  1. oknative, don't get to upset with the smith county fans. they are still upset about the spanking they took in the playoffs in '99 as goodpasture was on it's way to the gold ball. this happening after the "so call fluke" in the rain earlier that year. i still like goodpasture coming out on top. i can remember when i graduated that people were already talking about this years senior class and how unreal they were going to be, and so far they have lived up to it. don't see why they would stop now.
  2. well us goodpasture fans have no reason to believe mark would do it, same as you believe in your guys we believe in ours. it's easy to make up a lie as big as this to easily spark your team and school, its great board material. but unfortunatly is doesn't matter if mark shaked his hand or not because this is about a football game and not a hand shaking contest. and why in the world would someone from one of the teams be posting on here. i surely hope that the kid that admitted to being a player isn't a big part of the team because that is just stupid and i would pray that no goodpasture player is on here worrying about don't matter a bit opinions of the older supporters of these two schools. for a player to be on here is a big mistake, you can easily let to many things play with your head when the only thing you should be worried about is the game.
  3. actual coaches have said that goodpasture should be playing 5A football, that is quoted in the tennessean if you would like to look it up. Golden Tate won every award imaginable this year in the state of Tennessee (second mr.football, Midstate player of the year, player of the year from every division of the state all over, was named to the army all-american bowl, and was in sports illustrated for crying out loud) so HE IS THE BEST FOOTBALL PLAYER IN THE STATE OF TENNESSEE - NO DISCUSSION!! and i love the sarcasm tornadogold
  4. actually i am a guy, i don't get scared of tornadoes (i've lived through em before and if it's my time to go it's my time to go), and i would wager my house on being able to throw better than you (just trust me) - now i understand that you are afraid of what we have for you this year and that is why you feel the need to get on here on this thread and try and make us fear you already, we don't. we don't care what you say and we don't care about you right now. it's milan for now and we would like to continue our conversation with them without you so please leave. and it's funny how you didn't comment on how any of your other teams could hang with us. thats odd i think.
  5. you know it's funny how some schools love to talk smack about how their certain teams are just amazing. come holla at me when you schools are as good overall as goodpasture. when anyone is. and we have what, 350 students. if you want to keep running your mouth, keep running it all year because i'll be here, name the sport, name the sex.
  6. would someone please tell BCsportsfan that we don't give a darn about what his teams have done. if you want to put it that why i am going to start calling myself DCsportsfan and start pulling for every team in Davidson County. we are really tired of you here on the GOODPASTURE @ MILAN board. go away, you have no friends
  7. i have a family member that plays for goodpasture and is a senior. he isn't the greatest ball player ever, but he gives it what he has. at the end of this season he will forever be done playing football. our you to tell me that he should go in when he gets a chance to play and concede to the fact that the game is over and the offense is only going to take a knee and he doesn't get to be part of a real play. we are talking about high school kids here, they play ball and enjoy and that is it. i don't care who tries to say different but i completely understand why kids should get to play out the ball game. the sycamore situation is completely different. when a team still has starters in and the game is close, but over, i understand taking a knee and going on to play the next week. but with goodpasture, they will almost never take a knee due to to fact that at the end of the game players are in that don't get that much playing time and they should get to play every bit possible. martin calls short pass plays, but if corners are going to play in the face of our recievers they are taught to switch their route to a fade and that is what they are going to do. i have no remorse for goodpasture putting up points and playing the way they do and quite frankly i love the way they go about themselves. starters come out at 35 points up and the second and third.... strings come in and PLAY the rest of the game. trying to tell kids that don't get to play that much that when they do they just need to take it easy and don't kill the opposing team is ridiculous. it's not that we run up the score or hate the people we play. we just realize that all 70 some odd players we have work equally as hard and all get a chance to go out and play to their fullest potential.
  8. also a game hasn't been played on in the rain in quite some time, maybe even the first game of the season in '04, so it should be ready for what ever happens
  9. Goodpasture's starting five Lance Locke - Senior - 6'3'' - 285 lbs Quinton Groves - Senior - 6'0'' - 270 lbs David McClurkan - Senior - 6'2'' - 235 lbs Mark Fisher - Senior - 6'5'' - 285 lbs (the best of the group) Wilson Emebunor - Junior - 6'4'' 300 lbs probably the best, most athletic and physical group of lineman in the state
  10. goodpasture may have the best line in state this year - they are huge, physical, and seasoned with 4 seniors and a junior starting for them, and mark fisher in my mind is wihout a doubt the best lineman in tennessee this year. he's 6'4(1/2)" weighs in the 290 range and i gaurantee he is the fastest man in the state for his size (not sure of any recent times but its fast) - could play either side of the ball next year at wherever he wants to, hopefully he'll take himself up to good 'ol rocky top
  11. i tell you what, goodpastures field isn't going anywhere wet or dry so you bring your boys we'll bring ours and we'll let them play, but yes i see the field being dry for gametime - even if we have to bring a chopper out and and dry the field off!
  12. http://www.weather.com/weather/weekend/USTN0308?from=search the above is a link to the weather channel and their forecast for friday in madison, TN. sorry, doesn't appear to be much raining going to be going on - better get ready for the track meet!
  13. terribly sorry to hear the news, goodpasture faithful will keep ya'll in our hearts and prayers
  14. be serious!!! goodpasture by more than i care to count to
  15. being a goodpasture graduate i would consider myself a little partial but i think that one of the new backs they have in there stable over there (a group of backs that put up 500 yards on the ground last weekend against a very good PJPII team that also has a very solid sophomore in wesley tate) is quite good. Benji Cunningham is his name and though he's only had 15 carries in limited play he's seen the endzone 3 times and has totaled 322 yards (thats 21.5 yards a carry).
  16. this is jay...i didnt post that either...i agree keep an eye on acker and liles...theyll be great...thanx for everyone taking up for me...have a good one yall
  17. Thunder got in by finishing #3 in classic pool play in Houston last year. The Franklin Rage got in by winning the Division 2 nationals last year.
  18. Not only did she pitch on a broken leg but she pitched 5 or 6 (cant remember) in one day on a broken leg and won the champoinship game.
  19. Does aanybody know who made all region yet?
  20. ryano44 have you been living under a rock for the past two years. Pat is the best player in the state and the number two reciever in the nation. He has had consecutive 1000 yard seasons and will have another this year. there is no at the high school level that can cover him.
  21. your absolutely correct duece253 we are the best team in state and we plan on proving it
  22. good call dt65 patrick is without a doubt one of the best around. rogers may be fast but speed cant always do it for you. he was having a little trouble in state going across the middle and catching the ball. as for the qb situation for the cougars edward porter will probably be better than janco. turner runs a 4.4, on the other side #83 runs a low 4.5. better watch out for the cougars in 05. they are boing to drop more bombs than the air force.
