  1. After looking at the map closer, I agree with you and will make some more changes. I'm trying to get this as accurate as possible. I'm not familiar with where some schools are located. Thanks!
  2. When I was editing my spreadsheet, I forgot to take out Haywood from my original list as they are 3A. So, it should be 82 in Class 2A now. With so many of these new charter schools, it is hard to tell which schools to count as some of them may co-op with other schools. I'm probably way off base but I gave it my best shot, LOL. it will be interesting which schools decide to play up a class or not. Here are my cutoffs: Class 1A - Clinch (36) to Oneida (386) - 83 schools Class 2A - Monterey (395) to Giles Co. (700) - 82 schools Class 3A - Dyersburg (702) to Memphis Overton (1,224) - 82 schools Class 4A - Lenoir City (1,228) to Collierville (2,865) - 82 schools
  3. I've changed my projections after schools changed some of their original numbers and the general consensus being that the total number of schools will be 329. Class 1A will have 83 schools and the other classes will have 82 schools. The four-class system spreads the state thin with 82-83 schools divided into 16 districts. This will result in a lot of four-team districts. It looks like Class 2A will have eight four-team districts out of 16 total. I mapped out Class 2A again, feel free to suggest changes that can be made. 4. There are eight regions in each class for football, therefore more teams in each region. Yes, there are some spread out regions in football and it’s ridiculous. Whereas, there are 16 districts in each class In basketball, baseball, and softball. When dividing that out as evenly as possible, you’re going to spread the state out to be balanced. I’m just speculating what the TSSAA might do. I’m not a big fan of the TSSAA but this will be the toughest alignment job they’ve ever had. I know my projection is probably wrong, I am just taking a guess on what the TSSAA might do. Like I said, I hope it works out for everyone.
  5. I agree with you. This is one of the downfalls of the four class system. The state gets spread out more. 112 teams in a three class but 83 in a four class system. If you just put Memphis in two districts, you will spread class 2A out even more and four team districts will probably happen because of this. I don’t like it either but I think TSSAA will spread it out as evenly as possible. I hope it works out for everyone.
  6. This is my projection for 2A. I'm not for sure where exactly some of the schools are located. Feel free to make corrections. 7. I think they will be released around end of October or the first of November. Then, the schools will have to decide if they want to play up a class or not. When that is decided, the final district and region alignments will be released and voted on by the BOC on November 12. I’m probably wrong but that is the way I interpret it.
  8. Schools will be receiving a memo from the TSSAA giving each school the opportunity to move to a higher class after the staff has divided each sport into the number of classes approved by the Board of Control. Plans are to post District and Region alignments in both Divisions in early November prior to TSSAA Board of Control approval on Monday, November 12th. It looks like the schools will see what class they are in before the classes are officially released and will have until the end of October to decide if they want to move up a class or stay where they’re assigned. The final district and region alignments will be approved by the TSSAA BOC on November 12th.
  9. Based on 2020 numbers, I figured the cutoffs as this: Class 1A: 0-378, Class 2A: 381-689, Class 3A: 691-1,209, Class 4A: 1,224+ 332 schools all together. 4A and 3A will have 83 schools. 2A will have 84 because two schools have an enrollment of 381 which is the cut off between 2A and 1A. 1A will have 82. I don't know how accurate this is but I tried the best that I could. I don't think I will try to match up the districts and regions. I will leave that to the smart ones. LOL!
  10. Memphis-Shelby County Schools finally sent their numbers in, all schools have reported. The TSSAA Board of Control meeting is scheduled for November 12th. They should be classifying and setting all districts and regions right now and announce them on November 12. Then schools will have the option of playing up a class if they choose to do so. The schools can't drop down, they can only go up. TSSAA usually gives the schools a couple of weeks to make this decision. Once this deadline passes, the TSSAA will release the final district and region settings. This should be around December 10.
  11. It looks like every school has reported their 20th day enrollment figures except Memphis-Shelby Co. Schools. According to their school calendar (from their website), the 20th day was on September 28th. They should have turned their numbers in. The website may be wrong and the schools started later than what was shown online.
  12. Based on 2018 numbers, I figured the cutoffs as this: Class 1A: 0-382, Class 2A: 383-690, Class 3A: 691-1,158, Class 4A: 1,159+ All classes with 84 schools with the exception of 1A (83). Once the 2020 numbers are released, the schools will probably have two weeks to decide if the they want to play up a class or not. You can play up but you can't play down. After the schools make that decision, that is when the TSSAA will develop the districts and regions. 2018 numbers makes this hypothetical but it gives you an idea of what might take place. Schools that are just above or below the cutoffs could go either way in 2020.
  13. We still need at least two teams to fill out the field in the 2020 Alex Cassetty Classic @ Jackson County High School on April 10 and 11 with a guarantee of three games. If you're interested, please contact Juan Clariday at 615-388-8295 or juanclariday@jacksoncoschools.com.
  14. Regular Season - Privates 134 wins, Publics 40. (.770 winning pct.) Playoffs - Privates 17 wins, Publics 8. (.680 winning pct.) Overall - Privates 151 wins, Publics 48 (.759 winning pct.) Just wanted to see what everybody thought about those numbers.
  15. My solution is this: Eliminate the Board of Control and the Legislative Council. With the technology we have today, each member school gets to vote online on all business matters. Only the principal or AD's have access to this. A school or TSSAA can make a proposal during certain periods of the year (Ex: every August 1, November 1, February 1, and May 1) and the schools vote. The majority wins (Ex: if the there are 300 members, a 151-149 vote wins). The TSSAA can gather enrollment figures every four years, draw up classes, districts, and regions. The schools vote for approval. Class A votes on class A matters, class AA on class AA stuff, and class AAA on class AAA stuff. Only football playing schools vote on football matters. Same for the other sports also. Public/Private split can be voted on by entire membership. All ejections, violations, etc. would be enforced by the TSSAA itself with Bernard Childress and the assistant executive directors serving as the tribunal. That's my two cents worth. Anybody else like to tweak my proposal, say I'm nuts, or what not. LOL!
