I was at the game and let me tell you...Alcoa cant handle the ball! I am an Alcoa fan on a friends computer. It looked to me like we run real hard to mid court, stop, jump, and just throw the ball...not necessarily to anyone, we just throw it!! Our ball handling was horrible! We dont have anyone that looked confident handling the ball against pressure. We also missed alot of put backs and shots in the paint, but that will come when theyve been on the court more. We better find some guards though! It doesnt matter how quick you are if you cant dribble while your running!

Who all do you think are the best WR's to come through TN high school football???? I dont know about other schools but i think from maryville i gotta go with my biological father from the 1976 championship team William Nelson......he ran a 4.2 40-yd dash..... i think Holt from 2002 and Gaskin from 2003 season

im just gonna say the best from maryville....... danny spradlin (76 championship) (played for Dallas Cowboys)...... Carl Stewart.......and its looking like SIngleton could possibly make that list someday

hey acmoney.......gerald riggs rolled up to maryville a couple of seasons ago and got shut down big time......now im pretty sure that you all dont have anyone like riggs down there.....and we got people just as good as the ones that were shutting him down so make sure u dont forget that.......speed isnt gonna mean anything our ends are gonna force you all to run it up the middle........those little pitches and sweeps are not gonna be allowed (there wont be any 7 or 8 yds per carry on saturday from Melrose) and when our defense forces you up the middle i dont care how fast you are those boys up front are gonna bring you down

well hey ths might have been slaughtered but they accepted it admirably...... we should show them some respect.. i know they talked a lot of crap and got it thrown back in their face which is reward enough but they were good sports by acceptingthe defeat and aknowledging our power and successfulness

hey melrose i think u should show us some respect early........the vikings were all talk like u are now and we sent em home crying....... im not saying that we will blow you out that bad but just keep in mind we've played much better than you and won......two years ago against hillsboro they pushed us around like we were nothing but we came out winners and we had a sophmore qb then that led us there ........he's much older and better now so i think you should just stop now because if u ask central and THS talkin crap the week leading up to the game just deepens the pain of defeat that is inevitable

ths was absolutely pathetic...... didnt carter score on us..... i mean we had our like 8th string in during the 4th quarter.....we shoulda let our band play.....

moyers...... you're exactly right......the biggest football dynasy in maryville is probably the Southerners/ REbs...well now the Lil Rebs too ..... imean no place in TN , probably in america, has such a good football program for children as maryville does..... this rebel team has played with eachother since they were 9 years old...... almost ten years of being together every season....... most of them in the same position they were in during PEEWEE's..... i believe due to this TEAM spirit maryville will pull together and shine in murf and bring us anohter ball.... hey i wanna sit in some box seats...... one of ur posts moyers said u wouldnt be there but now u are saying u are so u need to make ur mind up

with my experience on west tn. teams ive noticed that the west team in the championship tends to be faster, more athletic teams but not thoroughly disciplined.......while the east tn. team tends to be all around with few weak spots and few standouts (in that maryville doesnt rely on stars , everyone contributes and does his own part) and are one of the most disciplined and well-coached team.... this is why i think that maryville will have no problem overcoming melrose if melrose falls into the same category......im not trying to stereotype...only stating my observations

first off i agree with moyers..... we warned you.....and nothing is sweeter than us "self righteous" fans to get to shove it in ur face.....now on the other hand im am very impressed that most of you all nobly gave us respect and accepted the loss wihtout crying about it like John Paul from central......and frankly i dont believe me or a lot of maryville folk would be able to accept it with the sportsmanship you all did........that showed me a lot........but good game kinda and for all you THS fans, not to be a smart a , welcome to maryville.....and this is what HS football is all about baby
