Butchie, if you dont think that defense was better than last year's defense, then you didnt follow Westview throughout the year. You know I did. It's totally different. I will say this, Coach has to get a few things ironed out on offense. The Westview team that got beat by McKenzie last year did not show up at any other game. We got beat by other teams, but we didnt play that sorry at another game. I am not taking anything away from McKenzie's season, they had a great year, but Westview had a terrible game against them last year. I dont think Westview's offense had a great night last night, even though we scored 34 unanswered points, but that will come around. The team is much improved overall, and the season will show that we are overall a much stronger and more mature team than last year.

Westview is solid. They have some kinks to work out on Offense, but the Defense is fierce. Huntingdon had a very bad night, but they were forced into much of that by the defense they were contending with. Westview is coming after McKenzie next. There will not be a replay of next year!!! It's Westview's YEAR!

Westview is taking the victory over Hutingdon. Our guys are ready to play! Let's go CHARGERS! I am tired of hearing about Milan and Crockett County and Huntingdon and McKenzie! There's no reason why Westview cant be ON TOP this year. Let's GO ALL THE WAY! IT IS OUR YEAR TO TAKE IT BABY!!

I think Westview has something to prove this year. They got to be hungry finally. I am looking for the Chargers to take the Mustangs on their own field. I say the score will be close and Westview will come out on top.

You're correct, it is. My point was it doesnt matter after football starts...if it's in the 3A section - i dont care if the thread is titled MEMPHIS CITY FOOTBALL, somebody from ALCOA is going to infiltrate and basically tell everybody there's no sense in playing football in the great State of TN cause they have to meet Alcoa eventually. I thought I would bust in on an Alcoa thread. I think I will bust in every Alcoa thread all season and see how those folks like it. Bet they dont.

Have you really been wonderin that for a while now, or has it just been too long since there's been a new thread about Alcoa on the 3A board?! I am all for team pride, but I am not looking forward to another season where every single 3A thread is invaded by Alcoa. We know you have won it every year. Great, we know. We all know, and we're proud of the kids who have worked hard, but give the rest of us a chance to discuss our teams on the 3A threads....without weaving ALCOA into every one of the discussions....i mean, obviously, nobody has a chance in the world against your team and we all know it. heck, i dont even know why anybody in the state bothers to have a season...in any classification, because Alcoa can beat 'em. We got it already. Dont mean to be rude, I just want to participate and allow others to participate without the Alcoa folks monopolizing the boards. I have been thinking that for years and I have finally said it....and i bet i aint the only one who's thought it.

Butchie - your posts are always are always purty good! that's why i posed the question to you and duck. i am from westview, and i am not upset he left. he wasnt going to get the starting job until his senior year. that is the way it is. i know Comer will do what's best...as all coaches will do for their team! I know he feels the support from your town and as a friend of his and the family, i can tell you i appreciate that. it will be a bag of mixed feelings when the View takes on the Rebs! Dont get me wrong...I want the VIEW to take it!! but as a person, I am glad to see that a kid can change schools and feel welcome. that's a sign of class! anyway, just wanted your insight.

Yea, I heard the match up at APSU was not really suitable. You cant tell until your team takes the field during the season and even then, you never know. I just know you guys follow the team really close, so i figured you would have as much of an educated guess as anyone. it will be interesting and i look forward to seeing how it unfolds!

Who do you think Comer will start at QB? I know it's just speculation and nobody knows. I am just interested in your opinion. I have followed the comments throughout the passing league season and there have not been strong comments one way or the other. Of course, they could each have their own strengths and will develope as the season goes on, but as the starter...who do you see taking the field?

Arent the Rebels on the road to Westview this year?

Is this kid going to be a Senior? Has he been contacted by D1 coaches, been visited, etc? Always very interested in our West TN kids getting that kind of interest if it is true.

I think Westview will be in the hunt. They have a big group of seniors coming back. Their quarterback is a 3 year starter for them. I dont think you can talk about the area without including Westview. This may be the the year that Milan is down and Westview wins over them. That should be an away game for the Bulldogs. You have to look at each team and see if it's a building year, and I think Milan is in a building year. Not that they wont be strong - they may be, but I think compared to others who are not in building years, they may not be powerhouse strong. I think Westview is being overlooked in the top 3.

My heart goes out to this family, the community and the team. I cannot imagine the loss. Prayers from West Tennessee.

Westview represents the rural west this year.

Westview will be strong and there will be no repeat of last year's slow start. these young men are ready to bring true respect to Westview football. the rising senior class is very large and lead by their quarterback. they are solid and have many returning starters, and many underclassmen who played important roles this past season. they wont be losing to mckenzie and camden, and they are tired of losing to milan. i think westview's year is here!

You have a good coach and hard working kids. They proved that against their opponents (including us...westview) this year!! I have no doubt the best kid for the spot will get the spot! Zeick will have to work hard to get the job, and if he does then he deserves it. Best of luck to the Rebels...except against the Chargers, of course.

Milan will be ok next year - too good a program for the talent to fall off too bad. Lots of new faces but some pretty good talent. Hard to believe they're not in your top ten but that's fine. I would look for the Bulldogs to take a loss or two early in the year and then see if they can get things rolling for a postseason run deep into the playoffs. IMO - Westview will be the team to beat coming out of the Western half of the bracket next year. They return almost everyone and have quite a few 3 year starters. Manassas will be decent and Camden will also but Milan & Westview to rise to the top in 2010. I agree - westview has some strong seniors that are returning for their 3rd years as starters. Their qb is a big returning talent for them. They also have a strong sophomore class, and a good kicker.

and who is this back up quaterback? i pretty sure westview does not have a good backup quaterback.. this "back-up" was the second string sopho more. he hardly ever played - that's why you dont know who he is. westview has a very strong qb and this kid wasnt going to start until his senior year, so he moved to mckenzie.

you are correct...he did not move to mckenzie to stand on the sidelines. he could have stood on the sidelines at westview and would have been the starter in 2011. he moved to mckenzie and is going to school there so he can play. he did not play any other position at westview which would say that as a sophmore, he is not a standout athlete. the qb at westview started as a soph and coady plays sophs when they are talented. it is not a rumor. only the coach and the kid and the parents knows what the deal is, but they just built a huge house in martin, his dad has a practice in martin, they have other kids in school in martin. IMO you dont move a kid out of westview to mckenzie to stand on the sidelines when they can do that where they are.
