  2. Check with the guy that runs the train horn...He coached him. I know he could kick a football over 50 yards and scored alot of points for the Tigers back in 2001. Congrats to the Tigers and the freshmen kicker for a GREAT Win!!!!
  3. Go Tigers Win Big /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  4. Another sport made him able to play the postion he played very well. Received a college scholarship in both sports. If you graduated in 03 then I am sure I know who you are how bout a hint.
  5. It is the coaching and traditions of these counties. These coaches aren't only there for these boys in football but are also apart of their life??™s. During football season these coaches and boys spend more time together then they do with their own families. My son played football for G-ville, even though he has graduated he still comes home to watch the Tigers play when he can. He is very thankful to have been apart of G-ville football and to have been coached by such a great staff. Just ask him he speaks very highly of all the Tiger coaches but be prepared for a long conversation...lol??¦He loves to talk Tiger Football.
  6. I agree with you Termite??¦Let??™s remember that Justin Smith is our starting QB. He has earned that spot and deserves our respect and support. He has played injured and sick and still does what he does best and thats G-ville Football. Only one thing left to say: GO TIGERS and TAKE THE CREEKBANK!!!!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  7. I pray for an injury free game for both teams. Go Big Blue!!!!
  8. Who said the booster club was bad...I said that they are doing everything they can to help the kids with limited support. If you love TIGERS SPORTS so much then you should also see the need to make sure our kids are getting the equipment they need and want to support them. I am neither whinning or runnng down my school....Your advice is to keep my mouth shut and wait until I have a group to go to the school or maybe the paper. Don't you think this has already been done, maybe you should read our posts again. I am not sure how many people read the Carthage Courier but almost 14,000 have read this thread. I think I will choose how to voice my concerns...You just keep on those rose colored glasses and move everytime you are unhappy with something. Maybe I should keep my mouth shut since my childs a SENIOR and things won't change before they leave anyways and then I won't have to move... Since this was your first post here is an FYI: CoachT is a place where you can talk about all sport issues, but of course you know that because you have been reading it for years. Everyone that wants to make a difference in the world only do it as a group cause TMAC says one person can't....Sorry for being so BLUNT....
  9. My guess would be volleyball, softball and baseball are the sports being carried, or a least they are called the non revenue sports by the school. The cheerleaders pay their own way with fund raisers or their parents and the band has a booster club. Football brings in the most and gets the least, basketball has one carwash to raise money to pay for uniforms, shoes, bags, camp, campwear etc.... Maybe the parents from each sport should have a carwash it works for basketball.....
  10. Do Something About It is easier said then done... A lot of parents have made requests to the school for stuff we were told that the coaches request the money as they need it. The only coach I can see that has figure out the system is basketball... We have had several businesses and parents wanting to make donations to their favorite sport and they have been told it will go in the athletic fund or they can purchase it themselves to donate. The Lions Club sells the football & basketball programs and we aren't sure if they give some of the money to the school or it goes to the Lions Club. The cheerleaders do the calendar ads but the money is split with either the booster club or it goes to the school again unsure. We can't sell signs to go around the fence that was a big NO. As for what do they do with the money that is a big mystery....Trust me we have all asked. I don't think we are complaining about what all you have done for your kids, we are proud for your kids, we just want to be able to provide our kids the same support. When you hear NO so many times you get discouraged, after all we dont want to break tradition or hurt the non revenue sports.....
  11. I just hope that maybe we can get enough parents pumped up about this and we can make some changes. Our next Booster meeting is September 10th at 6:30 pm so I hope all the G-ville fans will be there to show support. After all I thought the school was for the kids and the more involvement by the parents the better. I am very impressed with all of the boosters at SC you guys are a force. Now you know the story from the other side of the river... You are right it is a HUGE effort and takes the support of all parents not just a few.
  12. That's what small town living is all about we take care of each other.... Wouldn't trade it for the world..
  13. Oh the parents have raised cane we just aren't getting anywhere but time will tell. Maybe not this year but someday...
  14. No Problem just an overview but like imallin said it only takes few.
  15. This side of the river would like to say Thank You to the SC QB Club for the support they showed for the Seagraves family during your visit. Community Support is what will keep our county strong no matter what side of the river you live on.
  16. This I know but hey it only takes a few to change the world or at least our part of the world.....
  17. Here??™s the scoop on the whole thing, sorry it took me so long: We have all asked and been told NO on any additional parent ran clubs. No answer why just NO. Last week we had a father go to the school board to see if he could get around it or at least get a straight answer??¦ He was sent back to the school and given the answer ???I just can not allow it???. No other reason then that. Kind of makes you feel like a kid and your parents said because I said so??¦.. We do have a Booster Club with about maybe 15 people, they are having a big drive to try to get more members so maybe it will grow. But like most parents at the school what is the purpose when you really have no say. Everything has to be approved and they get a lot of NO??™S. Unlike most schools our Booster Club does not get any revenue from the gate, concessions, and programs or reserved seating that all goes into the Athletic Fund at the school. Non revenue sports teams can work the concession stand during one home game. The Athletic Fund covers the players of all sports when the coaches ask for things. It is an as needed bases kind of fund. We aren??™t really sure how much is in this fund and what a coach has to do to get their needs filled??¦. Our Jr. High football team is still wearing uniforms & equipment that I am sure was passed down from the high school. The high school football team isn't much better. The parents pay for everything except the uniforms, by uniforms I mean pants, some of their pads, helmets and jerseys. They get one warm-up suit their freshman year and the parents have to pay for the rest of the years to replace unless they are lucky enough that their child doesn't grow over the next 4 years... The band has a Band Booster which runs the concession on the visitor side??¦You know the building at the end of the fence by the score board. In return they have to pay for the electricity and upkeep of the building year round. The cheerleading parents raise the money or pay all of the girl??™s expenses to cover supplies, uniforms, warm-ups, gymnastics and all competitions they attend, etc??¦ The band and the cheerleaders also have to pay the school for the bus & driver to any away games during football season. During basketball season the cheerleaders can ride with the players if there is room FREE. If not the parents have to drive them or once again pay for a bus??¦. I know this isn't really about the game but ya'll asked... That pretty much sums it up sorry if it was more info then you wanted but you got me started...lol....
  18. Agreed for both sides of the field....... We cheer for the good stuff but maybe if we cheered loud and proud for the entire game the boys wouldn't have to way thier arms at the crowds... Just a thought....
  19. Congrats to the Owls Tigers hold your heads high, put this one behind you and clear your heads, you have a REGION to win...
  20. This the best post yet....Good luck to both Teams for an injury free night and may the best team win!!!! Go Tigers
