SCH may very well win this one but I think Karns will play them much better then they did HVA, I remember the last trip to SCH when we were suppose to get beat and walked out of there with a big win and I will be the first to say that SCH had a way better team then Karns both players and for sure coaches, the boys are playing for some pride and i think they will for sure be fired up.

I guess the chances of Karns having success next year will for sure lie on the shoulders of the upcoming juniors, this senior class had succes has freshman and now as seniors, it would have been nice for Karns to have had coach Witt in place and maybe these seniors would have had success all four years but we will never know, next year will require some young men to step up but I think coach Witt and staff are up for the challenge, the best thing is we have a winning season even if everyone wants to say we have not played anyone the truth is HVA had success last year against a week league and have struggled this year, thinking their win against Bearden was big and maybe in years past would have been but they are down as well, just look at the facts HVA won last year with allot of players that was at Karns as freshman and many would have stayed if we would have had a good coaching staff, my point is this Karns may very well fall off next year but thats next year lets enjoy what we have done this year and we will start worrying about 2012 the day after we lose in the PLAYOFFS. you know Dragon all of us over here at Karns could have told you all you needed to know about your D coordinator, i would say if Kurr would hire that guy then you may want to question the others he has hired as well, I hope you guys get it corrected for the kids sake and your program.

WOW Presby28 you got that 1000% right, just take a look while he was at Karns we went 6 and 24 and lost allot of players that may have stayed through the HVA start up, his defense at Clinton can't stop water, HHS do your self a favor and mark that name OFF your list.

37 years of not having much succes going through coach after coach, players leaving for other programs finally we have a winning season, Coach Witt great great job, these seniors have shown what they are about these kids have been great and they have changed some things for the Karns community, look forward to seeing Karns in the post season. The best thing of all for this program is they have a coach that cares about them not the team they coached in Calif, or GA or Sunbright, one more win against our rivals and then the playoffs, I WILL BE THERE EVERY STEP OF THE WAY..

lets see Karns 5-2 has had two players be picked player of the week one for D and one for O that is a big thing for this program, yes maybe not that major win yet but for sure much improved and at least they compete in games now rather then looking like the bad news bears in recent years, No Kool aid drinking here but I for sure appreciate what coach Witt and company has done and also the young men that have stepped up and got it done on the field. The one nice thing is that Karns is finally getting some press and talked about and that is big for these young men, so good luck Beavers and I look forward to seeing you in the playoffs.

Could not have been said better, they have the right guy and the thing is they had him when they hired the other guys but, coach Witt wants to be at Karns never says he wants to leave great for school and the kids.

Not sure where this Karns team will finish but here is some info on where they have come from, a team that has not made the playoffs in years not had a winning record in over 30 years has had a new coach every three years, 6 and 24 under the last great coaching staff, the great things here is Karns 5 and 2 with one more win will have their first winning season in 30 years, probably make the playoffs and for sure starts getting some more kids out of those halls on the field, I guess having a coach that cares more for the kids then he does his record has proven to be the formula, DIDN'T need the Califorina Express or the Sunbright JA or the I played every position HC, just a coach that wants to see young men achieve some goals and is willing to do the work with them, CONGRATS to coach Witt and his staff and for sure the young men that have worked so hard to be better than others told them they could be, congrats to the admin on making the changes that needed to be made to have all the positives happen, and Karns you may not play anyone but at least you are beating the ones you do play good luck the rest of the year and we will see you Friday taking on those Wildcats.

The funny thing is Powell and all the other teams in the distric play the same teams so there for half will be winners and the other half will not, I don't see you guys throw the records of the teams that Powell has played or HVA always concerned that Karns has not played anyone, well there was a day that Karns lost to those same losing teams so there for give them a little credit to have at least gotten to a point that its not an automatic win for other teams. I wish all the teams the best but some will when and others will lose, and yes if Karns had an O they could be a much tougher team to play, if I remember right HVA let CC score when karns held them to 0.

Yes the QBs have their issues but you are looking at a senior tha has never played QB once and a soph that needs allot of development to get better but it also has to do with being limited with the O line and the Rec core just way to much inexperince in those areas to have a very productive O, all in all the Beavers have made some strides in making th eprogram at least respectful, I think that coach Witt will see more kids out of the halls next year and yes that will still be inexperince but at least he will have players to teach the game to, lets see where they wind up this year hopefully in the playoffs.

Yes that can be said about allot of the teams, I think Karns needs to just stay focused on winning the games they should and make the playoffs, Powell will go undefeated and the South Doyle loss for sure should not had happen considering that South Doyle has not beat any power houses either, the best thing is that Karns is finally winning the games they should compete in and not just be the old Karns that everyone chalks up as a win, the best thing of all is Karns finally has a Head Coach that keeps the kids excited about playing and not making them feel like the old coaching staff did like they were not very good, the players actually believe in each other and it is showing on the field

The Karns Football team does for sure have a big test Friday night , I agree Powell does have some depth and really good ball players, I think if Karns can keep it respectful and learn some things Friday it will be a good game for them , yes Powell will most likely outlast the Beavers but the great thing about the things happening at Karns is they finally are at least beating the teams they should and I think if the rain doesn't mess up opening night they beat South Doyle, regardless Karns has a very good chance to play out their season and finish where no others have in 30 something years and even maybe make the playoffs. The chances of that happening for this program can do nothing but help build some attitude of kids coming out from the halls to be a part of something positive. I think Powell will beat them but I also think that Powell will be tested by the Beavers defense, goodluck to both teams and just remember two weeks ago no one in the state gave A-E a chance and they pulled off the biggest upset of the year, so Karns faithful it can happen, so don't miss the game get out there to Powell and support those beavers.

You know not long ago Karns was losing to the same teams that they are beating now, yes they have won some ugly but every high school team in the nation as done that, yes the game with Powell will be a very diffcult one in allot of areas for Karns, I think the D will play lights out and if the O can put some things together this week in shadow of the Campbell County game they may stay in it and possibly even have a chance, remember folks NO one in the state pick A-E to beat Alcoa, the only people who thought it was a possiblty was those Road Runners, anyway wish the Beavers the best and they are in a position to change some major history for that program and school, its amazing the difference.

Coach Witt is doing a great JOB, it is great to see the boys having fun and ENJOYING playing the sport of football so many coaches take the fun out of things, Bigtuna where are you at, you had allot to say in support of the old staff the new staff seams to be running circles around the 3 musketeers, keep up the great work Coach and hopefully this will be the first winning season in 30 + years.

it is no secret that I was not a big fan of the last coaching group we had at Karns as I said many times those guys were the wrong guys because they were about them self NOT the kids, now you have a HC that cares more about what the kids do for them self then he does about what people think of him , Karns 3-1 and for the first time in years; I have heard 30 + but not sure what ever the time frame is the players have got a new attitude about what they can achieve and they have a coaching staff that cares about them, the best thing I seen last night was the handling of the hurry up O to score again right before the half the old way we looked like a team that had no direction last night the coaching staff and players played the management of the game to perfection it was great to watch, tells you allot about how this team is coming together. I don't know where we finish but regardless of the record this program is finally going in the right direction congrats to Coach Witt and his team they have worked hard to be better as a team, I wish them all the luck in the world and who knows they may have the FIRST winning season in 37 years what a thought.

The best thing Karns has going this week is the DC that the Dragons have, no in regards to Karns this year they have made huge improvements their Def is playing well the O is starting to come together, this should be a good game for both teams to improve their playing and have a chance to win for either team. I think Karns is making head way in getting things in the right direction they for SURE have a much better coaching staff now then what they did have.

Congrats to coach whit and the beavers, ya it was only a jamboree but they also won a 7 on 7 tournament up in Greenville a few weeks back, I think the O they are running as alot of players taking snaps but the the two guys throwing the ball seem to be proficent, lots of new coaches and I know Coach Whit wants to be at Karns it will be great to see the guys having fun this year and also having some success, I was at both the scrimmages and the team looked much better at the second one. these coaches are the type of guys that the Karns community should get behind, goodluck in week one

No not correct he played every position at least that's the story he gives the kids, if my son heard it once he heard a thousand times, better keep the rubber snakes away from him.

6 and 24 great great HC, Dragons if you like having a coach that blames the kids for all the mistakes they make then you have the right guy, you would have been much better off NOT having a DC, we had a mass exit from our school with kids that could not wait to get out of our program, funny thing is HVA won last year with mostly , not all but mostly ex karns players, Anderson County should benefit greatly from this hire.

Smyrna played a very good game, your right losing starting LB's does affect your D but, I think the point is Smyrna had a chance to at least deal with that issue, Maryville was playing the game and lost its starting QB, and not for sure if any position is more important then the QB position for any team, taking nothing away from Smyrna but, when a team takes a hit like that the opponent should have had the advantage, I think anyone would agree with that, I believe if these two teams played 10 times it would be a 5 and 5 deal.

Congrats for sure, one thing is for sure Maryville can play with the big boys. Shout out to my boy Romburg, he played well, Smyrna certainlly was a very good team and played hard but, they didn't stop Maryville before the half with the QB at that point suffered an injury and then could not take advantage of the 87 total yards Maryville had in the second half, see the call may well give all the Smyrna's fans that we got ripped and cheated card to play but, the matter of the facts are they could not did not and was unable to beat Maryville with BACKUP QB's. The TV announcer certainlly was trying to soften the blow by pumping up the Smyrna schedule, lets see Maryville played and beat West Semi finalist in 5A, Oak Ridge who beat the mighty Riverdale team (Maryville beat OR twice) Bearden with the best back in the state (twice) Farrgt (Twice) Knoxville Catholic, point being Mr. Announcer I think Maryville played a tough scedule as well, certainlly considering they beat the team that beat the so called best your area had to offer twice...Way to go Maryville and ALL EAST TENNESSEE TEAMS THAT BROUGHT HOME THE GOLD....
