  1. I would like to see that game...Big respect for Alcoa's program...I take it as an honor for us being called the Alcoa of 1A Stick around, we would love to have you join us. The Alcoa fans are classy folks so come and introduce yourself to whoever is around you. Thank you for the compliment. We have also heard some very good comments about the SP program. Best of luck to you!!
  2. SP - good luck Friday, we will come down early from Alcoa to cheer you on to a victory. Hope you manage to stay for the Alcoa/Milan game.
  3. Understood and thank you. You are right, we did hear all week how loud and supportive the E-town fans were. I guess the people behind me have an argument against me because I couldn't seem to keep my seat and was jumping up and down yelling my head off. It's all good. GO TORNADOES!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Okay. Am I to assume this happened during the Maryville game? If so, I might not have seen it. I struggled all evening to try and keep my durn seat and not having other fans squish me from a 4" seat to a 2" seat.
  5. If Alcoa actually did that, with intent, I would agree that it would be disrespectful. Haven't missed an Alcoa ballgame in several years, and I have never seen that action. Not disputing your word, I just wonder when that was; would like to know. Usually, several of the coachs are around the 50, they would have stopped this if they had seen this action. If you know anything about Rankin, you know he demands sportsmanship. Also, Warren and Tyson lead the chant this year. Neither would be involved in this type activity.
  6. Good post Coach, I agree with everything you said. Congratulations to Elizabethton on an excellent season.
  7. Maybe you should forward this information to The Daily Times so they can "mull over" whether or not to put it in the newspapers. Probably not but it is worth a try!! JaRon deserves this recognition.
  8. I also would like to respond to this post. I agree that the Sudderth sisters bring tons of support and enthusiasm to the Alcoa games. When somebody yelled "we can't see", the sign was immediately put down. The sign is great and supports the teams theme this year. My only objection personally was when it was held up during a play so the fans behind couln't see the game. Keep the sign, it is great, hold it, wave it and swish it around between plays. The jugs, bells, and even the horn are great and show tremendous team support. When I made my post (with a tremendous headache) it was because of the continuous horn blowing. My apologies to all of you because I know that this group has Alcoa football running through their blood and I would not want to see that change. As for the paper, it is not my preference so I make sure to sit somewhere else. Again, it was not my intention to offend anyone. Hope you see you all in Cookeville.
  9. why don't they have a "throw up" icon on here? wow! dude be dogging his own homey. I LOVE IT. Forgive him for he knows not what he is doing.............must be reading too many of your posts DAWG
  10. I give Loudon tons of credit. They were the best defensive team we have played all year. CAK was second. Both Loudon and CAK if playing in a different quad would give anybody a run for their money!
  11. You are so right Tornadogold. JaRon is an excellent representative of the Alcoa football program. With his talent and academic success he will be able to accomplish anything he desires. A real class act!
  12. I figured they were. Trust me, if my house was close enough to Alcoa High School, I would shoot off some "works" myself! I think it is great to see the E-town fans supporting their team in that way.
  13. LOL. No matter where I sit near on the 50 you can bet this group will come and sit in front of me EVERYTIME!!! This week, I even moved across the aisle and I'll be danged if they didn't move too!!
  14. Congratulations to both Maryville and Riverdale for an excellent season. Excellent programs for both schools and reading the posts all this week just proves that there are some real classy fans out there. Maryville, now that you have your "big boy britches" on; bring home the title next week!! Your Alcoa fans will be there to cheer you on.
  15. When did the state capital move from Nashville to Murfreesboro, which is the center of the state. If your going to complain that much, get your midol, grab your maxi pad and get over it. I have to travel an extra 50 miles but it will be worth it because it will be a better atmosphere. Murfreesboro actually was the State Capital for about eight years during the early 1800's. Also MTSU's stadium is exactly one mile from the monument where the exact geographic center of the state is. It really is not relevant as MOST will not be at the game where ever it is, but will be watching it on TV. Whether one places the TV in the exact center of the house or the east or west side of it is solely dependant on the viewer. EXCELLENT post LostOldDad. I would follow my Tornadoes anywhere without complaint. Put this game in West Tennessee; it still won't add anything to the outcome of the game. GO REBELS!! GO TORNADOES!!
  16. Forgot to mention that holding up the sign WHILE A PLAY WAS IN PROGRESS left many of us unable to see our Tornadoes AND the "paper parade" gets tiresome.
  17. Thank you tornadogold. Alcoa's band is growing and improving year over year. They will appreciate your recognition. YES, the small group (about 2/5 of the entire band) made some noise last night! Especially considering they got pounded by the football when we had to kick all those extra points!!
  18. Good question. Alcoa is much improved as the season has progressed but I have to say that the Rebels have significantly improved throughout this season. It would be a very close game. I would rather just enjoy the success of both teams and enjoy what both teams have brought to Blount County football fans. Both teams are champions!!
  19. Congratulations JaRon on an excellent season and I know you are not finished yet!! Congratulations also to Alcoa's offensive line and blockers for assisting JaRon achieve this state record. GO TORNADOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Congratulations Elizabethton on an excellent season. Great venue, nice people, the band was very good; we enjoyed our trip to your great city.
  21. Him and his family are in our prayers today (from Alcoa)
  22. I woudn't pay much attention to anything Mark Packer says or does; he don't know straight up from straight down. We will be cheering for the rebels from afar (will be in Elizabethton cheering for the Tornadoes) and listening to Maryville/Riverdale on the radio. My friends all think I am crazy, lol. GO REBELS!!!
  23. To the Elizabethton fans, we respect your program and congratulate you on an excellent season. Most of the posts on here are simply meant to stir up some excitement for our respective teams. The photos, I don't believe, are meant to be disrespectful at all. As fans, we make predictions and brag on our teams abilities. That is why we are called fans. We wish your teams to play well and to leave the game injury free. As an Alcoa fan, I am going to be on their sideline cheering for them to come home with the victory. This is not meant to be "anti-Elizabethton"; simply pro Alcoa. We feel we have a great opportunity to win this game just like you do with your team. Nothing wrong with that, it is as it should be. See you in a few hours and I hope all the kids have fun, represent their school with sportsmanship, pride and give their all on the field. p.s. Hope they have plenty of coffee and hot chocolate as this one will be a cold one!
