even close to that the last few years. I think you need to worry about SC and stop worrying about everyone elses team.

Portland played a tough team tonight, but I think the changes at Portland over the last few years may be the difference in the reason they struggle with teams like Livingston which would not have been a issue in the late 90's and 00 01. They would have won this game with these same teams 3 years ago.

Portland may be able to get its starters out of this game early. Is their any truth to Mike Duncan leaving the coaching staff at Portland. Is he still a part of the staff or is he leaving at the end of the year.

I understand what you guys are saying about being down 21, but we were only down by 14 at half and we were passing. I just hope we stick to the wingt with a sprinkle of the pass.

PPride, I agree that our passing game was where it needed to be last week. We did a good job in only throwing it 4 times, that is the portland football of old. Against White House we tried to go to the wing and gun, and I do not think that is Portland football. If we run it and control the line of scrimmage we can win. I will disagree with you in saying we are a run oriented offense, I think we took more passing attempts against WH than I have seen us take in a whole year in the past. I just think we have gotten away from what made us State Champs a little.

Portland has a chance if they dont get in a passing game with TC.

Creekbank, I think you have drank to much of that creek water, but I must say I do hope it is a close game and my panthers pull it off. I think if we stick to the offense of 2000 and 2001 and not the offense of the past 3 years then we can win this game. I remember when we played trousdale in 2001 they tried to come out throwing it all over the place, but by the time the playoffs came around they had gone back to the run. I think if PTown goes back to the days of old we can be successful. Go Panthers

I hope Portland plays better than last week, and I think they will win this game. I just dont know if they are a team that will go deep into the playoffs. In the past Ptown has improved as the season has gone on, but I think the change of style will prevent this from happening. I would like to see us get back to smash mouth football, like the days of old. I think we proved in the past that we can run the ball and that is what we need to do. I will agree that the wideouts dropped some passes, but we have never been a passing team to begin with.

Portland looks like a different team, they run it the first 3 plays of the game vs White House and score, and then go to the pass. I do not remember seeing us pass this many times in a whole season. I think we have forgotten what made us good. What made us good is the wing T. It will be tough for us to win at Macon.
