  1. Maybe a little of what you’re saying. All kids that play the game want to win, ultimately winning is the biggest factor. Time will tell, I do think the jackets find the win column a few times this year
  2. That will have them hovering around 40ish players, good turn out. Players will come and go unfortunately
  3. Correct, they joined team after school year officially ended.
  4. Was told by coach they had 3 total players out. I do know at least 1 starting OL was out. Had 3 upcoming sophomores on OL and they had decent size. Time will tell but I thought they looked stronger and more physical than last year. Still looking to get things going on offense.
  5. Each team had 30 plays total, Westmoreland scored 1 time and TC did not score. I was really pleased with the physicality of the Yellow Jackets. However offensively still has a long way to go.
  6. Hmm sounds like he’s the offensive coordinator according to Coach Creasy. And as someone that covered multiple Oakland games this season, he is the only other coach in offensive huddles other than Creasy. The fact is people are going to have to look past the bull and realize Eric Vetetoe can help this program greatly.
  7. As bad as I hate to say this, Clint is also the reason Kevin Creasy is not the HC of the Trousdale County Yellow Jackets. Clint’s track record as DOS hiring Football coaches is not great.
  8. So Vetetoe, as a single father of 3, is supposed to leave a job making considerably more money to come to Hartsville and be MS Football, MS Baseball, and assistant for HS football just to come remotely close to what he makes now. If they want him to come in the only way to make it truly beneficial is for him to focus on the HS team. I think a lot of people on both sides want him here. And I do believe he wants to be here, but he’s got to be a dad first and coming here to do all of that work will not only be tiring for him, what kind of dad can he be to his two younger kids? People have to be realistic. It’s very unlikely he’s here this year unless something changes.
  9. Vetetoe was HC at JSMS for 2 years when he first started. 2010-12? Been freshman HC at Oakland for 4-5 years. I think he went like 44-1 in that time with his offenses averaging 40+ppg in one of the most talented counties in TN. I think if you have ever been around him coaching, you would understand why so many want him back at TC. I think several in the school system would vouch for him as well. Has 100+ wins as baseball HC at TC and Lebanon. Took a very young sophomore heavy team to substate first year as baseball coach at TC. We have all followed him for years, if you know his story it is quite impressive. But still don’t know how it’s possible some think he leaves Oakland OC job for TC job. The fact that he would even consider it should tell people how much he truly still cares about TC. As someone else said earlier, KG is having to try to right a lot of wrongs by those of the past and it’s not easy. I understand last year was rough but time is not on the currents staff side. With one time transfer coming and the jackets losing, the “talent” that’s coming will find its way on others sidelines and it’s already started to happen.
  10. You are 100% correct on the motto of TC Football. Just my opinion, the biggest struggle is talent. However, the program and especially last year and this coming up year are suffering from past failures not current ones. Whatever happens this Spring and this Fall are massive to the development of the program. All coaches have their work cut out for them. Time will tell if we can get this thing out of the mud.
  11. A lot of confidence, I like it! For what it’s worth I’d be more than ok with the move.
  12. Would love to know of your sources as I also have the utmost reliable sources and no such move has been solidified. While there has been plenty of movement on the staff this offseason. Coach Vetetoe is currently the offensive coordinator at Oakland. It would take the right situation for him to leave that role. Is it possible he returns to the Creekbank? Sure it is.
  13. 41 on roster, 20 Freshmen, 9 Sophomore, 5 Juniors, 7 Seniors. 75% of team is underclassmen that will have a ton of growing pains this season, future has potential to be great just hope they learn this season and don’t get discouraged and quit. The growth of the underclassmen the next 2 years will be pivotal in the resurgence of the program
  14. Most knew this would be a short list. I believe the basic outlier was it needed to be a Trousdale County guy. Kyle Gregory is a Trousdale County guy. He grew up here, played here, won state titles here, Coach Gregory incapsulates everything it means to wear the purple and gold. He understands the expectations and the way things have been done around here for a very long time. There will be growing pains as with any coach dealt with this hand. I hope Coach Gregory can right the ship at the Creekbank!
  15. Wouldn't the easiest move be to move McCall up to HS Principal and have Gulley take over as MS Principal?
  16. Sounds to me like you know who I prefer lol although I do prefer that candidate because of our friendship, I would be perfectly fine with a couple other of the names that have been mentioned.
  17. I would be very fond of any coach that has graduated from Trousdale County. I would also consider coaches that have a resume that includes working for some of the GOATS of coaching high school football in TN (Rankin, Creasy, Satterfield,etc.). I think everyone in this thread knows the names that would fit this criteria. I hope whomever gets this honor takes this as a privilege and treats the TC program like it should be treated. This is the biggest hire in program history in my opinion. But ultimately my opinion means nothing.
  18. Shoulders dad graduated for TC, and Kyle began his coaching career early on at TC although he wasn't there long. Shoulders would be a homerun, but don't see him leaving Macon anytime soon.
  19. I agree with internal candidates, think you have to add Vetetoe as a candidate to outside names. Keeton would be a massive hire, but don't know if he leaves his BOE job to come back. Time will tell, definitely think they could also have an internal interim coach for this season and revisit next spring.
  20. I would be highly surprised if the next coach does not have a Trousdale County diploma.
  21. I've been fortunate enough to make several stops along the way and all have been very cool and unique experiences. The food was pretty dang tasty too. A few of my favorites have been Bell-Buckle Cafe (Cascade), Mustang Cafe (Loretto), and I can't leave out the Decatur Family Diner (Meigs County). All three are old fashioned comfort food and incorporate the history of their towns. Love all 3 of them and would recommend.
  22. Wish I could snap my fingers and it be fixed, but unfortunately that’s not possible. It’s not just the W and L that bothers me, the program has lost all of the traditions it was built on. But that’s enough on this thread, DCA should make a hire pretty quickly to keep from falling behind and hopefully keeping everyone happy.
  23. Tick tock, big decision coming for the wildcats heading into a season where they could win it all or it could all come tumbling down.
