:justwrestle: How can he just recruit these girls to his school. Does their families have to move too? Alot of counties have policies where you can't go to school in a different county than you reside in. How would that work ??????

Ok, cleandog I guess you are right. I just think tryouts should last at least a week, ( all sports, boys and girls) Everybody has a bad day ever now and then.What if the a real good player had a bad day that day and didn't make the team? That is what I am talking about. Also, sometime HS basketball teams practice in the Middle school gym (boys and girls) and MS. practices in thier gym. The coach has to get to know those players . West School players never get seen. Also, why would they announce a freshman, at the football game and in the review, that made the softball team when they haven't had tryouts yet? You are wrong I think. The girls BB coach is from Dekalb. He lives in Smithville. Look in the phone book. You might be right, but some of the best talent(both boys and girls) may be sitting on the bench, or not even on the team, who knows? Guess we will see when season starts.

I am not dogging the other sports.I would like to see our tigers win them all, why wouldn't I? Every person that tries out for soccer makes the team, because thier are not that many tryout. The more you play the better you get and these girls all got to play and they got better. I will say that the soccer coach is a good fair, man. I am diappointed that nobody supports soccer. I don't like it as much as other sports either, but I am getting there. I don't want to mention these coachs or players names on here. Don't you think it would take more than a 2 hr tryout to pick a team? I do. As for under the hill kids, the popular ones do make it. The ones who get thier picture in the paper constantly, when they played at West school. You go to the games and see who made it this year. I think thier were 2 boys and 0 girls made the team. I just believe,from coaching rec. softball, a coach cannot play favorites and have a winning team. Every player needs to have to earn thier spot, even if it is the coachs kid.

I definately think option #1 is the choice. Oh, I didn't know they had politics in football too. That is the major problem with our HS sports teams. So, see it is not the teams fault, it is the coachs. Why can't they see this? Don't they care if we win or not. I know for a fact, that the best players were not picked for the BB teams ? Also, if you live under the hill as we do, you don't stand a chance unless you got a big name. They even announced at homecoming and in the newspaper, a freshman who made the softball team.How would they know? Tryouts hasn't took place yet. I hate for my child or anybody elses child go through the trouble of trying out, if the team is already picked. Geez, that really gets to me. A player should have to earn thier spot, not just have it handed to them because they are so and so"s kid. I think we have figured out the problem guys. Just , what can we do about it?

Well the coach definately has been around along time. He was there 25 yrs ago. We used to win some games back then, so I don't know what the problem is now. You guys just got to keep trying and never give up. At least you have alot of community support. Heck, with the girls soccer team, nobody came to the games, not even most parents. I felt so sorry for these girls as hard as they worked. Then when a football game is going, the whole parking lot is filled. The school don't give these girls soccer team any money. They have to beg for what they get. Really, I don't think the BB teams will do any better. They have a 2 hr tryout and them pick the team. You can't pick a winning team in 2 hrs. The coachs already know who they are going to pick, and they don't pick them because they are good. They pick them for thier last name, who thier parents are, etc. I heard it is the same way with softball and baseball. I can't speak for football, because everybody makes the team, don't they? A good coach doesn't play favorites, he plays talent. Without that, none of our schools sports teams will be any good.So, just do your best guys, seasons almost over.Then we get to watch the BB teams lose and that will be the coachs fault. When I posted this, I got friendship christian confused with Mt juliet christian. Yes, I have seen them play and they are good. The Zimmerman you are talking about must be # 2 on the team.When we (Dekalb) played them in the regular district game, They beat us 5-1 , and #2 scored all the points herself. She is a pro. However when we played them in district playoffs, I noticed the team sharing the ball alot more. They still beat us though. I guess they was trying to win without depending on her so much, since she won't be there next year. Thier players just out ran ours, very speedy.They just run at full speed and steal the ball , very aggressively and never get penalized.If we tried anything, we got caught. I think sometimes the refs know who they want to win, and it is hardly ever us.

Oh, cheer up. You guys will start winning. You just got to have faith. Dekalb has only won 3 games and might not win anymore. They are in about the same shape. I am glad you support your school . Just don't ever, ever give up and you will still be a winner.

Well, sounds like nobody has any faith in Dekalb. It will be hard to beat york, but nothing is impossible. Why do they always play york for homecoming? Tradition I guess, that goes back over 20 yrs. Don't ever give up tigers! GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!

Station camp ,by a landslide

The girl hasn't played all season. Dekalb had 10 games, only 7 of them was district games. She wasn't goalie for the first 2 or 3 games in which 2 of these were district games (really hurt). Livingston is a great team and they only scored 2 on her and she had 32 saves that night.So, that is not bad, considering she is only a freshman,. Where did you get your info?

Owls have got this one in the bag, about 34-0. I cant believe cannon lost to Dekalb.

Soccergirl, Sorry for the loss.I was hoping you guys would win.At least you got a lot further than we (Dekalb) did.I was still proud of our girls.Remember, winning isn't everthing.

Could you post the scores to the district 5 A-aa if you know them. Thanks. Friendship christian beat Dekalb Co , scoreboard said 9-0, but it should have been 8-0. They are tought to be too aggressive, so watchout.
