Week Two a band of McMinn County Cherokee warriors tried to sneak into the Nest only to find the Owls ready and looking for a good fight, the only problem they thought they were warriors and found that they were only big talking pups which angered Gatewoods Owls and sent them back on I-75 trail to Athens with their tails between their legs. Week Three Gatewood and his troops from Ooltewah raged war on their Purple boarder rivals and found that the PUDS from Chattanooga Central ready to knock off the 6th ranked team in the state. The Puds did everything that they could to stop one of the fiercest Owls in Gatewood’s arsenal only to find out these birds can air it out just as good as knocking their foes in the nose. The PUDS picked their poison and paid the ultimate price. Week Four the Governors from William Blount heard there were some rowdy Owls in Ooltewah so they sent a few Marshall’s to take care of the situation but would be held up by a storm named Ivan that had flooded their path. They should have just stayed put because once they arrived in Ooltewah they found that the Owls were rowdy, and fiercer than the storm Ivan during the battle the Owls captured one of the Governors leaders so they brought him to their Commander, General Gatewood which he then offered a truce halfway through the battle but they did not except the terms and conditions so he then ordered his troops to destroy them and so they did. After the conflict, the Owls posted signs on all their boarders and this is what it reads. Ooltewah High School have a great young and enthusiastic asst. coaches that love the game.

No that just shows what little you know about the game both private and public schools recruit that’s a fact and to say that they do not shows me ignorance on your behalf. Now I am sure that Boyd has an excellent curriculum and Hamilton Counties needs to be reformed and I am sorry that I have offended anyone I am sick about everyone talking about the what ifs what if do not get us anywhere. I respect Boyd’s program and coaching staff and all I ask is that can Ooltewah get some of the credit when the credit is due we have been trying our hardest for so many years to earn it and all we ask is for others to acknowledge our achievements that our kids have made as well as our coaching staff they have put their sweat and blood and tears in this program and they deserve a little respect every now and then. we put our pants on one leg at a time like the all the rest. I hope in the future that Chattanooga area teams will be the power house of Tennessee football. Good luck to all.

We did not start this one I am just stating the facts and if you don’t like it I can respect that. But these guys have been pushing, pushing the issue and I am sick of it. I would love to see this match up but it probably will not happen. Every year I pull for all Chattanooga and surrounding area teams to do well and to win a state title but this bashing is getting old stick to the games you are playing and not with the what if. Where does Boyd get their players I know that most of them are not from Brainerd so where do they come from. Look at their roster then find that address and I would bet you at least 30% or more are from Ooltewah and East Brainerd. These boys could not cut it at Ooltewah so they go to Boyd. Boyd is Ooltewah’s third string. We would win this year and next or better yet clearly the next six years. How you like them apples! The only way they can fill a team is recruiting kids all over Hamilton County so a bunch of second and occasionally 1st stringer can make a pretty good squad but the bottom line is these kids could not make it in their on zip codes.

Look at the teams who Ooltewah has played and then look at who they have played and you may change your tune. Red Bank lost to Ooltewah and Soddy Daisy, Beat Cleveland, Bradley, and Brainerd. East Ridge lost to Ooltewah, Notre Dame, beat Central and Brainerd. McMinn Co. lost to Ooltewah, Farragut, Cleveland, and beat Cumberland Co. Central lost to Notre Dame, East Ridge, and Ooltewah. Beat Warren Co. William Blount lost to Knox Central, Alcoa, Soddy Daisy, and Ooltewah. Our region has three undefeated teams more than any other region in the state we also have four teams in the top ten in the state. Now look at your region and who has the easyier schedule. Ooltewah and their fellow 5A Region 2 counterparts have the toughest region year in year out hands down.

You guys are a joke I believe that some of you needed to be disciplined as a child or shown that you were loved and you would not have all this anger building up inside grow up and get over it. This is a game it will always be a game and there is nothing wrong with some good old fashion trash talking to get a game hyped up but when it becomes an obsession that is just low class. Ooltewah has students from all walks of life not all are rich nor all are poor we all have a goal to excel in life and to be optimistic rather than pessimistic in our journey to the top. We all have down times and that’s the fact of life its how you make it through them that will make us all a winner.

I will continue to post the journey each and every week because I feel that it is well written and it complements the young men on a job well done and to show them they are appriciated instead of being critisied by all the critics. For an example of leaving them out of the paper this morning was a lack of support of our community not to mention disrespectful. Thank you for those who support the journey and supporting our program during our many years of trials and tribulations may we continue this journey for years to come leading by example for our leaders of tomorrow. I coached these young men and I am proud of them and will always show my support through thick and thin a true fan, friend, and past player.
