  1. Concerning the addition on KY teams, Has this been approved by Team TN Wrestling? Might want to check with the Higher ups, two concerns #1 KY isn't a part of the SE District of AAU, ex. Team TN Wrestling. #2 Have you checked with the Top 100 people?
  2. Coach, FYI, Team TN Youth Wrestling AAU warns against wrestling two weight classes in the same division. It has seemed to cause some confusion. There is no problem with wrestling two divisions. Just FYI
  3. Adrian Norfleet didnt lose a match in the three years that he won the state championship. Thats when you really knew who the best kid in the state was without a doubt. He won the state title at 112, 119 and 125 for Whites Creek High School. I believe he lost in the finals his freshman year at state and never lost another match. CoachMick would know for sure. Adrian did not make it to the finals his freshman year. He did not qualify for the state his freshman year. Actually as a sophamore he lost in the district finals to Jonathan Gobbell and then beat him in the finals of the region. Adrian was untouched in TSSAA after that.
  4. OK I'll play! 1) Feet Technique - Pat Simpson, did you ever see John Micheal Garrets low single? It was truly poetic. 2) Mat Wrestling - Three way tie. Jeff Jordan, Frank Simpson, Brian Dunning. 3) Strategy - Gordon Connell 4) Big Man Wrestling - Frank Simpson 5) Ambassador, Promotion, ties it all together - Bill Kennedy (ties it all together) 6) Kids Program - I'll stay away from this one cause I'm one sided.
  5. Tink, Please touch base with me if you can. Pdiddy
  6. I broke my thumb yesterday at practice doing a standing gramby. I know it wasn't standing granby thursday but I thought I'd bring it anyway. .... and then Don Barnet wants me to write him a check today for our tournamnets. Man I can hardly type much less write a check. Now I know how my dog feels minus the flexibility. Signed, Proud Daddy

  10. Sorry Coug, The thread states "Best in Metro". Can't consider Father Ryan as a metro school. I do have to admit Carletello was a great wrestler. Adrian Northfleet was, is and will be for a long time to come THE best wrestler to come out of the Metro school District and possibly one of the best in the state of Tennesee. I heard a comment from a very respected individual in the wrestling community who is not active at this time make the comment that David Mang was the closest that he had seen to Adrian Northfleet. Guys, do you remember his senoir year state finals. He did and inside trip on a kid. Who in the world was doing inside trips in 1988. I consider Adrian to be the Jimmy Hendricks of wrestling. He was innovative and exciting to watch. I am just saddened that he hasn't payed forward the knowlege and skills he has.

  12. ... and what about tape on wrestling shoes. Should we all buy new shoes if there are no string covers?
  13. Ref, Rule 4-4-1 Section 4 Art. 2 A contestant shall not wrestle more than one weight class above that class for which the actual weight at the time of weigh-in, qualifies the competitor. What am I missing?
  14. What about the kid with an Italian last name who won 189 at Fargo? Isn't he a Sophmore this year. I beleive he is from Ne3w Jersey. Andrew Campolinetti I think his name is.
  15. Ray Dunning Fater Ryan High School - Adams State in Colorado
  16. Your question to wise up is an opinion on your part. AAU has done a great job at being a governing body for youth wrestling in Tennessee. In the past in my humble opinion USA backers here in the state have been all about FARGO! Who's going to Fargo? Well heres the diffrence, Youth wrestling - below middle schoolers. There are at least 7 AAU youth wrestling tourneys scheduled in middle TN alone. Most of which will have 250 to 350 wrestlers competing. At these tournaments most wrestlers get 4 matches. DO THE MATH. Where does the wrestling begin, at the youth level not High School. My question to you is why has USA failed. Why did FCI fail? I am not trying to hurt anyones feelings but lets not upset the apple cart. AAU is working. If you were at the PeeWee state tourney at Stone Memorial High last year you would have seen for yourself. Tennessee is more united with AAU than with any other wrestling governing body to date. Facts are facts. Prove me otherwise.
  17. How good will the Letner Slinger match be?
  18. Note to Dad, Love Him, Love Him, Love Him!!! I too will be saddend not to see your son on the mats but as fathers we must love 1st. I wish sometimes too that wrestling was my sons sport of choice. Football seems to be the sport of choice for him. Who know's maybe he'll be 5' - 6" and play running back for Oregon State! LOL! For now I will assure him that wrestling will help him be a better football player like Stephen Neal or Lorenzo Neal. But in all things I will love him 1st. All of these basketball haters, well OK! It's not my sport of choice either but if my son decided to play basketball instead of wrestle. My butt would be riding those bleachers for 4 quarters just as hard as I do for 6 minutes. Love him dad and what ever path he choses to go love him for the choice he made! Your Friend, Proud Daddy
  19. Bogey, Like your enthusiasm but keep our Wilson County Boyz on the mats and off the message boards! Proud Daddy
  20. The Newmans did well for Adrian as well. That whole group with Michael Murry, Mike Newman and a few other Hunters Lane wrestlers. By the way, I heard that they were closing Ewing Park. What a great feeder program that was back in the mid 80's. Coach H made great kids out of that program. You should know!
