  1. Lebanon scares no one. The Cavaliers have stepped it up alot since then and their defense is a force to be recond with. but that is too far, take it one game at a time its not double elimination.
  2. Fraklin county lost friday because cookeville made their offense fumble and throw interceptions. that super defense wasnt that good either. a freshman scored on them after breaking tackles from what was supposed to be a stellar defense from what the rebel fans said the week leading up. Franklin county has nothing and will have less than nothing against riverdale, you are supposed to pull for people in your region but this game is a waste of time.
  3. The Pit in Lincoln County. Toughest place i ever played, where winning was once impossible, not so much anymore but still very difficult (not to mention the home grown refs).
  4. Well put shaggyj. What kind of misdirection, like play fakes out of a wingt?
  5. It will be Lebanon @ Cookeville in the second round.
  6. Whoever said something about franklin county's defense in the opening post is crazy. Franklin County is nothing special at all, dont even know if they are medicore, while riverdale is bets in the state, easily, so this one is one of the few playoffs games that is over before it began. and that idea can rarely be used in the playoffs.
  7. Riverdale is clearly middle tennessee. and someone pick an upset those are all like the 1 number one team in their classes. i think 4a and 3a are more in the air than that.
  8. Plus Cookeville's win to coffee county was before their loss, and their most recent stretch of 3 straight games without allowing a touchdown. Momentum is rolling with an already talented and hard working team, not to mention one of the best coaches in the state, i like cookeville's odds in this one to open the score a little more than 7 points in the last few minutes.
  9. lebanon wont be stopped. I will root for region 3 but this battle doesn't seem like it will go well for coffee county. Lebanon is a very tough place to play. (p.s. dont slip on the devils face on the concrete ramp to the field from the visitors locker room, its a doozy)
  10. Cookeville's defense is amazing. they are very solid. their offense has been rolling too. their game plan is never the same twice. Coach Joslin changes it to accomidate his opponents weakness. Cookeville has so much momentum going in to this game, i see nothing stopping it this week. Should be a nice playoff game in cookeville friday night.
  11. Turf or not it was smart. we were clearly better and with a longer playoff run we need eddie watson to be in good shape for the playoffs. by the time we played blackman 2 years ago it was just a mud patty. Big win. Lets see what happens in the playoffs this week.
  12. Last year both teams were complete opposites. history sometimes repeats but not this years cavs and this years rebels. i admit they cant walk in and expect them to lay down , but they are drastically different
  13. If you are going to pick franklin county, which isnt that far-fetched, at leats pick a realistic score, 4 touchdowns or 3 and some kicks, is not realistic at all. dont even know if cookevilel will stomp franklin county by that much.

    Next Year

kinda sad this thread has already started. but i guess it is good for some teams. Warren County, hear they have some middle schoolers and younger talent that is maturing.
  15. Coffee county by as much as they want, they may not wanna overplay with the playoffs next week. i dont know how injured they are, and never hurts to let back ups have a JV game on a friday. Good lukc to the pioneers though.
  16. Nice play. Like an interior option. works well with a solid fullback, tackle and Qb.
  17. Yeah lets hear what Franklin County is like. i heard their D is good and can score, they run pass punt what? rebel fans lets hear what they got.
  18. No one is killing a cookeville linebacker. they have one of the best in the state. he averages 9 tackles a game had 19 in one game. he is psycho and gets across the line faster than any other. I wanna see anyone capable of killing him because he is a freak of nature.
  19. Cookeville has a back court full of them. If Smith, Hennigan, or Stearman are on (which is often) it can be lights out.
  20. Jerry Joslin- Cookeville. He took a 5-6 team and molded them into a 8-1 (as of now) team. They were picked to get 4th or 3rd in the region, yet he had them clinch the championship in week 8. He is the best motivater. 5A coach of the year= Big Jerry J. Honorable mention=Mcgavock head coach
  21. Gotta give Franklin County credit they are always play tough and won't just roll over. With that said, look for cookeville to make them roll over, that defense is out of this world. Cookeville by at least 2 touchdowns, pending the amount of time second string gets.
  22. a lot of people (such as myself and fuggly) remember how coach j motivated people. didnt matter if it was for the region championship or just to make the playoffs (2001 and 2003). he will get the job done. 9-1 come friday night.
  23. The cavs have gotten alot better since antioch, they are playing possessed. coach j should be noted as one of the best in the state. that defense is incredible. its all gravy fuggly.
  24. I like that region. the wilson county, sumner county, putnam and cumberland county region wouldnt be bad on any one. hour and a half at the most ride.
  25. Fuggly is extremely ugly but its cool i gave him that nickname way back when. we were bros! cool is the best stink it mecgavock, especially feliznavidad, you lost and didnt know crap about your own team. i helped those dudes practice and become region champs. im so proud right now. our senior class wasnt much but its worth it knowing you helped cookeville earn a championship. hooray cavs.
