Word from the Board office is 2 applicants from Georgia, Mccurry from whereever he is at now, and 2 in house coaches.

Word on the street is its down to Phil Fulmer and the night shift mangager at Hooters....... They are going to go at it in a "Speedo, no holds barred, cage match" at the GEC, according to the Tennessean.......to decide who gets the slot.

Playoff plan sucks before, blows now and will continue to do so until we go to some sort of a power point system like several states have gone too. Then you get credit for playing good teams no matter the classification...........of course the higher the classification........the more you get.

With the harsh summer workout schedule and the level of athletes that infiltrate the East Hickman hallways..........a new coach, new ideas................I would predict no bumps in the road. Kids will play hard, 80 plus or more. The spread will put at least 40 pts on the board per game (all be it not sure for which team) and all will be happy once again in easthickmanville. If not, someones mama will put you in the DDT and finish you with the COBRACLUTCH!

You obviously have me confused with someone who has a whole lot more class than who you think this is. I know from the inside and am not afraid to tell it. My vote is for Coach Harris. He can run a bus to Nashville Christian in the mornings, put the offense together at Fairview during the midday........practice wrestling moves with his mom after lunch, recruit Dickson County players that live out of East Hickmans zone till about 2:30 or so.........then coach the East Hickman Eagles on reverses, trick plays, punting on 3rd down and teach them both of his pass plays in the afternoon.....................oh yeah.........and all the kids that cant show for practice he can provide daycare for them as well.

they did well........but that is comparing apples to oranges.........................how well did UT volleyball, tennis, soccer, and track do this year? You might have to look that one up, because........it is irrelavant in this discussion. Football is a work in progress every single year. This is the south, people take it serious. Not to say the other sports are not taken any less serioulsy, but the truth is, not nearly the time, effort, study, knowledge, weight training, or dedication are required to get the same results. Coach Jones did the right thing. Good luck to the next man. If the history of Hickman County football at any school is any indication........you better have a bible in one hand (a good thing for anyone!), and a beer in the other. Hickman county is another of many who has had very limited success. Coaches change, administration changes.....but the culture does not. Lets do whats best for the team............unless I dont think its best for my child=Loser and lots of homecoming games. so really, you shouldnt be sad...........enjoy the floats, pretty girls, and the kicking band action at halftime.

Earth to Centerville...............4A team playing 2A ball...........should have been successful. When Hickman counties numbers dropped............student body left, but the players already committed to that program stayed. So, essentially you had a less than average 4a team playing 2a ball............which makes them fairly good. But, in case you missed the memo........Swenson left while the gettin was good............... You are correct however......EH is not crazy..........they would have to go up a few notches to reach that level. Will they compete soon..........no.............ever.........maybe..................consistently... .........never.

Word on the street is they are starting an all middle school coach league. Fairview, both Hickman County schools, University of Tennessee and East Sally Magnet Twisted Sisterhood Whistle Stop Middle School. The ESMTSWSMS Fighting Lesbos are the odds on favorite to win the league this first year. They have most of the team returning for the 7th straight year and some of them have all of their teeth.

My bet is the middle school coach becomes the janitor at the EHHS so he can coach (he is not certified to teach). His mawmaw becomes his recruiting coach and gets all the best kids from the tri-city area daycare (Centerville, Burns, and Whistle Stop........they have good fried green tomatoes there). A county bus is ran to all of the athletic centers (discount tobacco stores) in Hickman county to pick up all the studs (kids with both legs and at least 7 teeth). Janitor Jim will hire his 3rd grade PE buddies (beer swilling softball buddies) and they will run roughshod over all of the football Mecca known as Hickman County!

The East Hickman "fans" have been removed to "root" for their own high school. Good luck to all concerned in the future.......and you are right, I would have to agree, some are to good to be where they are at........and should probably leave the "fan base" to coach themselves.

Two thoughts............scheme doenst win in HS......fundamentals and players do. Secondly........I would agree, the middle school coaches "scheme" is creative.........lets see how it all works out in the long run for him........LOL

There is only 1 "frontrunner", but the powers that be now realize that hiring him will cost them all thier jobs. Interesting scenario that has evolved.

I would say the game is not quite over just yet. Word is out amongst those that matter and names are being blackballed as we speak. The coaching community is tightly knit........and as you will see, the softball buddies will have a harder and harder time being taken seriously as this plays out.

There is also no mention of the Middle school coaches at East Hickman and Fairview being buddies with the AD at Nashville Christian either and attempting a coup with any 8th grade football players moving to Nashville Christian, but that happened too. Ease off babe......or it will all blow up real good! I would say before this is over outgoing TSSAA leader Ronnie Carter will have another Brentwood Academy type incident to deal with along with some Melrose coaching type suspensions.......
