I also think there was alot of pressure on a relatively young Knight program to repeat. And Ryan had alot to play for, Zoccola. Sounds like I am making excuses but when you have seen the talent in action, all of it, you tend to ask 'why' and try to answer it. I am disappointed. I think it is really great for the Ryan program to win tonight. The Irish have a really tough schedule ahead. McCallie beat a very good Riverdale team. And MUS is coming off an impressive victory last week. BA beat Ravenwood but it sounds like Ravenwood responded well to BAs game.

That may be where we really lost it. We did not have as much to play for.

OD we have a much faster team than you guys but boy you ran to the ball well. I would have liked to see more misdirection plays and more Coffey and Wesley. Just poor adjustment to what the defense was doing.

It will be hard for Ryan to pull some of the athletes that BA and MBA and now Ensworth will be able to get. Ryan does not and cannot afford to give full scholarships. If they can do that they will be able to garner some quality athletes. So far JP2 has not been affected by this situation because we are in virgin territory. There is no other private school in Sumner County (Robertson or Wilson)that competes in D2AAA (now AA). We can get athletes that want to compete at that level but that may fall off after a while if we don't have more financial aid to offer those that need it. I am sorry you are ignorant. Go Irish!

Don't you think tator tot (or however you spell it) is derogatory toward Golden whereas the other two you mention are positive nicknames. You know we all come from the same Catholic family and it seems to me we can have a healthy rivalry without all the animosity. Can you manage that?

Yeah great sportsmanship! You really hate JP2 don't you...too bad, because life is too short...you really should have learned that this week. It is alright to be excited but really...and I will believe what you say about Golden when you send me the film of it.

Overflowing attendance.... I truly think we were out coached in the second half. We have other players that can play but the minute they do something Golden's back in there to have his hands on the ball. In fact Courtney ran the ball well and had some real big gains but then he comes out to throw or something to Golden. Don't get me wrong I love Golden but a good defense like Ryan will figure out your scheme when it is so simple, "Give it to Golden"....very poor play calling in the second half. I hate to blame the coach because he really has a hard job but when the shoe fits....etc. This game doesn't count toward region this year anyway...looking forward to next week. Congrats again.

Congratulations Ryan on a big win. I appreciate the sort of sportsmanship by you Old Dad but what is the deal with your comrade 12 17 66? From the beginning of this topic I said I would be a good sport win or lose but it looks like Ryan fans are poor sports win or lose. Redrollred has a hobby...posting here about high school football. Personally don't know what we would do without him. He is sanity in all this insanity. Financial aid is offered to enable students the opportunity to go to a private school that may not otherwise have a choice. There are plenty of kids at BA and other D2 schools that are on financial aid and yet they are NOT athletes.

I guess we'll find out September 11. That is when the current D2AA schools have to decide what classification they will be in. JP2 and St Benedict have already been "moved" based on enrollment so we'll essentially stay where we are. ECS has decided to stay in AA and Harding Academy has decided to go to A. That leaves 3 schools with decisions to make.

What about middle tennessee?
