  1. Someone please explain why DB's pregame ritual is classless. The band and the cheerleaders come onto DB's side of the field, play school songs, and the team gets fired up. Nothing is ever directed at the opposing team, it's all about the kids, on their side of the field. How is that classless? I understand the talk about people whining about the refs and the 1% of DB fans that get on here and senselessly talk trash, but I really don't get how the band and The Walk is classless. Someone educate me.
  2. Not close, in my opinion. The defense just isn't near some of the past teams that had a shot. '04 '01 '00 were all better, in my mind. Probably some more in the '90s. '06 is probably the closest to this team we have had in the last 8 years though.
  3. 1. 70-80 2. 3. 350-380 4. About 4000 on the home side and probably another 2000 with the end zone and visitor bleachers 5. The team should take 2 and the band take 8 or 9 I believe 6. I'll be there by 5:00 7. About 15 coaches, 3 or 4 more charting plays and such, 2 or 3 trainers
  4. I think I would say somethin to the crowd too if they were chantin You Smoke Crack at me, and I dont know about you Science Hill fans, but I would say that the 26 and 11 that Lamon laid on you should have made you shut up, but obviously not. The dude in the sweater vest was a flamer, Rawslaw has nothin to do with Omar, so dont even talk about what you dont know, especially when your students are chanting about crack and other things to bad for me to name. It's a game, both student sections will taunt, the players will have emotions, its a rivalry, and we were simply better on Friday, its ok guys, you will live another day after DB wins (I mean you are still alive after all these football beatdowns arent you?) Sorry the Indians had to beat your team in your schools "sport", but hey, it isnt really anything new to us beating yall lately. Now crawl back in your little hole devising more plans to bring down DB while you have half a season ahead.
  5. Umm Science Hill is definitely not number 2, and Boone is not number 10, especially since Dobyns-Bennett just beat SH. And TN High and Dobyns-Bennett are NOT from the "Johnson City area", thats an insult, they are from their own cities in the Tri-Cities.
  6. Everyone was talking about how good the Hill was, and they come into the Dome and are greeted by over 3000 fans. SH swept all 4 of DBs teams when we played up in JC, but DB had won the previous 3 games before the varsity boys last night, so we wanted a sweep of our own. DB jumped out to a 6 point lead in the first quarter which would prove to be the biggest lead of either team all night. Throughout the game, both student sections were chanting and yelling at each other with chants from "Nasty Sideburns" chanted at Omar Wattad to "You Smoke Crack" chanted at Lamon Williams. The game was an absolute battle from the beginning, with DB leading by 1 at the half. The second half picked up right where it left off, with Ryan Blackwell battling through leg cramps, but still knocking down 4 threes on his way to 18 points for the game. With 24 seconds left, Coty Sensabaugh got fouled while shooting and knocked down 2 free throws to take the lead 68-67, after Omar had made atleast 4 straight shots for the Toppers, he missed a baseline jumper with 8 seconds, Lamon got the rebound, made one free throw, but missed the second one. So with the score 69-67, 3.2 seconds on the clock, SH inbounding at half court, DB's HUGE student section was jumping up and down, screaming, so anxious for it to end. Everyone knew who the ball was going to for the game winner, and when Omar caught it about 20 feet out, pumped, got Coty in the air, had a good luck at the basket, and hit the front of the rim, and the game was over. The students rushed the court, with the team in the middle of it, coaches giving chest bumps to everyone, the whole place going absolutely nuts while Science Hill filed out like they were leaving a funeral. Some of the stats for the game were, Lamon Williams with 26 points and 11 rebounds, Omar Wattad with 19 poins, Ryan Blackwell with 18 points, 27 lead changes, including 13 in the 4th quarter, 5 ties, and an upending of the #6 team in the state who was previously unbeaten in the conference.
  7. Yes, I was in Coach Morgan's office after the game, and Coach Durham had him marked down with 18 points. Lamon did hold his own, but he did get blocked many times, as was expected. And about Wright having a better game than Harrison when Harrison was a senior? Umm sorry, but if you were at the Arby's game that year where Brentwood played Greenville, where David had 51 points, you would definitely not be saying that Wright is better than him right now. And plus you cant even compare the two considering Harrison has 3 more inches and probably 150 more pounds on Wright, and David plays the true post.
  8. I'm sorry if we are supposed to have dropped this, but it really pisses me off when someone comes on here and criticizes Coach Clark like this. First off, the coaches barely knew about the confrontation between Tyler and Sam, they didn't know any details at all, so there wasn't any reason yet to bench Tyler. After the game, they looked at the tape and saw how it went and made him suffer the consequences. And about Lamon, shut up about it if you don't know how he got back on the team and what he had to do to get back on, along with sitting the first few games of the season. Don't come on this board and talk trash about our coach.
  9. Yes DB will be done if they played like they did last week, but with Lamon returning I can tell you the offense will be much more balanced and unpredictable, unlike last week, Lamon completely alters the way that the offense plays, he is unbelievable. #48 is Dee Peeler, a big hoss that will run over or through anyone to get where he needs to be. That was the first time I had seen the scoreboard do that all year, but they got it back on track quickly. I hope you are coming to the game this Friday to finally see us with Lamon, I am sure that this will be an intense week of practice, seeing as this is the final game at J. Fred Johnson Stadium for our graduating seniors, they will play their hearts out for the last time in front of the home crowd, we won't be overlooking Soddy one bit, this will be an intense game, but the home field advantage, and Lamon back make this game a pretty comfortable win for the Tribe. DB 31 Soddy 21
  10. Cullen Connerly Isn't Moten supposed to be moving away after this year? That's what I'v heard, something about his dad gettin a new job, I'd hate to see him go.
  11. Definitely Brantley Kilgore, followed very closesly by Chris "Stumpy" Cameron and Phillip "Freight Train" Ross, best athletes to ever grace the halls of Dobyns-Bennett High School.
  12. Lamon Williams, Dobyns-Bennett Best receiver in the state, will start at PF on the basketball team, unbelievable athlete
  13. Definitely Josef Throp of Dobyns-Bennett
  14. Ok, first off, Rebel9, I really hope you arent from South because, well you know what happened this year, I dont wanna get into that again VikingShip- You must not have seen DB play this year, they are better than the year that Redbank beat them in the semis with Gerald Riggs Jr. TN High would get destroyed by them, youd be lucky to get 15 points WeGetPicks- No, your QB is not as good as Duran, I dont have to see him play, hes not as good
  15. Alright, almighty Skwerl(Ball)Sak, AKA Ms. Emmett, I'm very sorry my grammar is not up to your expectations. But, no matter how pumped your boys are, they will get smacked tonight, and then they will have to suffer that terrible ride home they are talkin about.
