  1. Listened to the game last week, couldn't make it to Jamestown. At one point he described a punt as looking like one of his pitching wedges. I thought he meant he shanked it about 20 yards out of bounds, barely over the linemans heads. Turns out it was a high kick that landed softly.
  2. Haven't posted any this year but just been reading. This post tops the guy who thought Upperman would beat SC. PC may very well win this Friday, no one knows. This will probably be the best game in the state Friday night in any class. How could you say that SC could not beat anyone in the top ten in 3a? Look at Bledsoe's scores this year, that should be enough to answer that. Plus SC has beat 2 teams ranked in the 4A top ten. They are much better than they were at the Gordonsville game. Must have spiked the blue kool-aid tonight. My pick - SC - 20 PC - 13
  3. SC got beat, no way around it. Four turnovers in one half vs. PC will get you beat...and even at that we were still in the game at halftime. The point when the game got out of hand was the offsides penalty on the punt when the PC guy jumped up. PC went down and scored then and the flood gates opened after that. I'm not whinning, but that's what happened. PC was quick, but also had the size to wear us down. The defense was very good, especially the front 7. PC has also been very good at causing turnovers, they forced CPA to turn it over 6 times in the playoffs. Also, I did not have a problem with PC's band playing as they went out, they did the same thing last year after a loss. I didn't think they should have stopped on the feild though. In my earlier post, I just mean't that I probably wouldn't have been comfortable watching it with my grandparents or parents, that's just my opinion. I believe the problem is the "classy" winners on here, not the "unclassy" losers. You're right about one thing though, no ones "excepting" the loss.
  4. Pearl Cohn was better than advertised. They are very quick and can run you down at the same time. If they play as well as they did tonight they could very easily go to Cookeville. I don't think the score told the whole story, the teams were closer than the 40 point margin indicated. Like I Love HS Football, the game was not lost by the refeering, but they stood and watched some obvious calls and didn't throw a flag, and then throwed some when they were unnecessary. I agree the PI call was perhaps the most obvious missed call. I also thought their was some disrespect from PC, players trying to get our fans to cheer, the dancing on the field, taunting our players after they got tackled, even the dance at halftime was a bit over the top IMHO. Not to say we didn't return the favor, the best part of the night (sadly) was when our band pulled their best impression of the PC band at halftime and got a standing O. Congratulations on a great year Owls
  5. SC outscored east lit. 29-14 after East. Lit 13-0. We hadn't seen that much speed in a long time and it took a little time to get in gear. PC didn't expect a punch in the mouth last year but got one and never answered back. A couple questions: 1) If everyone always shows up to play, why are east lit. "nobodys" ? 2) We beat East Lit., so why wouldn't we make the playoffs in the nasty ten cents? You get everybody's best shot come playoff time, East Lit. had proved to be a dangerous team, we took there best shot and got back up. This game will be a good one, but the diarrhea of the mouth epidemic goin on at pc ain't helpin 'em none.
  6. This argument does not make any sense. If SC is so bad then why is anybody in Trousdale mad that we don't schedule y'all, sense y'all want to schedule up. No way SC finishes fourth in your region, we done beat G-ville, that would make us at least 3rd. You can't go by who beat who and expect that to be the way it would play out. SC finds a way to make other teams look bad, MC played a very good game, that was the first time they had put two halves together. Upsets happen. I would rather beat WH 9-6 anyday than beat Pickett 60-0.
  7. Serious was strong, but putting up a point total isn't as hard as it has been. TC's running game is great and TC will be right there at the end of the year.
  8. Oh, I forgot MC scored 21 points last week vs. mighty Sycamore. Seriously, Trousdale has serious holes on D, Freindship is down. Goodpasture is tough and y'all did score alot of points vs. them. I don't think Macon's offense is far and away the best we'll see, but it will be one of the best, I know Maynard will make sure they realize MC's offense can be explosive. I still can't see SC giving up more than 2 TD's.
  9. Macon County's offense has put up quite a few points this year against some good competition: -Freindship - Gordonsville beat by 21 -Scored less points than G-ville vs. Trousdale -Sycamore got shut out by Cheatham Co. MC hasn't faced a defense as good as SC's. Face it. As long as SC doesn't overlook a well coached MC team, I see a 34-7 game in favor of SC, give or take a TD from MC. Go OWLS! By the way very odd Homecomings this week, JC made theirs this week vs. G-ville.
  10. The defense is playing really well, giving up just over 3 points per game while those teams are averaging close to 24 points in ther other games. The defense should carry them again in this game. Smith Co. 27 Dekalb Co. 7 Go OWLS!
  11. I agree completely. If those 2 (I assume it was the same 2) were on SC there would have been a benching followed by a chewing for a little while. I think the problem reaches farther than just those two.
  12. Nit pick flags? I thought their should have been a few more late hit calls, honestly, on both sides of the ball. But I thought those basicly evened themselves out. I thing G-ville really has to do some soul searching if they wan't the team to go where they are capable of.
  13. By the way good luck to Gordonsville after Friday night, just because we don't agree for a week doesn't mean we can't get along the rest of the time.
  14. I've heard many excuses over the last few years on why G-ville cannot win this game but really? Some of the players for SC have played both ways and do play both ways. Besides last year, the games have been decided before the 4th quarter. Maybe you all should figure out a way to win instead of figuring out why you all cannot win. I know a lot of good people from G-ville but some of the whining gets kinda annoying. I think G-ville can win but I don't see it happening this year. Owls by 2 TD's. Go Owls!
  15. Good luck to the Owls for this game and the rest of the season. Same to the Cubbies for the rest of the season. The first game it is hard to pick a score but I think SC will when by about 2 TD's (as long as it doesn't rain, of course).
  16. IMO, if Polk or McMinn would have traveled to Goodpasture in the second round, I think they would have lost, especially McMinn. Maybe next year you should schedule some better teams besides SP and TC and you might be prepared to catch Loudon in the 2nd round. Beating up on bad teams by 40 every weak does not get you prepared for the playoffs. BTW, comparitive scoring does not work, SC vs. York there were three weeks and a 27 point turnaroud, and lost to CC by 22, then beat a team by 10 that beat CC by 9, a 41 point turnaround. Doesn't make a lot of sense does it? You can go to the Massey Ratings website if your interested and it will take you through 6 games and tell you Westy beat Riverdale, not happening, but according to your theory it could.
  17. Yes, York was in very weak district. Look at the facts: 5 of 6 teams were in the playoffs 4 of those 5 won their first round game The Quad Final was an all-district affair Your statement that York was in a weak district make no sense. Now there is something that Milan and York fans can agree with. lol For the record, I think York is a fine team. Just to Clear up any confusion, I am not a York fan. York is a fine football team, no arguments there! Milan is also a very good football team though and I think y'all will compete with Alcoa Friday.
  18. Yes, York was in very weak district. Look at the facts: 5 of 6 teams were in the playoffs 4 of those 5 won their first round game The Quad Final was an all-district affair Your statement that York was in a weak district make no sense.
  19. "Lots of great excuses though. 'We did not execute.' 'If it weren't for those pesky turnovers.'" Sounds alot like what y'all are saying about the Alcoa game from last year, doesn't it?
  20. No, our band at SC does it way too much also. In the Pearl Cohn game they played every time we got the ball, and for some reason our band tried to drown them out, there were at least 3 or 4 false starts in the second half.
  21. It was 43-15, but whose counting. What if both teams play like they are capable? You Milan fans need to get y'alls facts straight before you get mad because someone calls you an idiot! I think Milan will keep it closer than most think, and I was going to cheer for y'all, but I changed my mind. Good Luck to Alcoa! 24-21 Alcoa
  22. This thread since the game has been ridiculous, the comment was made during the game that the Milan announcers whined too much, and I agreed completely. However, I did not know that was the way a lot of you Milan fans are. You won and are playing for a championship, so stop complaining! I am not exactly a fan of York or some of the stuff they do, but this is ridiculous. York stayed with y'all in the first half but y'all come up with big turnovers in the second, try to explain all you won't too, but the fact remains York is better than y'all thought. BTW, I realize York runs a lot of trick plays and maxes out the rules, but you can't run a play if the center doesn't snap the ball!
  23. Yep!! Go Dragons! I've got to admit, that hurts a little bit. The Milan radio crew sounds shocked! Good Luck to the Dragons in the second half.
