  1. I would hope that T$$AA would split District 7AAA between both Quads 2 & 3. Travel shouldn't be an issue within these two Quads, so this would make the best sense to allow teams to play other teams outside of their own district.
  2. That's good info, but what's the visitor seating like? If I recall correctly from the past, the visitor stands barely hold the band and a handful of fans. Has there been any changes to the visitor stands? If not, is there any additional seating or do the visitors just sit in the home stands?
  3. Let's Go Warriors.....Time to get your Gameface on!
  4. Good Luck Vikings!!! Would love to see my alma mater make something happen this year! Guess they still haven't retired my #16 yet, lol! I'll have to talk with my old teammate Coach Cox about that!
  5. I hear ya scots50 and what a party that is! On the upside though, it's a great weight loss program as long as you don't pass out! HOOAH! Frags out!
  6. I completely agree with you on this. Things have changed since back in the day and it's not only Xbox as being the problem. I think a lot of the so called lack of heart to play has been brought on by these peewee leagues where everyone gets the same kind of trophy and we don't post the standings at the concession stand because little Johnny's feelings might get hurt since his team is in last place. We as kids used to huddle around the standings board at the concession stand and challenge each other! I remember when the first place team got a big trophy, second place got one a little smaller and third was even smaller, but still bigger than all of the remaining teams that got participation trophies. As a kid that alone made me want to give everything I had to try and win that big trophy. Nowadays, instead of making little Johnny deal with it and maybe building a little character by doing so and perhaps even firing him and his teammates up to maybe try harder, little Johnny is told that it doesn't matter as long as he has fun. Well I've always been one for fun, but to me winning is a lot more fun than losing or just participating. That type of mentality is a direct reason for the lack of heart that some of these kids portray today, it's the way they have been brought up in todays society. They'll have a rude awakening when they hit the corporate world and realize that you better have that killer instinct to get ahead, because in this game not everyone gets the same trophy just for participating!
  7. This is absolutely beautiful and so right on point! Glad to see I'm not the only one that thinks this way......almost brought a tear to my eye! I haven't had to worry much about my son cause I know he got off the Xbox and was outside training and getting acclimated to the heat to be ready for this kind of weather. He still had plenty of time for Xbox after his training and outdoor chores, not to mention this was a great time for him to work on hydration for the next day. Great stuff here Jake, you hit the nail on the head!
  8. What time does the scrimmage tonight start 6:00 or 7:00? I've heard both.
  9. Nope, heard from a couple of players that they dropped MBA because they were trying to recruit some of our players after the last couple of scrimmages with them.
  10. I just asked my son, who plays on the team, and he said that there were 4 maybe 5 players that have quit, but none of them were "starters". All of the "starters" have stayed and he hasn't heard anyone else talking about quitting!
  11. I haven't heard any cancellations as of yet, scheduled for 4:30 at Franklin.
  12. Let me guess, the scrimmage will be here at 6:00 PM. I believe that is what my son told me he thought the time was.
  13. The scrimmage vs Gallatin has been changed to Friday May 7th, apparently due to Gallatin starting spring practice on Monday May 3rd.
  14. The scrimmage is on monday the 3rd vs Gallatin, I believe, not sure of the location, but usually the spring scrimmage against them is at RHS.
  15. SECMAN, I heard the same thing. I do know that he has some ties of some sort, possibly family, close to that part of the country as well, so that could play into it too.
  16. The Lift-A-Thon is scheduled for April 19th 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm in the gym. Spring practice starts April 20th. Scrimmages are May 3rd vs Gallatin at 4:30 and May 10th vs Franklin at 4:30. The 2nd Annual Riverdale Golf Tournament is June 16th.
  17. Heard that the Lift-A-Thon will be on April 19th and spring practice to start on the 20th, but don't know if those dates are official yet.
  18. I heard that the big donator had an illness in the family and is having to use the money for medical bills, but I also heard rumor that something else has been done and turf will be installed.
  19. I believe he ran a 4.85 yesterday at the combine in the Boro, but that was with the Nike Sparq laser system which the folks running it said that their times would be .2-.3 slower than than their normal times which appeared to be correct with most everyone running. The fastest time I heard was from a kid from Ensworth with a 4.6.
  20. Anyone got any info on spring scrimmages, like dates? I'm pretty sure MBA and Gallatin will be on the schedule as they usually are, but could use some dates to ensure I can get off work to see them.
  21. You're correct, Waltez Gaines will be back along with Marcellous Odom and Adam Davenport returning with him in the backfield.
  22. I've heard that Woodruff may be in competition for the QB position. As for linemen, I believe we'll be seeing Bryson McCluskey (#61) returning at a guard position, Zack Taylor (#63) returning at a tackle position or possibly center, Ryan Miller (#64) at a tackle position and Scotty McCullough (#75) at either a tackle position or possibly center. I think Taylor and McCullough will both be working at the center position with one winning out and the other will go to the other tackle position opposite Miller. Who will play the other guard position, I don't know, but with those four averaging about 6'3" and 290lbs, there will definately be some hosses up front!
  23. I get the same thing. Any Admin help would be greatly appreciated!
  24. Really Grey? What thread was that in, cause from most everything I've read in this thread, it sounds like there was nothing but mutual respect from both sides and a general excitement about the matchup. Actually, I believe the Riverdale fans probably gave Maryville more respect than anyone else has.
