  1. All the cocky predictions and YouTube posts then you show up like this? Embarrassing man. Great win for the Mountaineers.
  2. That is crazy. What in the world has happened to Lebanon after all these years? Answers?...
  3. Not pretty but we'll take it I guess. Penalties still killing Cookeville. 70 yard td called back. Actually a little better this week with the penalties maybe? Have to wait and see the final tally. Sparta is better. Y'all will win some more games this year. Great crowd great band and y'all came to play. Good luck the rest of the season.
  4. Yeah that bad 6A team you're referring to IS region play. There won't be any changing that. This is the exact same schedule we played last year. May not have helped us but it didn't hurt us either.
  5. Yes the parents are causing the problems, but I'll say that it is ABSOLUTELY an Administration problem that is the root cause of all of it. Something like this has to start way above the coach. It's the Principal, Superintendent & School Board that have let this culture grow and thrive for years and years until now it's just status quo. The administration has to make it perfectly clear that they back the coaching staff, and will not let parents run the program. That they will not be swayed by texts and phone calls from parents griping about the coach or their son not getting enough playing time, so don't bother trying. I'm not there but apparently this is not the case now. If the parents can cause this much disruption then it has to be so. If it wasn't then no one would even listen and just tell them to shut up. And it wouldn't be a topic on the T. This can be changed. I know it can because Cookeville was in a similar situation 30 years ago. But it has to start at the top. And they have to mean it and stick by it.
  6. The only school system I know that paid for a turf field is Rhea County. Two years ago when we played down there we talked to a Rhea County Commissioner who told us the county spent about $1 million for a Field Turf surface and new running track around the field. It's also the only high school in the county, they didn't have to do the same for two or three other schools. And if Cookeville ever plays at Upperman again I suspect you'll see the same. It was 6 deep standing on the fence.
  7. What's the current cut off for 3A/4A Indian?
  8. Upperman opened in 2003 with a max capacity of 1,200. They started this school year with 805 students, up 53 from 2015. CHS started this school year with 2305 students, up 70 from last year. Max capacity for CHS is 2,500. There are no plans currently to expand either one or build a new high school. They know they're gonna have to do "something" about both schools soon, but there's nothing in the works. If they started planning it NOW it would take years to complete, so I hope they get on it. I don't know about a bleacher expansion but I'll just say this : Good luck getting the county to pay for a bleacher expansion after they're already built. If the county would pay for football facilities and fields we would be playing on turf. The new scoreboard at CHS was paid for with booster club donations and UHS might have to do the same for bleacher expansion.
  9. I agree with you about Watertown. Heard it was great. What's the cutoff from 1A to 2A? I don't see Monterey growing that much unless they force kids up there. New school or not it's still out of the way & up the mountain. That's actually great for Monterey so they can grow slow.
  10. The trees were always there but there was also a 4-5 row bleacher there too. Talmad could tell us more about that I'm sure. I just hate after all these years of Monterey waiting for a new field it doesn't include a visitors bleachers. That sucks.
  11. I'm sure Coach Hughes fought for it. That's not good. I don't care how small of a school you are. When you construct a new high school football field, no bleachers on the visitors side is Bush League.
  12. Whaaat? There were bleachers over there before!?! Did they change the layout that much? Doesn't make sense. 🤔
  13. I haven't seen the field yet, is there actually room for visitors bleachers on the other side?
  14. I agree. I think Hillsboro is really good. But Oakland is GREAT. Still a big divide between Oakland & Wilson Central.
  15. I agree. We're in the same boat with the inexperienced quarterbacks. They should get better, but we both have to develop a passing game of some sort. Y'all should pull this one out at home, hope you do. Good luck.
  16. Who's got home field? I agree TC looks so far like they might be getting back to their old self.
  17. Yeah Cavs killing themselves with penalties thus far but hopefully we get that cleaned up. Defense does look great so far but offense still has work to do. Especially the passing game. That's understandable with a first time starter who hasn't played QB in a few years. He will get better. CAVS will have to continue to get better every week as we play a better team every week. We will see. Good win for the Pioneers last week over a 6A team. I don't care who the team is, if you beat a 6A team like you did last week it's a good sign.
  18. Good call. And good win for the Pioneers.
  19. I agree with that. He generally won't run it up on anyone. Even when you wish he would sometimes. And I like Bruce Lamb too.
  20. Who's counting Upperman out? The Bees are supposed to win this game. If you lose THEN you'll be counted out.
  21. Cavs may have a better defense than last year. Faster to the ball. Does LA have another Dylan Linder? I think we're coming up there to crush you. But good luck to LA this season.
  22. Always a numbers excuse. Throw them numbers out there. Geeze. Numbers didn't come up in the UHS VS CHS game last year. Upperman supposed to have virtually all their linemen back this year. Supposed to be good. Good luck Talmad & the Monterey Wildcats.Already making excuses UCMAN?
  23. Yep everybody likes being in a new school!
