  1. Isn't that earlier than usual for practice? I know track runs until the first of May and I believe baseball does too.
  2. SSReb... Yep. Six on the table, NAIA thru Div 1. A couple of really good ones with offers that are fantastic for track. Has his eyes set on one in particular, who has yet to get solid. He has informed all the football potentials that he has hung up the cleats. Spikes are still out. Got to see him run last year and it is a thing to behold. Would be great to see someone from South beat the big city boys and win a title. Maybe Pickwell and Watterson on the podium for South this year? Yeah. TH also has a top three hurdler (sp?) on the female side. Worth an admittance fee (if there is one) just to see those two run.
  3. Does anyone know the schedules yet? If it is what it was then South plays West at home and @ Greeneville? You have them losing both? Bound to pick up one of those. And you have them losing three out of the of the DB, DB, SH, TH games? All these except DB-Gray away this year? I say they win at least one of those. Preferably SH. South 8-3 (5-2)
  4. I don't know, but when they are being spoken to, "The One" does it like this: (I love this stuff!)
  5. Yeah what about Zanoni? Too Small? Nah.. If anybody @ South gets offered it should be him. MVP.. Hope the coaches spent some time helping him. Could be they, including Taylor, have had enough football? If so good for them. They will do well in the real world. Watterson is probably looking for a call from a track team. Especially after he finishes top 3 in the state this year in the 110 hurdles.
  6. Do you know what the schedule will be for 2010? And I wouldn't print up to many of them T Shirts.
  7. I agree that we will see Pudding. But as far as Hunter calling plays for Stacy, Carter did allow him to call plays at times but Hunter knew he had to call what Stacy wanted. He did not have freedom. I can tell you he disagreed with many calls in crucial games. However he knew he must tow the line. Stacy was a master of bringing the QB/WR relationship together by August. It was always pins and needles in spring ball and even entering summer practice. BUT, he always pulled it together and very strategically I might add by Jamboree time. It was what mattered to Stacy. Carter's claim to fame. Carter relied on his RB's to come to him with skills. Not much effort was spent on RB's. For 2009 there was untold devistation. With tragedy of Knox West, the loss of the Saint, the loss of the Deuce, and the loss of Watterson Stacy pulled a rabbit out of the hat to finish the season as he did. Every team has to endure the same with Sensabaugh being case in point. It's part of the game. But, without those happenings South would have been a conference and a state contender. I think you will see the same South but as well a different South for 2010. And part of that will be Jordan calling plays. Sam will most definately have a hand as well but Hunter won't have to look over his shoulder. My only concern is if Hunter can produce the same quality of passing game as Stacy. Hunter is a very good QB coach and a good RB coach as well so I have faith. But Stacy was a master at it. Looks like common sense, conjecture, analysis and opinion to me. You go CompuMan. But he does have a crystal ball. See the C-Man below: ..
  8. Eric Rowe. Knows the kids. Already at South. Wants to win bad. Bound to give him a look, if he wants it.
  9. I remember him from Green Acres. Seems like he always had some junk to sell. That would be Haynie not Haney. While there is some resemblance, I do not believe they are one and the same?
  10. Amen brother. Just havin a little fun. ps Are you sure God didn't guide me to post that?
  11. Ok...I'm ready to reevaluate my allegiances and alliances and I definately won't be bashing the new SH head prophet/messiah......at least not today. Forget the money, the new field, the 2100 world class atheltes. To paraphrase Carter on TV: "God called me to Science Hill". Implied has to be that he told him to get the heck out of South while he can.
  12. Well, Well, Well. Soap Opera stuff. Wife: I've found someone better than you. Husband: No, please don't go. You're my whole life. I can't go on without you. Wife: Sorry, they have more money, a bigger, newer house and they'll adore and praise me. Husband: But honey, we've been together so long and been through so much together. Wife: Too late. My mind's made up. Maybe you can come visit my new house next year. Boyfriend: Whoa, I think that lady over there suits my needs better....sorry. Wife: OH my dear husband. I never really wanted to leave you. I'm coming home. Husband: Nah.
  13. Carter on vacation this week????? Yes No workouts or team meetings etc?????????? Nope Preparing for Kiffin (What an a%@hole) style riots??????? No The kids just want to know something and get on with it. If they aint working out on their own, they're behind. Get them boys a coach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. The " news that goes around at the Eastman" is usually about 10% correct. Has anyone heard directly from, the Sciense Hill AD, or any of the coaches being interviewed ? If so please step forward and state your real name and tell us what you know. Waco, Stacy and Ralph is a done deal..mark it down.As for Haney he may have to stay at South if they can't find a teaching position for him.If he stay's at South he takes over the football program. Well then. The people at the banquet will be the first to know. If he says hes staying then that's that. If he doesn't mention it, adios amigo and can't wait to open up some woop a#@* on the Hill this fall. South should know every play.
  15. "Apply directly to the forehead, apply directly to the forehead.......", dang my head hurts. If Carter has the players at the hill or at South he will do well. He will get them in shape and love will flow. If he doesn't have the players he will not win the big games but the love will flow. A quote frome the Columbia head coach at half of the South game on the radio.: "We know everything they are doing, we got this one". I thought what a jerk, but... Can ya feel the love flowin???????????????
  16. He won't beat DB at the hill either. Unless they get a better feeder program. Don't look for Carter to help in that regard. You won't see much out of the box thinking and actions from Carter once he's got his pattern established. Maybe one of thos Nelsons will run the offense. Carters great with the players, though, they love the man.
  17. I don't necessarily think it would make carter look bad. As others have said, Science Hill isn't exactly a glamorous football job. It would be pointless for Carter, or anyone, to take the job if he didn't feel he would have the necessary components to turn Science Hill into a winning program. Being a Science Hill alum, I wouldn't be disappointed in either choice. I can see benifits to both, as well as potential problems. Turner is obviously a proven coach, even had success at science hill in 92-93. Given he has been coaching for three decades, the only concern I have is how much more does he have left in the tank. Carter is the current hot commodity in NETN, but it is not known if his recent success can be repeated on a consistant basis. From a Sh point of view Carter is the man. If the above is true it does make Carter look bad, either way. I don't believe it though.
  18. Soooooooo......If JC agrees then Stacy guts the coaching staff of the 4 best assistants and he's gone. If not he stays and acts like nothin happened. Nothing to see here, be moving along now. Wow, no offense but can't think they would let that info out to the mortals. Either way it goes down Carter looks kinda bad. a
  19. May I be the first to say your posts are some of the most hilarious I have read. You're a hoot. Funny. ROFLMAOTICSSYMA. Yee haw and all that.
  20. Beware the silver tongued devils. The high and righteous. You go Mom.
  21. All my people say I ain't too smart and this just proves it.
  22. Well has this thing been advertised? Have candidates been IDed? That was written on the 1st or 2nd.
  23. Yep,I'm the Redneck raised right in the same neighborhood as you...And at least someone wants our Coach...You guy's couldn't pay Science Hill to take Barney..lol Now thats funny!!
  24. The band puts more hard work in than the football players. I Love the Band. Before the game, during timeouts, Halftime. Not during game play. Simply bad sportsmanship. The TSSAA football rules comittee meets in July? Here is a feedback form http://www.tssaa.org/IntForms/feedbackform.cfm Don't let the band interfere! Good for NCAA good for TSSAA
