The national coach search did interview a coach but turned him down and he didn’t even get a 2nd interview. He has gone on to win 2 state titles and came in 2nd one year. Would he have done that at DB? No one knows but everyone outside of S. Carter thinks DB made a mistake.

Rye Cove is 8-1. Last year 0-8 and last 2 were forfeits so that is an amazing turnaround.

Anderson County can’t move to 3a. They are classified as 4a you can’t move down.

Give DB coaches a break they are cold. They are wearing shorts and a t shirt. So they are having trouble making adjustments because they are wanting to look cool.

Region 2 looks good next Friday.

Plus SH has bad clock management wait until 7 seconds to call timeout instead of calling it with 40 seconds left. Also DB first kickoff Carter makes them kickoff again so instead of getting ball at 40 they get it at 21 it didn’t matter but still an awful decision.

No excuse to blow that call. DB had the ball if you can’t see who has ball then you shouldn’t be the an official in one of the biggest games of the year. An easy call blown

I wish high school would stop having the top 10 rankings. They are useless about 8 or 10 people vote and all they see are teams in their region. Who cares what Daniel Boone is ranked? The 3rd round is as far as they can go. Same with all other teams it does not matter ask Dobyns Bennett all them years ranked #1 and would lose 1st or 2nd round. Bottom Line all that matters is how you do in the playoffs.

Good post. If high school football was like college football how many coaches would be let go? A lot because they are weak. WR coach came from South I believe a few years ago South came to Elizabethton next to last game of the year and it meant nothing Elizabethton was 1st seed and South 3rd no matter the outcome. South put a big athletic guy at TE and Elizabethton couldn’t stop him Elizabethton won on a blocked XTP. So come round 2 of playoffs South came to Elizabethton and got ran off the field the big TE was accounted for. That showed the head coach didn’t know what was going on because why show your hand in a meaningless game

Elizabethton has wins against Rhea County and Sullivan East and Grainger. DB did beat Jefferson County and lost to Greeneville the rest of their schedule has been weak. Daniel Boone looks like the 3rd round is their limit with Knox West looming. So idk if any of the teams mentioned are that much better due to just playing bad teams now. So if it is state championship or bust then it will be a bust. I think Greeneville is the only team in Region 1 that has a chance to win the state.

Elizabethton 49 to 8

We may not win another game? Elizabethton has Sullivan East and Volunteer and Seymour still left to play. I think they will win those. This topic shows how people spin records. Saying they are the best 1-4 team in the country is like saying someone is the best looking woman in the country with 2 teeth. I don’t believe in moral victories. Like I said in an above post this game didn’t mean much because most likely 2nd round of playoffs is when the game matters.

Idk if Elizabethton can make a 37 yard fg. Only have tried one all year I think from 32 yards and it was missed.

I say Anderson 35 to 14. This game does not matter because if they both have anything they will meet in the 2nd round of playoffs when it does matter.

What is the ex coaches name?

Don’t jump the gun. They played Grainger so who knows if they have found an offense.

How can you say even coaching? That is funny. Game at Boone 2 years ago says it all. Your coach was afraid to win and played for a FG that never had a chance. Boone has made it to the 3rd round of playoffs I think 2 times. Need to worry about Knoxville in November

They just play 9 regular season games. So I guess you have them beating 2 of these 3 Boone or Anderson or Rhea County. I know Rhea looks bad but it is a road game and a long trip
