  1. I agree COUGARHATER… you shouldn’t even acknowledge these clowns after they have lost to the same East team that THS held to only 5 points in the entire first half!!!! Talk about the butt of the conference… that’s two shots made in a whole half of play!! PITIFUL!!!! And central lost to East??! We will see how good you are if we get to play you in the Arbys … Oh my bad …. YOU WEREN’T INVITED!!! There’s only room in a tournament like the Arbys for one DOORMAT TEAM, and East has already claimed that spot!!!!
  2. White Station will not be in the Arby’s this year… and Twin WHO!!! That was supposed to be a joke … wasn’t it??!! I have to agree with VFANATIC. The Vikings will give the Toppers a game this year. They will probably meet for the first time this year in the Arby’s.
  3. I’m sorry if you were offended by my post, by I said that I was being realistic… not politically correct like you have chosen to be! If you’re an AAU coach (and your team has made it to the State Championship level) THEN YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT … you’re just afraid to admit it. That’s what happened to THS’s and DB’s football teams. We tell these kids that they’re at the top of their respective sports … but in fact the majority of them can’t hold a candle to the competition outside our region. Instead … I think we should give these kids more credit than we do and TELL THEM THE TRUTH!!!! Instead of sitting back all four years thinking that they are in good shape, only to be surprised when the scouts don’t come knocking… they will get of their butts and improve their skill levels so that they and their respective teams can compete out side North East TN. So you continue to be everybody’s buddy. I choose to possibly make some enemies in the effort to speak the truth and challenge these athletes to up the level of GREATNESS in this area…. And to let the rest of the state know that we to have GREAT athletics here in these hills!!!!!!!!!!!!! By the way … God has blessed me AND my family beyond what we deserve ... and I get on my knees EVERY night to thank him!! Thank you. thumb
  4. We’re obviously on the same side COUGARHATER but I have to disagree with you on a couple of points. I don’t think that it’s fair to put DB’s shortcomings on Lamont. He is obviously a man amongst boys on this years DB team but coach Morgan doesn’t have the b@lls to make him a starter this early in the season. There’s no one on that team that can hit the boards (offence or defense) like Lamont can even at 70%. Maybe if they level with Lamont and let him know what an important role he has to play on this team this year…. It might make a difference in his effort. Believe me … I’m not a Lamont fan, but I know talent and athletic ability when I see it….. and when I don’t see it. That brings me to my next point. Blackwell is an average player at best!! Yes he is one of DB best players… but in my book a “real good player” would be looking at four more years of basketball somewhere… FREE of charge. I have a feeling that’s not the case for Mr. Blackwell. I’ve been involved in AAU in one way or the other for several years. I’ve seen what a “real good player” looks like!!! Not trying to be disrespectful… just realistic.
  5. Don’t flatter yourselves Greenville fans. I don’t think this is such a big deal for the HILL. Science Hill by at least 15
  6. My fault…. BUCK Van Huss. Anyway… you get my point…. CHEATERS NEVER WIN!! It’s going to take a whole lot of home games for the Indians to finish over 4th in the conference this year!!!
  7. Cost of tickets for my family to see the Tennessee High vs. DB game tonight…… $15 Halftime refreshments……… $5.50 Watching the score keeper and the referees add time on the clock in the closing minutes of tonight’s game in a pitiful last ditch effort to pull out the 100th win for coach Charley Morgan………………………… PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!! LOOK OUT Jefferson Co because YOU are the next to play DB in the dreaded BUC VAN HUSS dome…. And their going to get that 100th win for Charley one way or THE OTHER!!!! ROLL TRIBE
  8. Brace yourselves DB fans because tonight was only one of the two L’s you will be receiving this week… GET USE TO IT!!! thumb
  9. Shout out from this THS Viking fan!!! Great team Great program and Great season!!! CONGRADULATIONS and way to REPRESENT!! thumb
  10. Are you sure thats was MEN'S basketball because i think both DB and Tennessee High could put up way more than that score. 825458526[/snapback] My fault… It was only the jamboree.
  11. What’s the deal with Science Hill this year? I understand several of the players aren’t taking to well to the new coach??!
  12. My fault… I guess? THS did play DB this year but it was in the jamboree @ East high school on the 18th of this month. This is a quote from the Bristol news paper- “Terrill scored 12 points Thursday as THS stopped Dobyns-Bennett 23-19 in double-overtime.”
  13. If I’m not mistaken THS beat DB in overtime in a tournament a couple of weeks ago. THS was playing without their star point guard Johnson.
  14. WE WERE COMPLETELY OUT CLASSED LAST NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There’s no other way to put it. The myth is true…. IT’S A WHOLE DIFFERENT WORLD OF FOOTBALL ON THE OTHER SIDE OF MORRISTOWN!!!!!!! I’m so imprested with that Maryville team I’m almost at a loss for words. And it’s not because they have so many great athletes because outside that Incredible Offensive Line and the Quarterback that seems to have a LASER SCOPE mounted on his helmet, no other player or even their jersey numbers stand out (of course I was only able to see them for a little over two quarters). EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THOSE KIDS gives it all they got EVERY SINGLE PLAY… unbelievable!!!! The execution on offence and the tenacious ball pursuit on defense is something I have NEVER seen out of ANY team in Upper East Tenn.!!! I could go on and on and on but I will end by saying… I think THS players, coaches, and fans walked away from that game last night with a whole new outlook of what HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL is suppose to be like. I’m talking about … the level of play, the band, the cheerleaders, the student section, the coaching, and the preparation of the players and the coaching staff. Don’t get me wrong…. Tennessee High is as close as it gets to that level of tradition in UET, and I’m VERY proud of that. WE SET THE STANDARD IN THIS AREA with out a doubt! But I hope we are able to raise that level to that of which I witnessed in Maryville last night in the near future!!! To the THS TEAM I’d like to say…. WE STUNK UP THE FEILD in every way last night!!!!! As good as Maryville is they’re not 49 points better than the VIKINGS!! If you look at it any other way you’re only fooling yourself. I don’t have anything positive to say about last night so I will leave it at that. The Viking coaches and players have given all of THS a historical season to be proud of!! I for one am proud of our coaching staff for the team they have put together and for the way they have represented our school and community all year long. To the SENIORS… you have paved the way to practically uncharted territory for THS. You guys will go down in history as the GREATES team our school has seen since 1972. Don’t get use to it though, because I’m betting it won’t take that long for coach Stubbs and the boys to give us another trip to Maryville!!! GREAT season guys and as far as the last game is concerned… KEEP YOUR HEAD UP… what don’t kill you only makes you better!!! thumb
  15. You’re a Moron!!! Nothing you said made any sense.
  16. Excuse my ignorance… but how far did the 98 Cyclones go in the playoffs??? Did they play in the State Championship game?

  18. What radio station can I hear the game on in Maryville?
  19. None of the Maryville or THS players that will be on the field tonight participated in high school football before 1999 so they had no contribution to the success or lack there of in the years before that. Even the most senior players of this THS team have only had 3 other opportunities to advance to see competition outside UET. To make a statement about either of these teams before they were able to contribute doesn’t count. Does that make any sense?
  20. Hello 03… I hope you had a Happy Turkey Day also! I’ve heard a lot about the difference in the level of competition between regions 1 and 3 and the fact is that after Powell and Central the competition is very comparable. With that said… the success with the Vikings special teams (in my opinion) is attributed to execution and good coaching!! The 7 returns for scores barley account for 2 of the Vikings return men’s accomplishments and the have Three players that have and will challenge an opponents cover teams every time they touch the ball!! So if you’re looking to Central for a comparison … they obviously fall short of what to expect from THS. 03 you fall on fairly neutral ground so I have little doubt that you bring an objective view to the table… and I respect it as such. But I have to stick to my guns in that the game will be decided by the front lines of these two teams. Only 3 of the past 30 years even deserve consideration in the game tonight and we both know what happened in the last 1 of those 3.
  21. I think your going to be surprised at how well the Vikings defend the pass. The Viking secondary is yet to give up a signal big play over the top!!! That’s no exaggeration! And as I’ve said before the Vikings set a new school record for most interceptions in a season (24 I believe) two games ago. As far as “never defending the quick strike passing attack”… you are right in a sense. There has been no quarterback have enough time to establish a passing attack on the Vikings! Cade is a real good quarterback… not a great one, and I think those big linemen should receive more credit for his success! Bottom line… Maryvilles offensive linemen hold the keys to their success in this game. If they are able to give Cade time he will probably have a good game and the Rebels will wake away with a victory. I look forward in see how you view your comparisons with THS to these other teams after you have actually seen the Vikings play. The funny part is you guys think you know what’s coming and have all the answers. The fact is that YOU haven’t seen or played a team like you are going to see tomorrow!! I have yet to hear any of you mention the special teams of the Vikings. A group that has scored more points than allot of offences in YOUR conference!!! KICK TO US… I DARE YOU!!!!!!!!! By the way… Brandon isn’t the fastest of the THS backs although he is the weapon of choice (for obvious reasons). I guarantee you will remember several names in the THS backfield after this game… win or loose. And believe it or not… a couple of them will be back next year. Good luck to both teams!!! I pray we have an injury free game. thumb Vikings 24 Rebels 17
  22. That was great Tennhighrules!!! There were 4 or 5 pages in a row earlier in this thread that sounded just like that!!!
  23. Very well put CRC!!! Now you see what we THS fans have had to deal with all week long! These Maryville fans have no respect for ANYBODY. It’s not all of them… but it is the majority. Check out the Rebels vs. Vikings thread and you’ll see what I mean. This bunch needs to be brought back down to earth. Good luck to your teams!!! FINAL FOUR (the best of the best 2004) thumb BUT THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Exactly what information would you like to see that’s not on there??
