  1. And UC honestly has no shot against Mitchell. They dont rebound well and when the game slows down, can they make enough shots to keep the game close??? I say no.
  2. UC dominated GC tonight in both phases. I keep saying Gibson County is gonna be good......next year. They have talent, but they are so young. Peyton, Pierce, and Mac are 3 solid guys to have on your team
  3. Inconsistentency. This team in a nutshell. Good thing is they will get tested here soon with the Murray tourney and South Side potentially in the HUB classic. They may need to take a loss here and there to really get better. Going undefeated into the postseason might not be good. Ask Haywood how that turned out last year.
  4. Also just got bracket for HUB classic. South Side girls and Gibson County girls could meet in the semifinals on Dec 29th.
  5. 55-50. UC really shot themselves in the foot with turnovers and a few missed point blank shots. GC didnt have a great game either. The defense broke down at times and UC got some good looks but couldnt convert. Bri played good tonight, and so did Erin. All in all, good win for GC, still unbeaten at 13-0, but can still improve.
  6. Rumor is, he is the son of one of UTM's assistant mens basketball coaches
  7. Yes, Brandi Beasley is the real deal. Heard from a few reliable Memphis sources that UConn has major interest in her. And post wise, Ridgeway will give South Side problems. But, nonetheless a good measuring stick for the Lady Hawks, who IMO should be the favorite in 14-AA this season and with hopes of making a long postseason run
  8. Jackson South Side plays Ridgeway December 23rd. Biggest game in a few years for the Lady Hawks to see where they stand against a team that likely will be in the ESPN RISE preseason Top 25 Girls rankings and with 3-4 high level D1 recruits.
  9. In AA Lexington, Haywood, and Douglass. After that, its very average this year. Lots of graduation losses and a South Side transfer to Florida.
  10. 14-AA and Region 7 is a toss-up. Lexington will be the clear favorite. With Nick Marshall back, and 4 starters returning they have a good shot to get to the Boro. Haywood and Covington are the next most likely. Fayette-Ware is a underperforming team. So much talent, but so inconsistent. South Side will still be solid, but anything past the region semis is a stretch. Chad Culbreath could take Ripley on a magical run. He is a special talent. Liberty will get 18-20 wins and play that stingy defense. Milan is poised to make a huge leap in Year 2 under coach Williams. And Westview will be better than last year
  11. Just saw that Heckert plays for Team Slink. Thats a big time AAU program, she should be getting looks now as we speak.
  12. Yeah i really don't take much into summer games, teams use them to break in the new freshmen and players who didn't play much. But i do agree that Madison Heckert and the Martin kid from Bradford are two of the better players in the area, really sad they don't play for a high exposure AAU team in Memphis, they would be known nationally and not just to West TN folks
  13. Same suspects in A in West TN: starts with Middleton. Joy and Faulkner are one of the better duos in the entire region and they could will power the Lady Tigers to the Boro, also Rachelle Parks and Nia Rhyan s will be big factors as well. Then i think Gibson County is the second best, but how will losing Cara Beth Holt and Sarah Beth Mullins affect them?? Bri Fields has to be the go-to player this year for the Lady Pioneers. Dresden and Greenfield both should be not be overlooked. And West Carroll has Madison Heckert, who is really not getting the love from D1 coaches because West Tennessee isnt really a place that D1 coaches know about. But she is very talented and could lead West Carroll to a deep run in the postseason. Other than that, not too much else, Union City has Raven Fair back, but lose everyone else. Humboldt is still 4-5 years away from even being competitive. Lake County is extremely young now and will need time to develop. Bruceton has Shominque Pearson, but no other players. Pretty much 5 solid A teams in West TN. Everyone else is in rebuilding mode.
  14. Just confirmed from South Side assistant boys coach that Jaylen Barford will be signing in the next week with Motlow State in Tullahoma. Good situation for him as he wont be asked to contribute heavy right away, as he will back-up the #1 ranked JUCO PG Dequan Miller. Also Terry Holt from East Nashville will be signing there as well.
  15. Gibson Co. and Westview are gonna be set for the next 4-5 years. Loads of tremendous talent with underclassmen and players coming from the middle schools
  16. He should have a decision in the next few weeks. Think Missouri State-West Plains is the favorite, Columbia and Southwest TN also in his list. Grades are his issue, thats why he didnt sign in the late signing period
  17. Who looked good?? A,AA,and AAA. Went to South Side's team camp and it was some good teams in the field. South Side, Dyer County, Lexington, Liberty, Creek Wood, and the 13-AA's (Milan, Crockett County,Westview)and also Ridgeway
  18. rumors that Union assistant Kayla Hudson would be Westview's top candidate.
  19. I have a few, feel free to add Chloe Roberts-Scotts Hill (Jackson State) JUCO Jackie Hudson-Union City (Shorter University) D2 Inesha Claybrooks-Halls (Dyersburg State) JUCO Christana Moore-Dyersburg (Jackson State) JUCO Quinn Thomas-North Side (Jackson State) JUCO Lakeshia Marcell-Liberty Tech (Jackson State) JUCO Amber Fair-Union City (Union) D2 Mallorie Sweat-McNairy (Blue Mountain) NAIA Kaley Leyhue-Westview (Southeast Missouri State) D1 A lot of unsigned players still on the board. I know a few more that should have a chance to play somewhere. Lots of talent in West Tennessee.
  20. Don't think he will get outcoached. Im pretty sure no other Memphis coaches other than Todd Day and Cedric Henderson have NBA experience. He's been around some of the greatest coaches in basketball history, so that wont be a problem, and he was a all-pro point guard, so he knows what he is doing.
  21. So you are telling me a AAU high-school team, which he will probably have, cant compete with Findlay Prep and Montverde???
  22. Yes East will be a national powerhouse in 2 years max, the new CPA of Memphis. He's gonna be able to get ANY kid in the Memphis area to come play for him. He will have all the big schools on speed dial for his players
  23. Missouri, Alabama, Mississippi, Kentucky, and Arkansas, all have 6 classes for basketball, heck Missouri is smaller than Tennessee. 1A through 6A. 10-15 teams per area. So maybe Region 7 in 4A would be Madison Co, and would look like this(basketball): South Side, Milan, Haywood, Crockett County, Fayette-Ware, Bolivar, Lexington, McNairy. Could be very interesting for football and basketball. as Milan and Lexington would play in football, and South Side would get Haywood in basketball. More money, better games IMO.
  24. CPA doesn't have to play those teams, but just giving a general idea of the route they should go. AA is being mocked by how big a gap it is between CPA and the next best AA team, its an embarrassment to Tennessee high school basketball. A AAU high school team beating up on AA teams that have 1/10th of the athletes they do. South Side and Manassas are talented too, but sadly they are both playing for bascially second place.
  25. CPA needs to just go independent in boys basketball. Findlay Prep, Oak Hill, Prime Prep, Montverde Academy etc. are all basketball juggernauts just like CPA is and they dont play in a high school association either. That way CPA can just play a national schedule against teams just as good as team. Beating up on AA teams that dont have the athletes to run with you for 4 quarters is just not good basketball, period.
