  1. lol. if hacker was 9-22, the receivers dropped atleast ten passes, cause I didn't see too many bad throws. Something has to change there. Maybe they are not used to getting the ball, but you guys have one week to correct that, or I still say fire the coach for not having those guys ready to make plays. Defensively, you guys didn't adjust when it was obvious rhea had your number. This isn't the first time this season you have done that. Your defense used to be one of the best in the area, not this year. The kids have been playing good in spite of in my opinion, bad schemes, but get the schemes right or you won't make the playoffs. offensively, good game plan. leave hacker at qb, cause when hambrick was in he was not hitting the wide open receivers. Even though with the drops, you almost see why, or on the flip side, he wasn't getting them the ball so they didn't expect it when hacker threw it. you guys can do it man, just correct those mistakes!
  2. yep, correct some mistakes. fire the receiver coach and defensive coordinator, and go for the playoffs.
  3. great breakdown! only catch is if central wins out which means they beat red bank and red bank loses to east ridge, they make it in then too. This region is crazy. Good Luck to all, and Central, stir some things up man. Do your part and a little praying! Come on Rhea and come on East Ridge!!
  4. with the results of the game Friday night, what does the playoff picture look like now?
  5. It was a good game by both teams last night. Rhea County found a weakness in central's defense and took advantage of it all night. central found another athlete to put at qb, who shined, and just needed a little more time to pull it out. Those receivers were dropping balls left and right, or they may have still pulled it off. Why did Hambrick get kicked out? I thought the game was over after that point, but central rallied behind 8, and almost pulled it out. Good luck Rhea. and does central still have a chance to make the playoffs if they win out? If so, figure out what Rhea saw in that defense, find some receivers that can catch the ball, and get 8 ready, cause when hambrick comes back and plays running back or receiver, and defense, 8 is gonna lead you guys where you need to be. Get it right Pounders! Best of luck!
  6. east ridge chatt. central cleveland rhea county hixson brainerd
  7. That is the problem with people from Central, they try to put the blame on one player, and it's a player that hasn't even been playing since week three. Find someone to blame. Since ooltewah, their passing game has sucked. They still average over 300 yards rushing, but they can't buy a passing attack. Rear back and throw it deep. That number 8 sure can throw a good deep ball. If Central ignores its ignorant fans, they can pull this one out 27-24.
  8. central has not put together a complete game yet, "if" they find a way, they can definitely sneak through the region. Red Bank has established themselves in this region, as have rhea county. cleveland's defense is good, but unless their offense puts it together, heads will roll. east ridge also still has a pretty good shot. I think this region will be like it was two years ago and come down to the very last week.
  9. That qb from central ran caldwell down from behind. So if caldwell is thought to be fastest, this kid must be super fast.
  10. No excuses this time. Tyner lined up and beat us. They put woods out on central first offensive play and it was all downhill from there. It's the first time I have seen central not even have a chance. Great game tyner and good luck in the future.
  11. Central had a late start by bringing in the younger players to back up the seniors, but after a good showing against ooltewah still making key fatigue mistakes, and two weeks to practice the younger kids and giving hambrick the snaps in practice, Central is a very very dangerous team. I won't predict central will win or lose, but I think this one comes down to who makes the most mistakes. If central can cut down on them, there is no way they lose to tyner. tyner has athletes as does central. the game will come down to coaching, and right now after watching them play ooltewah, advantage tyner. central could have beat ooltewah barring some bad playcalling both offense and defense, mostly defense. Hopefully a week off and a refreshed central team and coaches make a big difference tomorrow night.
  12. Guys, it is the coaches choice who they play every two years. It is an agreement between the two schools' coaches. If gatewood wanted to play McCallie, he could, but why would he? Why take the chance when it means nothing for his program if he wins and a lot against him if he loses. He has to keep rivalry games, and he has to keep region games, and why not schedule some warm up games?
  13. James did a good coaching job to beat central in a game they were outgained by almost 200 yards.
  14. you guys praise hambrick in here and then in another thread say he didn't do anything special, he just threw it up and prayed for someone to catch it. His game had nothing to do with skill or talent?
  15. Anyone watching the game realizes that hambrick for central played a great game, and the game plan for central offensively was a good one. They moved their two best receivers in the slot and matched them up with linebackers and safeties. The offensive line gave hambrick all sorts of time and he also moved around well. he made some great throws, as did woods from ooltewah. The game showcased two good qbs and they both had breakout games when they needed it. I guess fault hambrick because his recievrs got open, or behind dbs, and he made the throws, or fault woods because his receivers were wide open, and all he had to do was set the ball down in an open area. ooltewah did a good job of getting there receivers open and woods threw to them as central did a good job of creating mismatches and getting the ball to their receivers. I follow both Central and ooltewah football and attend both practices during the week, and to take anything away from either qb is ridiculus, especially the hambrick kid because he made a lot of things happen that normal high school qbs may not have made happen.
  16. yes, he is a stand up kid. great athlete and competitor also. The other qb seems like a good kid and was coming along slowly, but this kid is the way to go, central would be crazy to take him out. They may want to give him a break on defense so they don't wear him out.
  17. Ooltewah may falter but they definitely don't have the team that should. They are not overrated. They lived up to the hype Friday night in a game that could have easily gone the other way had ooltewah not been ready to play. Their secondary is the only weakness I question right now. Great ground game, good qb, good receivers, great line, good defense with the only weakness being the secondary.
  18. I think teamwork is a problem with the pounders. I saw them practice today and after practice a player was in a coaches face and using a lot of profanity. I don't know if he got in any trouble or not, but it seemed to us watching like it was excepted behavior. I don't know about you guys but that was never tolerated when I was in school. Maybe they are having a lot of internal problems. If so, they will not win games that way or go very far. Too bad, they have the talent to do so.
  19. Why do you guys say overrated? What have they been picked to win? They are just in the mix of the conference, a team that can beat any other team on any given night. No they haven't won by blowouts because of mistakes, but the stats from the first 2 games say a lot about their offense averaging 350 yds per game to giving up 70. Barring mistakes, "careless mistakes", they can beat any given team on any given night. Are they gonna, you have to take it week to week. I think Central is underrated because of their loss to Notre Dame and their youth, but people forget that they also have a lot of experience. And if they don't get beat again before the youth and experience meet halway, other teams may have a hard time beating them.
  20. I saw them tweeking things with their offense today with an old coach that coached there a year or two ago, and their execution looked much better today than it did. Look for a more focused Central football team on Friday. I think everything is finally starting to come together.
  21. I stopped by practice today and Richardson was back out there, I don't know if he is there to stay but he was out there coaching...he's a good man.
  22. good point...lol. I guess we needed to play warren county when i was in school...lol I could have set a national record. Seriously though, the kid is an athlete, he would have played on my high school team and I haven't seen many athletes here I would say that about. I don't know how good of a running back he actually is, but time will tell if he is durable enough. Me, personally I like to see him at linebacker in the opponents backfield, or lining up to block a punt.
  23. I went to Southwest Dekalb in Atlanta. and Central went 5-6 that year...not because of their defense. Their offense won games for them that year with Lake at QB. What I am saying is not that Foster didn't deserve it, I am saying he did because no matter who it is, 360 yards is 360 yards. Woods had almost 400, doesn't he deserve some credit? Has anyone else put that kind of number up on warren county?
