  1. Thanks for the information about sending money. I know times are tough for everyone, but a little from everyone reading this can add up to a lot. I'm sure if this had happened to us when we were children, we'd appreciate compassion and financial assistance. So, let's dig deep and help!!!
  2. Don't let blitzinbuc fool you (he's not even a Polk fan). Everyone in Benton knows this will be the toughest opponent Polk has played. There will be no blowout. I'm certainly glad you feel the need to speak on my behalf, but I can do quite well - thank you. More than likely I'll be at the Polk/Loudon game sitting with some Polk Co. friends, and cheering for the Wildcats. Just because I sat with McMinn Central folks when the Chargers played Polk Co., doesn't constitute me not being a fan of other schools - including Meigs Co., McMinn Co., and Polk Co......just to name a few. I have many friends who are parents of players, and friends who are coaches at several surrounding schools. I'm a big fan of local high school football teams, and appreciate when they all have strong, competitive teams. Sure, I believe Polk Co. will beat Loudon by a minimum of 17 points. Who knows, I may even see you there after the game as you gloat the big victory......saying you knew all along that Polk would win easily.
  3. Dang smokinote, wishing to see someone line up against Alcoa sure isn't a very nice wish for someone. I think Polk will beat Loudon by 17 or more, but the Wildcats will lose by at least 17 against Alcoa. Smart guy that blitzinbuc. Jarred Allen is the difference maker in this game. Throws and runs better than the Loudon QB. He is one of those kind of players that makes everybody around him better. Then the Polk County Wildcats get their shot at surviving the F5.................................................... Not only am I smart, I'm also tall, slim, and handsome.

  5. Does Riverdale's Coach (D.W.) post on here? If so, please contact me.
  6. Won't WJSQ/WLAR (101.7) be carrying it? Johnny Coffman, The Voice Of The Cherokess does it beter than anyone in the state.
  7. To my CAK brothers: I just read back through the thread after I posted and read the sad news about one of your students losing his Father. I am truly saddened to hear this for this young man and his family. As I was discussing with some of you gentleman Friday night, Romans 8:28 has been used by me many times in my life.......and I hope this young man can find comfort in God's Word. Since God knows who it is, I'll just pray accordingly, and I'll put him on our Church's e-mail prayer list.
  8. Rule #1: there should NEVER be a discussion about eating plans without including blitzinbuc. FootballDad, you're a class act and it was my honor to meet you and break bread with you Friday night prior to the CAK/Central game. And it was very hospitable of you to buy my meal......though I keep getting these thoughts that you were just preparing me for the inevitable loss the Chargers would endure. Seriously, It was a privilege to meet you and GVK.....and the other fine gentlemen I met. CAK has really grown since I was there many years ago, and to that I give credit to people doing what the Lord wanted them to do. All of those I met at CAK were kind and humble, both before and after the game. The Central coaches I rode home with were really bragging on your football program......not just in how good the team was, but also about what a first-rate program you have. I pray our paths will cross again someday on this side of eternity. If so, I get to do the eating-treating next time (especially if having a servant's heart will guarantee a victory for my team). As a Christian, I don't believe in luck........so, I'll wish your team much success against mighty Alcoa. ps: I was in Meigs County Saturday evening for a birthday party - amongst some of the Tiger coaches. They said they had heard a rumor about me actually wearing Central attire the night before. You'll be proud of me for not lying......I just told them there are always things like that going around and unless someone had proof that I did wear it, then it probably was just a rumor.
  9. you claim your youngest son? You are one good man! Am I required to claim him? By the way, he told me last night that he would be there tonight, too. I'm not going to ride with him though.....don't want to be seen with him. May let him buy me a couple of dawgs, though.
  10. As far as radio announcers for high school games, I think Johnny Coffman, "Voice of the Cherokees", in Athens is the absolute best in the business!!! Very knowledgeable of the game, very fair to both teams, uses proper English, and has a great voice. Any OR fans listening to the game should occasionally tune in to 101.7 FM to hear Johnny's coverage. I've advocated for years that Johnny should take Bob Kessling's place should Bob ever leave.
  11. As a McMinn County Cherokee fan........Meigs County Tiger fan........and a McMinn Central Charger fan, I'm wishing much success to the Polk County Wildcats tonight.
  12. Sorry for the delayed response. I told Jamin's mom I'd look her up and say howdy. I'll be happy to meet you as well and get you some chili dawgs or a fresh grilled hamburger and some nanner puddin. If my cousin is working tonight I'll get her to put everything on GoVolsKnox account. He is such a frequent customer he has an unlimited credit limit and a speed pass. Have a safe trip. Both of Jamin's parents are wonderful people that I have the honor of calling my friends. Looking forward to meting you, too, as you seem to appreciate that camraderie amongst the brethren is more important than anything. Naturally, since I know some of the Central player's and their parents, and even know some of the coaches (some fine Christian men, I might add), I'm hoping the Chargers prevail. I think the Charger coaches have impressed quite well on the team all week that they will be facing a VERY formidable opponent in CAK. Just looking how good of a game CAK gave Alcoa tells you how good they are. The only school attire I have is McMinn County black and gold (from two decades ago when my Sons played there); Fairview Christian Academy blue and silver (from when my Daughter played there); and Meigs County orange and black (from when my Grandson played there)..........so one of the McMinn Central coaches is going to dress me for the game in Central's colors. So I'll be the purty one, who obviously likes to eat.
  13. I can't give you an official response, but many times I get there by 2 hours before game time and they are open. If I beat the ticket takers, I just swing by and pay on my way to get a burger from the concession stand. You should have no trouble from 5:00 on would be my take on it. Just bear in mind that TSSAA has some very stupid policies about what time the gates open, etc. Might mention that there probably won't be any passes out, either. Don't know what the smokers will do since their not allowed to smoke inside the complex.
  14. FootballDad, was it you who offered to buy this poor ol' guy a couple of chili dawgs, nanner puddin', etc? Anyway, I'm planning on being up there aby 5:30 or 5:45. Would love to meet you - as well as some other brothers and sisters in Christ. How can I find you?
  15. Thanks for the picture Govolsknox. We are having way too much fun on this thread. It's like we really don't want to beat anyone. NOT!!! Maybe I should sing something after we win. Our son went to Fairview Christian Academy in Athens until his sophmore year. I still have one child in that school. (The 4th grade) I'd be glad to come up and speak in Chapel some time. I don't play the quitar much Blitz. (12 string) I was in a car accident this summer and I can't raise my right arm above shoulder height. My guitar is too big for me to manage until I get this arm fixed. We all should have fun and enjoy each other here on earth, since we'll have to spend eternity together! Sorry, didn't know about the auto accident! Are you still working?
  16. I hope so, but it'll be hard to match the crowd at the McMinn Central game in week 2. Central and Polk have had good crowds for the last few years. Just like Polk and Meigs did a few years ago when the Tigers and Wildcats were vying for the Championship, or for a 2nd place spot to play home in the playoffs.
  17. Bobby M? When I made a tape and you gave a donation to Small World? Wow! How come I don't see you at the games? Ahhhhhh.....so you did think of me when I said to think of a handsome hunk? Yes, and I still have that cassette! You made that for me when Jamin was about 2! I've actually been to two Central games this year. I'm primarily a fan of Meigs (Grandson played there a couple of years ago when they had those good teams), plus I like McMinn Central and McMinn Co. (I know several coaches on each team). I even went to watch Polk Co. play once this year. So, I guess you could say I'm a fan of many local teams. We're also friends with Zack Rayl's Mother, Father & Stepmother. Rumor has it that I'll be coaching McMinn Central this Friday night. Just ask OldSchoolCharger (Bobby L.). Hope to see you and Roberto there!
  18. We couldn't come to terms with Saban & Meyer's agent on the hourly fee, but I heard Peyton Manning and Tony Dungee were seen going into our new fieldhouse before a team meeting with a dry erase board and a handful of dvd's. No problem, as long as they didn't eat all the good food......especially the nanner puddin'.
  19. You neglected to mention that you can also play guitar and sing beautifully. God has blessed you and you use it for His honor and glory. And I have an audio-cassette of you singing to prove it! Alright Blitz you must introduce yourself now. I have no idea who you are. LOL It's wierd to think someone has a tape of me. LOL That would have had to happen loooong time ago. Gee, I've given you a plethora of hints already. Think of the best looking guy you remember from Fairview Baptist about '92-'95. The first name that comes to mind should be Bobby......and I don't mean your hubby!
  20. CAK's offensive line is small by comparison to many teams we face. They average around 235lbs with the exception of one that is just under 200lbs. But in a pass dominant offense like CAK's, a premium is put on technique rather than brawn. Mark Bradley and Jarvis Reado are as good a combination of offensive line coaches you will find anywhere in this area for high school football. I'm amazed at how they have taken undersized players and molded them into a very fine offensive line. McMinn Central may have some very good defensive linemen, but I assure you the CAK offensive line can block, and block well. Run blocking is not their fortay, but we don't do much of that anyway. When we do, it's usually effective. I agree with you that being coached by Mark Bradley and Jarvis Reado, you'll have a disciplined, well-coached offensive line. Next thing we'll hear from you is that Nick Saban and Urban Meyer reviews your film and offers coaching tips!
  21. OR fans......it would be nice of you to bring some Big Ed's Pizza down and share with the guys in the pressbox. I know a couple of guys in there who can eat with the best of them!
  22. So, you're thinking Ooltewah might not have a let-down after such a devastating loss......losing not only thier first game, but also the District 5 Championship in the process, as well as the state's #1 ranking?
  23. I agree with you......this is definitely a game between two great teams.
  24. You neglected to mention that you can also play guitar and sing beautifully. God has blessed you and you use it for His honor and glory. And I have an audio-cassette of you singing to prove it!
