  1. TEAM play was the key. WC passed well and looked for the open man. CPA played too much one on one basketball. Congrats to WC and best luck in the state.
  2. I'm sure there will be tickets, but get there early. Looks like about 80% of the people see Wayne winning in the Big Ones poll. Sporting a 30-4 record, it looks like this would be a huge upset for CPA to pull it out.
  3. Basketball is one of those sports that they say not to compare scores, but I would still have to say Temple at home will win pretty handily. They've got so many weapons including their "stealth bomber" Cudd! He has the most pure stroke on the team and should be starting!
  4. McEwen didn't make anything from the outside, and when Puckett could drive, he wouldn't. He is too good of a player to end a HS career like this, but that is basketball. It wasn't the D, since Lackey was out of the game most of the time because of fouls, it was that he didn't take it to the hole. Too bad - he is a great player and a class individual.
  5. Goodpasture played a very good zone on Puckett last night and shut him down will a few dunks and free throws at the end. I see EH as having quicker guards and better shooters, and yes, Puckett is one of the best players in the state it doesn't matter what class. If EH goes man to man, let Puckett play point because he has better handles that anybody else on McEwen. I say EH by 8. Puckett might get 25, but it won't matter.
  6. What happened to FCS? At one point this season they were ranked 3rd in the state. So much for polls. Ryan Gaines is a great athlete and one that I'm sure will have a great baseball season.
  7. Temple will win by at least 20. They are the best single A team in the state and SP is not in their class.
  8. ER looked great against DCA in the first half. Do they always play a match up zone or do they play man to man? I think that both teams have more players than just Fosnes and Sikes., so don't rule out others to fill it up.
  9. It looks like HC and CPA mirror each other in their wins and losses. HC lost two to a very tough Waverly team, beaten McEwen, had close games with teams not very good and beat some very good teams. Bell is a very good shooter and Woodcock, Warren and Gordon add a lot of size to the lineup. CPA has been up and down all season and their key is if they can play as a team and move the ball around and take good shots. They had some quality wins but made some mediocre teams looks good.
  10. White Station lost four out of their last five games, two to teams that they had beaten, it looks like, pretty handily in the regular season. Did they have any injuries to make such a negative turn? With their talent, I would have thought they would breeze through, though Fairley looks like the real deal.
  11. I would say that Ezell should win by 12 to 15. If you want to get into comparisons, Ezell just beat CPA and CPA beat WHH by 31. WHH is a good team that is extremely well coached. Now if the threes start raining down for WHH, it could be a different story. It would be a huge upset, though.
  12. Unless CPA utilizes all of their players, they may be one and done. Ezell played good team ball last night and Duke ruled over the guy guarding him. Ezell can match up with McEwen and will roll over White House Heritage.
  13. It was a sloppy game and the shooting was not very good. CPA was up by ten after three, but the coach decided to try to hold the ball for whatever reason and that tactic let Ezell back into the game. Fouls were called early and often on CPA, and Hobgood had to sit a majority of the first and second halves. Ezell was in the double bonus with nearly six minutes left in the game, and I believe that Ezell had three on them at that time. Lackey was not very effective, Duke and Gettis had good games and Meek looked better than Lackey at post. Sikes and Farrell had good games and Carroll came up big. With a win against Goodpasture at home, CPA will seal their second straight regular season championship.
  14. “We will pull off another victory (today),” said Fennessee, who had 124 tackles during the regular season. “Then everybody will know for sure what Region 6 can do.” Should CPA make the trip or should they just go ahead and forfeit the game?
  15. I had seen posts that he was highly touted at the start of the year on this board, but his numbers that I have seen have not been ver impressive. I didn't read every post, but is he being recruited by any D-1 teams? I thought that he was going to light it up this year.
  16. Why does Antioch lose? No Coker - simple. The question is, with Antioch stumbling their way through the year, even if Lamarcus gets his hammy well, should he risk further injury? No. Track season is just around the corner and he shouldn't blow a scholarship at a D-1.
  17. Let me think ......... no. Someone get that guy off of his halucenognic drugs that said Huntington, or did he mean Riverdales JV team?
  18. Are you kidding? RBS has a lot of heart and some valuable h2o, but I don't think that they have a chanve. Monterey by 35 unless Adam Sandler shows up.
  19. This has turned into recruiting board material. When a private school has a great athlete, they are recruited When a kid transfers from one school in a County school to another, and his or her parents rent an apartment to have an address in the town, it's fair. Well, this is the way that the TSSAA and folks in rural areas think. Fair, no, but that is one reason for the multiplier and the the resentment. If I lived in Rutherford County, and had a young football player and he wanted to try to get a college scholarship, you bet I'd do anything to play for Coach Rankin.
  20. I think that Coach Rankin should run it up on DB and then maybe, just maybe, the voters will understand how good they are. Smyrna is still ranked in the midstate and Riverdale layed 60 on them, so how much do you have to score?
  21. Blowout- 63 - 8 - It depends on how high Coach Rankin wants to make the score
  22. Go Big Red! MBA will win big. They are on a roll and will win by at least 28 points.
