You want to play good teams that will play you. South Pitt will play anybody and they are good. That is why they win State Championships. They played Polk a much larger school than Signal this year. They also played Central this year a 4A play-off team with over 1,000 and drilled them. This year Baylor has played Tyner and in the past played Boyd. Why do you think Maryville 6A plays Alcoa 3A. They are good match-ups of local teams that produce good gates.

Congratulations Eagles. You guys did it. I also want to say that Trinity was a good well coached football team that played really hard. They beat a really good McKenzie team last week that was as good as any team in 2A . Signal was fortunate to get through a tough quad. My hat is also off to FCS, Trousdale and Boyd. I was also fortunate enough to meet folks from all the schools over the last few weeks. The media support from Chattanooga was great. Ward Gossett and Steven Hargis from the Free Press as well as Gerald Riggs from News 3 were all there on the field. We couldn’t get Hargis to wear any SM apparel though, but he has been good to the Mountain folks. Also, congrats to South Pitt on winning another championship. Were all rooting for you on Friday. We look forward to getting together next year for our game…and start the CoachT smack down. I know your kids will be ready.

Get your coach to play SM on week 3 at your place.

This is very true statement. I know our kids that play dont read this stuff. Coach T is fun for the fans, students, hasbeens, neverbeens, moms and dads. I would say most folks have fun gigging each other. Again, I would say most players do not read any of this stuff, but it is entertaining to say the least. It's been a fun year and there are some real funny charaters out there. With that said, I hope all the kids partcipating over the next three days have fun and play well and enjoy the experience. All the teams have had very special seasons to date. The coaches and players will never forget the experience of the state finals.

not sure... he's been here since the school opened. he came out a little late on the first year when they played JV. He was not overly impressive then, but he turned into a really good player and leader. He's a good kid and has done well at Signal.

Hale should be there! He is one heck of a player!

The Washington kid is a great player and TC has several other kids that will make this a challenge for 2A Signal Mountain, which by the way is not even close to 4A enrollment. The team will respect all TC players not just Washington. They will work hard this week and prepare like every other week. TC beat a really good football team Friday and they deserve to be in Cookeville, just like SM does. By the way, the Robinson kid is an excellent football player that had a weapon named Hale in the backfield with him last year. That duo was something special to watch and equally hard to defend. The Hale kid is best back in 2A this year and should be up for Mr. Football.

FCS wore us out in baseball. I expect they will be the team to beat this year. I also expect them to be the team to beat in 2a in football next year. We were fortunate to win that one.

Who's taking away from TCA accomplished? Grow some skin buddy. We catch smack every week for the last 2 years. I may be an idiot but all kids that go to a private schools are recruited based on what the schools has to offer...otherwise there wouldn't be any students. look at your web page

Why do you care? We have right at 600 this year and 430 last year, but we have the same number of kids we had on last year's roster. TCA will be the third private school we will play in the play-offs with around 250 kids in their HS. Its obvious the small private schools have athletes and should have a multiplier. We know we will have our hands full and it will be another battle. The Washington kid will be the best athlete on the field next Saturday. I dont think he is zoned for TCA.

This cannot be a real bucdaddy...even if you thought this...no father would say these words to stir an opponent...thanks anyway...as if we dont have enough motivation.

You are right... I hope you win by 50 Friday. Our boys are ready to go and compete against a good Buc team. They had a really good practice today and were up tempo.

This game did go down to wire and it could have gone either way, but this one play did not determine the outcome. There were several plays that could have impacted the outcome in the game. On one of South Pitts TD it was evident their TE was down field 20 yards illegally when he was not the end man on the line scrimmage on his side. It should have come back and killed their drive. That could also be sent to TSSAA, but it was just missed. You have play through the calls that dont go your way. I will say SP is a really good football team and has our players respect just like Boyd does. Good luck Pirates...represent our district well on Friday.

I dont think a score was mentioned from the JV game 2 years ago and it does not have any bearing on this game other we played with the same kids you call tranfers. We all know you have better kids including a stud at quarterback, SEC lineman, great running backs and linebackers and best coaches in town. Not to mention your play-off experience. We are just homers that are lucky to be able to play with Boyd. Boyd is whipping everybody in the play-off and Signal Mountain still not played a team that has a defense in the play-offs. We know we got an easy draw and still had trouble. Friendship Christian and Trousdale are no match for the powers of Unaka, Hampton and Wartburg. Tell your boys to take it easy on us. At least you dont a dreaded creekbank.

With the exception of one kid, we are the same bunch Boyd played in JV two years ago. This transfer talk is really funny coming from private school. When you start a new school all the kids are transferring from somewhere. If we were not winning, transfers would not be an issue. In the future I expect more families will move to the mountain to get top notch public education for their kids and also play a good brand of football. I will say this...one the biggest reasons we have been successful is our boys have been playing together for three years now. We have some good skill kids, but the boys up front get it all started. The o-line is made up with kids who have lived up here since elementary and have each others back. They are not big but are very athletic. They run well and are tough kids that get the job done. They run block and pass block as well as any bunch at the high school level. The good news for us is they are all back next year but one. Same can be said for def line. They all return but one. So go ahead and call them transfers, none of them would be here if we were not lucky enough to a high school.

I know the boys on the mountain are very excited about playing Boyd on Friday. I know Coach Price tried to schedule them for our first two seasons. We blew a good chance to play them last year when Cascade came back to beat us late. Once again Coach Price is trying to get them to play in 2011 and 2012 and we hope it works out. In any event, we finally get our chance to play Boyd in a varsity game. Everyone said we were a joke when we played a JV schedule two years ago and these kids want to earn your respect. Boyd, like South Pitt, FCS and Trousdale all have great tradition, coaches, players and fans. SM is working on the same. This group of kids are 32-2 since our HS doors opened on the mountain, but it does take time to earn respect. We will not take Boyd lightly...we will be ready to play and we expect the same effort from Boyd. Win or lose there will be three Chattanooga area teams in Cookeville. Baylor, South Pitt and the winner of this game. It's been a good year!

Well I gotta go...it was fun. I have to go get my game face on and watch the 1965 Trousdale Highlight reels. It's all the film we got to watch.

we know deep down that is what you want us to do, but guess what?...our middle school team is coming to play. take it easy us. we are not very good. hey we date our cousins. they are not the marrying type.

your also right, they are middle school but they are working to get better. They actually wore full pads this week in practice. they are just terrified of what might happen up there with real football players. They are just happy to be privileged to play on such hollowed ground. i hope your guys dont have any facial hair ot god forbid a tattoo. that may scare us to death.

your right, I think that overrated Signal offense hung 56 on one of the middle school opponents last week from your district. I know we should not have play teams from that level. It gives our offense no credibility at all. We will never get better playing teams like that.

I feel this game is critical. If we win this week I feel we will be in Cookeville. They still have to beat whoever they play the next week, but I personally feel better about that match-up than this weeks game.. I may be way off base.
