Um, to those who are talking about Riverdale, this is a topic about the DII state championship between McCallie and Brentwood Academy.Go create your own topic to argue your own topics. Seriously please stop posting on this one unless you have a point about the GAME! Sorry but its just annoying to try to read about this game and have to go through all that garbage.
BA has a huge monkey on their back... a state title. They have had really good football teams in the past but as of late they just havent gotten over the last hump. Plus, they are looking for revenge and we all know how hard it is to beat them twice in the same year (i think the last team to do it was MUS in 2004... could be wrong though) Anyway, I think they finally get the job done this year and beat McCallie. Going to be one heck of a game though... I just think BA is playing for more than a state championship. They want revenge and that state champion pride they have been missing back
All this talk about cooper has made me think. What was the name of the runningback before him. I played at MUS and remember that he was extremely good but never really played to his full potential. What ever became of him?
As an Owl I have to pull for Massey and Burr. Go Baylor!
I will pick Baylor in an upset. Massey and Cooper will get the job done and the defense will be able to hold off the BA offense. Going to be an incredible game though. Expect a trick play sometime in the second half when the game is close... Massey (the coach) tends to like them late in the year.
Yea. Just for kicks Ill take MUS for the 3 peat. But look out for Brentwood, MBA, Baylor, McCallie, Christian Brothers, and... yes even Briarcrest. HaHa
sorry for interrupting, but who has won it all the past two years...? Dont count the Owls out just yet. Park is returning along with a good offensive line and a solid defense. Im not saying they will three peat but they do have a legitimate shot. This region is going to be tough. Anyone can beat anyone.
Officials are very lenient in championship games. They do not like to make many calls. To get a call in a game like this you have to do something blatantly obvious. If you had any knowledge of championship football games at all, then you would know that. Another thing, CBHS had 10 penalties, MUS had 8. If you are going to say two penalties cost CBHS the championship then you obviously do not have a brain and should refrain from embarassing the CBHS players and coaches who played one heck of a football game. Congrats to both teams on outstanding seasons and hopefully there will be a rematch in next years title game.
The game will be extremely close like it is the majority of the time. The records are thrown out the window when these two teams play against each other. By the way, if CBHS were to win... would that throw them, MBA, and MUS into a three way tie for first place in the Super 7?
I dont remember the final score from last year, but the brothers were humiliated. CBHS doesnt forget stuff like that. They will be out for revenge. CBHS by 3 touchdowns
We missed you Eagles09... I agree with margaritaville on this one. If you think that anyone in this state will ever overlook Brentwood Acadamey then you are sorely mistaken. You always have a good team and everyone knows about it and respects yall. MUS will not overlook you just because they beat you twice last year (example: MBA). The game is too close to call. Its going to be a good one.
Thank you for bringing up the actions of #28. I was sitting in the student section and yes we were booing CBHS at halftime... big deal. Its a rivalry game. Get over it. The booing does not give #28 the right to give the entire student section the bird. When you give the finger to the students then youre going to have to deal with the heckling that ensues. Im sure if an MUS player decided to give your "fan section" the bird then you all would act like complete gentlemen and not utter a word. The sportsmanship was bad on both sides and the refs were under par... but thats what makes this rivalry so great. Oh and to wehttam... watch what you say about bad sportsmanship... that was a nice slash to Gibson's head.
