Did the Melrose's new head coach change the defense? Last year their defense was unreal! Very disciplined and excellent fundamentals. They didn't just man up and send 7 guys on a blitz every play. If the defense is similar to last year, then I see Melrose winning 10-7.

Anybody that has a clue about high school football knows that Maryville and MoWest are quality teams. Both respect each other. Anything can happen in high school football. But assuming both teams bring their A-game, I see Maryville by 10.

Alcoa ain't going to come out and win by two or three TDs. It will be close and I see Tyner pulling this one out. It doesn't matter that Tyner lost to Fulton and McCallie and Alcoa beat Fulton and McCallie. When Alcoa beat those two teams they had Brandon and Rae. Now Alcoa doesn't have them and Duck is nursing a very sore ankle. Not to mention that Cobb and Reid are banged up as well. Tyner has the athletes to win. The season that everybody thought would be 15-0 for Alcoa will be 12-2.

He's done for the year. Alcoa still has a shot to win it all but it will be real tough. No Brandon. No Rae. And some people playing hurt. Tyner might get 'em.

It's no coincidence when a player get ejected twice in a season. BW obviously has a problem. Quit making excuses for him. He needs to get his head on straight and not mess up his chance for a great career at FSU and maybe the NFL.

Wrong. I was at the game. If Helton was hurt it was an in-grown hair. He was all over the field. Maybe he was hurting on Wednesday when his dad said he would be limited during the game? But he must have healed a lot since Wednesday. Helton was moving like always. And like history has shown he and the rest of the team gave a great effort but came up short. GQ and company did a great job.

On the news it said that BW was flagged twice for a personal foul. Obviously when a player get two personal fouls he is ejected. What were the two personal fouls?

Should be a great game! I saw Mo. West on TV and they have a very good RB. If both teams bring their A-game, I like Maryville by 7.

Just like last game Maryville gave Central every chance to stay in the game. But Maryville is so much better it didn't matter. Helton was not injured. I guess coach Helton figured he would try to start a rumor to help his team win. Sorry but it didn't work.

Helton will play. It wouldn't matter if he had two broken hands. But if he is slowed at all by his "injuries" it will make a difference.

That fact that Helton is banged up is pretty big.

Alcoa has not played a team that could give them a game since Sept. 23rd. Yes Alcoa has improved but not as much as they would have had they played in some tougher games. Also the loss of Sykes is huge for the defense. Loudon will keep it pretty close until late in the 3rd quarter. Alcoa 35 Loudon 17.

My bad. I guess that means the starters only scored 70 points rather than 77. But so what if five were defensive TDs? So what if they were all defensive TDs? When a score gets to a certain point in high school football the coach/teacher needs to take starters out. Reid did not take them out when he should have. That is a fact.
