  1. theres really not much of a movie analogy to describe what happened to gp. maybe Saving Private Ryan 50 to 0 at the half!!! 64 - 0... I guess gibbs, Fulton and first AE was luck of the weather. Slaughter rule in the first quarter and a half... Union co only lost 50 -0 and even pigeon forge kept it within 28 not much more to say GP fans
  2. Lets go take a trip downtown knoxville where these Fulton kids live and see what they have to deal with as teenagers. It is amazing what that Coach Coatney (i think that's his name) has done with them. When you come home from a football game and don't know whether someone will be home or not, or if there will be food there when you get home, then lets see you complain about the bosters buying them rings. Maybe they should have stayed home and stopped complaining about the ticket prices.... or .... Maybe you should get off your snobbish, pretentious, high horse there Mr. Nashville and look at what these kids have to deal with these days. Its not that they didn't get the $120 abercrombie jeans with holes in them last weekend, it that they didn't eat last weekend and are excited to get to school to have a meal thats not sardines and crackers. Just my 2 cents
  3. Good one, also If carefully read old post to make sure one screen name does not coincide with another,so that people will not make the connection and start to figure it out, and you trash talk your own school with that screen name.
  4. I have watched both teams and Gatlinburg has all their hens in a row. They are a very well coached team and play hard. Watching Pigeon Forge on film they make a lot of mistakes i.e., (9 lost fumbles in two games), but... Gatlinburg has no business on the field with them athletically. Pigeon Forge has many more athletes, and their Offense and Defensive line blow G-P's away. However... This game will come down to one of two things: Coaching or Which team wants it worse. This could either shape up to be a huge rivalry in the future.
  5. I recieved a copy of that film (not gonna say where i am) but i watched it and thought pigeon forge handled the ball like a middle school team 8 fumbles 5 lost Meigs took over in PF territory 6 or 7 times they blocked punt 38 total plays on offense Meigs did not complete a single pass But Pf looked bad that night, not the same team I saw play maryville in the jamboree
  6. ... Lets crucify this PF kid. OK, all you armchair coaches should be professional coaches from the stands because you really know what your talking about... This is a team matter, why get the TSSAA involved. He didn't attack the other team. You have spent a few days with these player... They have spent months with each other day in and day out.. They are family. When you get in a fight with a family member, you shouldn't get kicked out of the family. This is a stressful time in the tourney, emotions run high. If you look at a woman in labor, she says terrible things to her husband while giving birth, do they need to diviorce? Have a death in the family and see how long it takes brothers or sisters to disagree and fight. Emotions cause conflict. Becasue baseball, footbal, basketball, etc. are contact sports, people might make contact with each other. Happens in football all the time, but the players can be best friernds after practice, they realize that it is a game. You armchair coaches who sit in the stands probably have a pretty high chair to watch the games from, i am sure none of you realize how arrogant you look to onlookers The very nature of sports brings athletes as close as possible, then tells them to compete with each other. Things will happen, but to disown your family for getting upset... Kinda sounds like the people complaining about it are probably from the team that lost. Sore loser maybe, hoping that him getting kicked out of the state of tennessee would have helped YOU win the game.
  7. not quite my team, just my prediction that i feel is not bold, just against the norm. I am not a sheep that looks at media and wins and say "oh they are a great team with a lot of athletes. How many other real teams have they played. Beat Kingston 35-0 but they are overrated. Gibbs had 10 or so starters out. Fulton goes down in flames.
  8. 3rd round Austin East vs Pigeon Forge. And you can quote me.
  9. Carson-newmans quarterback a few years ago Leonard Guyton went to Thomas County In GA
  10. ok, the "I" backfield. sorry to force you into humerous dialogue with my abbrev's But thanks so far to all. Why do more teams not run it and... why do so many people complain about it when you have teams that run it unbelieveably well, and win year after year, like carson newman, it can't be just the athletes.
  11. Carson Newman seems to be the place to talk of the split back veer (not that I crap). Those are good points raider, thanks.
  12. Just curious about the split back veer, for high school, thoughts comments. If you are going to say it is stupid or terrible, explain why and back your answer with hard proof. Please be detailed. Just want to see some thoughts.
  13. It will probably be closer than most people think. A shocker.
  14. Not sure what the feel is, but all should remember Pigeon forge high school is only 6 years old with 4 years of football. Pretty young if you ask me. So, with a 4 year old program, it is a question of making their boys expect to win, not just come and play hard, only when they beleive they can start winning will they do so. I have heard a lot about their talent, but until they prove themselves and can start believing, Seymour shouldn't necessarily feel too proud about a win.
