  1. I know, but it sure looks good don't it! Then again the T$$AA could get rid of the Yahoos that came up with the current system and use that additional income to pay for the gas...that money is obviously being wasted now as it is!
  2. I can't get the 32 team bracket I did on here, but the bracket would have these matchups top to bottom if you were to fill out a 32 team bracket: #1 Maryville (H) vs #32 Dickson County #16 Clinton (H) vs #17 White Station #8 Blackman (H) vs #25 Jackson North Side #9 Columbia (H) vs #24 Lawrence County #5 Sevier County (H) vs #28 Morristown West #12 Hardin County (H) vs #21 Germantown #13 Mt. Juliet (H) vs #20 Whitehaven #4 Henry County (H) vs #29 Clarksville NW #3 Oakland (H) vs #30 Craigmont #14 Ooltewah (H) vs #19 Beech #6 Riverdale (H) vs #27 Hendersonville #11 Farragut (H) vs #22 Sullivan South #7 Arlington (H) vs #26 Bearden #10 Brentwood (H) vs #23 Daniel Boone #15 Franklin (H) vs #18 McMinn County #2 Tennessee (H) vs #31 Hunters Lane Sure, there'll be some travel involved and I know the T$$AA wouldn't go for this, but wouldn't this be a much more exciting tournament, especially to be able to see teams play others from different parts of the state to get a TRUE State Champion?
  3. One of the big things that I have heard is the strength of schedule and/or the lack thereof in this new system meaning nothing, which in turn can reward a team based on their record, thus promoting teams to schedule weak teams just to get good records. Ok, so you won your district, but does that mean your good enough for a chance at a State Championship? Why not force teams to schedule tougher teams by using something like the Strength + Success Rankings to determine who gets into the playoffs? By using Coach T's S+S Rankings, here is what we would have in the 6A playoffs, then it's as simple as matching up #1 vs #32, #2 vs #31, etc. It's a state playoff, so to have the best possible teams playing each other for the Championship, travel doesn't need to factor in...it obviously isn't too big of an issue in the regular season with some of the games that I have seen scheduled ie. Farragut vs Riverdale. Now this is a Playoff Field! Division I Class AAA 1. Maryville 1.490 2. Tennessee 1.444 3. Oakland 1.433 4. Henry Co. 1.410 5. Sevier Co. 1.390 6. Riverdale 1.380 7. 5. That's kinda funny seeing as I was sitting in the 17th row at the 50 yard line, right on the aisle. I specifically counted the rows and as you might know, there is an aisle on the 50 yard line and I sat on the first aisle seat on the baseball field (south side) of the aisle where I sit at every home game. So, unless you were sitting on the north side of the aisle and you might have, I'll have to call BS on that! I believe you stated in an earlier post that you would be on the baseball field side. There was someone sitting by themself on the north side of the aisle in that row, so if that was you, I for one can vouch for you being there, in that seat, if you can tell me what color rainsuit you were wearing!
  6. Cool idea, sounds fun! I'll give it a try, so count me in!
  7. From what I have heard, McCluskey is good to go! He was just held out of last weeks game as a precautionary thing. He's healthy and will be in the starting lineup friday night if what I have heard is correct.

  9. warhawks, he wasn't around during the Rankin years, he was only there the past three and supposedly was just there as a mentor to some of the kids. Apparently he didn't like the fact that they no longer wanted his services so he continues to pout about it. He's setting a very good example for the kids on how to handle adversity isn't he? Oakland will soon be under the microscope because of this character!
  10. I had posted this in another thread, but this one seems to be the more appropriate place for it. You know it's funny how he just recently/now needed to report these so called wrong doings since the coaching staff no longer wanted his services. Maybe, just maybe, the Riverdale coaching staff saw where Byron was actually recruiting and they didn't want any part of it so they told him to go elsewhere. Kinda makes you go hmmmm don't it? Did he not realize that making these allegations, especially given the recent issues he had with Riverdale, not only makes him look bad, but also brings Oakland into the mix and under possible scrutiny since he is now associated with them? Not a very bright move, not to mention he quite possibly might have shot himself in the foot by now not having any team wanting him associated with them if for the mere fact that if they no longer want his services that he will try to go after the team and try to make them look bad instead of taking it like a man and moving on. That's someone that I really want to mentor my child ... thanks but no thanks! I guess Riverdale can thank him for the past three seasons since he did so much fine recruiting. He might want to forget about the mentoring/recruiting gig and look at another career path ... I hear wonder bread is hiring, they're always looking for an 8 hour loaf!

  13. Hey 2p, where is this letter to the editor? I'd like to read it.
  14. It's sad that the person making these allegations was the same one just a while back denying anything of the sort. Kinda makes me wonder about his credibility as a mentor now. Also, since he is saying that he did it, shouldn't he be banned from being involved with any type of football program in the state?
  15. I hope the same Warrior team that showed up against Lavergne shows up again this friday night. I'd like to see the Warriors take charge of this game early, rest the starters and give the 2's and 3's some valuable in game experience, more than just a couple of plays. These are the guys that will be depended on to give some of the starters a quick breather for a play or two in some games down the road, or will have to step in in the case of an injury (God forbid) and it will at least help build experience for next year, which in any case only benefits the team as a whole. Get your popcorn ready, Warriors big in this one 56-7!

  17. I am actually glad y'all are finally having a good year, but I just want to keep y'all grounded. Especially with all the 'rumors' circulating around the county about recruiting being done at Blackman. I do NOT know if they are true or not and frankly do not care, but they are out there just like they were year after year about R'dale. LC is NOT a school to disrespect because I can guarentee y'all EVERY statement is going on the walls of LC's locker room. R'dale went in there one year with the premier RB in the county. We lost the game and the RB for the season when his leg got broke by accident. I have the utmost respect for Coach Thompson and the LC program because they are the same every year.......TOUGH! LOD you know as well as anyone esp. being a R'dale fan that when you win games and have great athletes and great seasons back to back people from other schools who are green with envy will say your recruiting, NOT that the kids and/or their parents MOVE on their OWN to play for a good coach/team but that the coach is breaking rules... people have said it for years about R'dale esp. when Rankin was there. My question to you is if R'dale thinks so highly of Rankin and thinks that he is a legend, then why did you all not think enough of him to put him into your Hall of Fame??? Pretty crappy if you ask me.... As for Rankin being put into the Hall of Fame, from what I gathered from the organizers, Rankin would have been in, but when they contacted him he wasn't going to be able to be there in person to accept it and requested to let someone else go in and maybe he could make it next year. Pretty classy move if you ask me. So, it's not that he wasn't voted in, as much as it was that he wanted to be there in person so as to not disrespect the Hall.

  20. I haven't heard anything on Hendersonville other than they lost to Antioch in a scrimmage, but we all know that really doesn't mean much. My early prediction: Riverdale 28 Hendersonville 7
  21. Being that most of the folks here are regulars, I say your chances would be in your favor I'd be in that classification as well, so Weave, it looks like it's between you and I.
  22. Riverdale does have the size and strength, but from what I've seen from them so far this season, they have pretty good speed too! Antioch lost their quarterback and I believe their big receiver/DE from last years squad to graduation. Not sure what they have this year as I've heard absolutely nothing on them, but I'll be giving the nod to Riverdale 35-7!
