  1. Mike Pierce deserves recognition, and Brad Greene as well. I also think Doug Hall is quite possibly the best of all three, but only itme will tell us that.
  2. ya know, hoya, you may know who reaction is, but i have kept quite the low profile for someone who knows so much about the irish. while i have the benefit of knowing who you are despite your constant arguments otherwise (in the past at least), I believe you would have a difficult time picking me out. i want to attend a game this year, but if i do, i may blow my cover, and i have a reputation to uphold. you understand.
  3. Catholic has overachieved over the past few years, although last year they underachieved in my opinion, but the three to four previously they definitely overachieved. That just goes to show what good coaching and hard work can get you. This year's squad, with Mike Pierce in goal and Tarricone, Green, Hall, etc. is one of the better squads in the state, but I agree Science Hill has the edge talent-wise, even if it is the smallest of edges. I think Catholic can come away with this one, if only because Mike Pierce saves 1-2 goals a game that most others would give up. Not to say Daniel Sheridan was a bad keeper, but Mike has unreal athleticism for the position. Anyway, as far as predictions go, 1-0 Catholic, with Science Hill feeling cheated after the saves Pierce will make. Also, look out for Mike's brother, Joey, who has a great shot. In fact, I say either him or Brad Green scores it.
  4. Congrats Catholic, hope to see you guys make the state finals for all the players that came so close but never did these past three or so years. Keep up the good work.
  5. Knoxville Cathilic Invitational? hoya75, is this a new invitational this year? i haven't heard of it.
  6. Oh Bach is not that incredible, and Johnson is good, but neither of them could be tops in the state. I will say this, Bach can dribble and finish
  7. I agree. Knox Catholic will be one of the top three teams in DII by the end of the year and one of the top eleven in the state. Bank on it.
  8. Brad Greene, if he is still a midfielder, for Knox Catholic. The kid is sick, better shot than anyone I know of. Sees the field well and can pass it wherever he wants to. Not the most impressive feet, but can get around his man if need be, and I have yet to see anyone this year have a stronger leg. He's also a lot cooler than Scott Kensell, I don't know Kimball, however.
  9. Christian Brothers, actually just about any Memphis team that has any talent, but MUS AND CBHS would have to be the top two.
  10. have you ever picked for Catholic itzme? Anyway, Catholic wins. They deserve it, and they have soe of the best guard play in the state. Just wait and see...
  11. Catholic will be better than most every team in DII, with the possible exceptions of Baylor, BA, and Briarcrest. You people honestly cannot pick basketball. It is obvious to say BA will win, but who is the second best team in DII? I wuold probably say Baylor, followed by Catholic, with Briarcrest fourth. The region championship in the East should be exciting to watch, as Webb, Baylor, Catholic, McCallie, and Notre Dame are more quality teams than the other two divisions. In the Middle, you have BA and BGA. West, CBHS, Lausuanne, Briarcrest, and I guess MUS. You match up top four from any division with top four in East and I would say it is 3-1 East, or in the West's case, 4-0. There won't be many teams that can beat the teams from DII East.
  12. The real answer is that having these constant rules and regulations placed on them (uniforms, church, things like that) drive the Christian (and specifically Catholic) kids to rebellion. Most of them have been going to Christian schools their whole lives, and they just want to let loose by high school. And most of them are sarcastic smart ####, which can be very funny, but also very rude. That is the real answer.
  13. Reynolds is much more of a D-I prospect than anyone in the Knoxville area. He has the size, he has a great work ethic, and on top of that, he is much more talented than people give hime credit for. If a team was taking a big chance by offering him, why has he been offered by some of the bigger football programs in the nation? Nebraska is having one of the best recruiting years in some time around there, and Reynolds is believed to be a big target for them. Some people are so misinformed on this site it is ridiculous. Anyway, he has the tools to be a great college football player and maybe even a pro one day.
  14. DII-A Bishop Byrne DII-AA Knoxville Catholic DII-AAA McCallie Who does everyone think will take it home this year? These are simple predictions. If you want to go with the team you root for (say, Webb or John Paul II, two teams that have noooo chance), then go right ahead.
  15. I don't have a dog in this fight, but Webb will win. I respect you guys a lot more after the Catholic game. Dolinak ain't worth a dime, if you had Fleming, you guys would win by three touchdowns. Also, if Tate played at Catholic he would be GOD with a football in his hands. The line for Catholic would open up so many possibilities for this guy to score every time he touched the ball it would be sick. I for one am glad he plays for JPII, though, you guys would have a pretty vanilla offense without him. With that being said, Webb by 13!
  16. Where is Catholic and McCallie in your poll? Catholic is the favorite to win DII-AA after all. And McCallie is probably one of the faves in DII-AAA. I believe ET will bring home four gold balls, but I am not going to tell you the four teams, because it is without a doubt wrong, I suppose.
  17. Are you kidding? Look at my post and what was put down. It was a joke, insidep. if you were trying to make a joke, remember to spice it up more next time. that was lame. as for the whole being jealous over money, haha, no one is jealous over the money thing gata, it is just webb people have it, not many catholic people do, just a difference to point out. no hard feelings, it was used to get people to stop overanalyzing why and how webb could lose again to catholic in football. the fact of the matter is, jimbob, ask the average joe who has any knowledge about dII-AA football who the best team is, and more than half would tell you catholic. if you are so blind to polls and the like that you can't see that, then you are in denial my friend. catholic beat webb. catholic is undefeated, and no matter how easy the schedule is, that is still an accomplishment. could catholic have taken webb's schedule and gone undefeated? doubtful, but they certainly wouldn't be 5-5 right now either. just something to think about, also there is an obvious discrepancy between the passing games of catholic and webb, i.e. we have one, and you guys don't. for a person to see this fact on friday and still say webb was the better team is astonishing to me, but i'll take your word for it. you guys seriously need arthur long back.
  18. Webb by 13. Almost there JPII, just not yet... Dolinak is not a good quarterback, by the way, but Webb will smash mouth their way to the victory.
  19. My cousin who attended Webb has confirmed that yes, everyone that goes to Webb is in fact, loaded. He also stated that only about 30% of you have yachts, so I guess you could say the yacht comment was uncalled for. As for JimBob, no one takes your posts seriously anymore. "Unbiased look at the teams and you would see Webb was the better team" give me a break you friggin' Webb supporter, you are biased! And for that matter, the same cousin who attended Webb said the past three years of Webb football are a disgrace and a slap in the face to the past teams at Webb. Catholic won, which means, I would surmise, that they are the better team. Now please, make an excuse. Just reply with another excuse. You see, the good thing is, I don't have to constantly make excuses to explain why my team lost, because they never do. I hope to God you guys beat JPII, because if you don't, you will never get your second chance at Catholic. At Catholic, we don't need second chances. With that being said, after the playoffs, basketball season will be upon us! Who will win the rivalry games there I wonder? Uh, could it be Catholic again? I bet you a yacht it is. Also, we will probably own you guys in everything but baseball. Why don't you just transfer? I mean God likes us, you could come and feel what it's like to not constantly defend your team.
  20. Good luck to all, including privates in 1A. And festus, quit with the dumb redneck spelling. no one finds it amusing, although "eggsept" sort of made me laugh. And quit with your private bashing as well. Good luck EAST TENNESSEE!
  21. Webb will still be third little john paul friend. Catholic will win anyway (by three td's), but if they happen to lose because none of the players showed up or there was a freak radioactive accident and the Webb players are given super powers, Catholic will still be first and Webb third. And hasn't Catholic earned it?
  22. You are the man Grad. I mean truly the man. You seem to be pretty egotistical for a guy who has TEAM JESUS as a signature. Were you ever tought humility in church, bible-thumper? "You probably don't know what 'ignorant' means." I mean give me a break! I take it from your message board name that you are a graduate of Ooltewah. How about trying to act your age? If you get angry at this, just remember: WWJD?
  23. OK, you people are so misinformed. Catholic vs. Webb as a rivalry has been going on for years. My uncle played against Webb in the 60's and said it was huge then. My dad played against them in the 70's and said it was the one game they looked forward to all season. It's not as if these two just started playing each other and developed this hatred. Since I was six years old I knew what the Catholic-Webb rivalry was and how it was in all sports. Webb has dominated football, but they have been close in all others. So to say it's the new rivalry in Knoxville is stupid and comes from people who are uninformed.
  24. Just wait, 3 TD's. Catholic will beat them by three TD's. I forgot there was still two Smiths at Webb, so three people from Webb can maybe stay with Nick McFadden, and the Clendenen kid won't tackle Nick trust me on that one. The Smiths will, they are just a tough family. And you will see who the faster team is between the two when they play. It's Catholic, hands down. Also, there hasn't been much made about the passing game of Catholic's. It has improved every week. Jimmy Fleming comes from an athletic family and has really started to step up his play. Cooter, I wouldn't just say I have seen a team play twice and be lying you twit. I saw the Powell and AE games, and your team was slowwwww. I'm not saying Walker is slow. He really isn't. My cousin went to Webb and he said Walker is actually an awesome basketball player and he said he should've played both sports for Webb. But anyway, three touchdowns, just wait and see. The funny thing is, you Webb people honestly think you guys have a chance after what has happened the past few years and how the teams look this year. You are going to lose, even if it isn't by three scores, you are still going to lose. Even if McFadden got injured (knock on wood), Chris Hare would step in and destroy you guys. It's just a fact of life, a fact of life...
