Maybe they've improved somewhat since the scrimmage I watched, but, like I said, I saw nothing from them at that time. They looked like they had never played football before. I'm not trying to bash them; I have nothing against Brainerd, but they did look pathetic when I saw them. I don't know, maybe they're a little bit better, but Tyner still rolls in this one.

No problem ; I was a little concerned until I saw the above.

I talked to players who scrimmaged their varsity (and watched the scrimmage). They didn't play hard at all. There were times (on special teams) when they could barely get 11 guys on the field because their players were too lazy to get out there. They didn't come off the ball at all. They didn't hit; they couldn't block or tackle. They have 0 fundamentals. Tyner is not a perfect team by any stretch, but they are at least competent on a football field. I did not see that from Brainerd.

No they aren't. I've seen most of their games this year (varsity, JV, scrimmages, etc.). They're lousy. Tyner has no problems in this one, 27-6.

For juniors, I'd say Coleman (McCallie) is the best QB. I'd give Anthony Conney (McCallie) the nod for RBs; I think he'd be somewhere in the Top 5.

Boyd is WAY overmatched.

Powell has no chance, what-so-ever. And that's coming from someone who has watched both the Lenoir City and Webb games as well as their scrimmages this fall at McCallie's camp. Powell's linemen are big and strong but they're slow and they wear down easily. Lee Smith is the only one of them with any stamina, and his attitude will take him out of the game. Other than Cody Watts and a decent RB (#10), Powell has no backs of any consequence, offensively or defensively. That means McCallie puts up a ton of points because ALL of their backs are amazing.

You make a lot of unfair assumptions in that paragraph. I don't think there is a SOUL in Tennessee who is out to give these kids who have been displaced a hard time. Did you see coacht's example with the employee scenario? Did you catch what he was trying to say? If you're a coach who do you trust more or who gets the benefit of the doubt from you: someone whose been putting in solid work for you for years, or a talented, promising new guy? You can favor the new guy all you want, if that's what you want to do, but I'd advise you put him through the fire, first, like you would with any player.

Didn't see the game, but I can believe it. He's struggled against lineman who, like him are REAL big and REAL strong.
