  1. Congrats to Scotts Hill on their win last night. It didn't come easy, but they got the right breaks in the final minutes and capitalized on them. Tough loss for Middleton and their kids but I know they'll definitely rebound and this may not be the last time we see this matchup. On to the topic of Scotts Hill's fans, I've been as critical as anyone on here of them but the criticism of the cheer after the game is definitely crazy. My team has been on the losing side with Scotts Hill 3 times this season and each time it stings a little more but I see no wrongdoing in it. Like someone said earlier, if a kid can't handle losing he doesn't need to be out there. Scotts Hill isn't the classiest bunch, but I will defend you on the cheer.. The dumping of the water on someone else's floor for the 2nd year in a row was uncalled for though. As for all the bashing of District 15.. I think the top 3 seeds from District 15 can play with any team from District 16, or District 14 for that matter. Be careful on overlooking Scotts Hill, they are a very good team. They shoot as well as anyone in the state I believe. Middleton may be as athletic as anyone. And Adamsville is a balance of the two and have competed very well with both of those teams. Be careful to criticize, District 15 might have 3 teams playing at Trinity next week.
  2. Before I start my rant on this guy I would like to credit Scotts Hill's players and coach on a nice game last night. They played a great game and deserve a lot of credit. They got a great effort from Adamsville but down the stretch they just couldn't ever swing momentum in their favor with a big shot. You have some good kids that represent your school on the floor. Unfortunately you have idiots like this guy who also represent Scotts Hill and overshadow the talented team you have. I've said it before and I'll stick to it, Scotts Hill has the most classless fans of any program I've ever been around. Last night is a prime example. I believe it is perfectly fine for a student section to be up and get crazy. But they aren't the problem. I have no problem with a student taunting a player, the problem I have is with grown men and women taunting a 16-18 year old kid. I saw it all night on the Scotts Hill side, not just from the student section, but from adults and it was mostly directed at AJ Damron. Ever wonder why your kids get no respect? It's because you can't respect anyone else's kids. And scottshillforlife, whoever your English teacher is needs to be fired. I'm pretty sure you are one of the honor students at Scotts Hill who thought you could talk a little trash. Great effort.. Next time find a proofreader.
  3. Bobcats83, you're the fish out of water here. This is an Adamsville-Scotts Hill thread that you came into talking about the way Adamsville's players acted against McNairy. This thread says nothing about McNairy. So unless you wanted to talk about the game between Adamsville and Scotts Hill then chipwood had every reason to defend his team. Since you're on it the thing that seperates McNairy and Adamsville is emotion. The Adamsville players play with passion and emotion and play hard and to win. Coach Austin does a great job getting the most of those guys and they have had a good season so far.. But that same passion and emotion you see come out of the players from Adamsville (and Scotts Hill for that matter) you don't see come out of the kids from McNairy. I know that the program has had alot of internal problems this season. You had one player come out of alternative school for the game Saturday night.. If your program is so classy why is this kid even on the floor?... Maybe those guys from Adamsville come off as cocky and arrogant because they play with pride. They aren't used to losing either. Check out the banners next time you visit our gym. There's a pretty rich tradition at Adamsville. IF McNairy has a little sucess in the future, maybe your fans and players can have something to be proud of and you guys will understand why Adamsville players get so emotional about the game.
  4. Your adult witness that night didn't act too much like an adult herself. As a matter of fact what business did she have back there after a game anyway? All the Adamsville coach did was defend his players and make sure none of them did anything stupid.. I didn't find too much class in the Scotts Hill crowd when AJ Damron went down last night. I actually heard a few snickers and jokes.
  5. Lets hope for a big rebound this week. Friday night was frustrating to watch. Our offense didn't execute and it looked like they just wore our defense down by constantly running at them and putting together some impressive long drives. This week I'd like to see us put the game out of reach early and get some young guys in most of the second half. We're entering that stretch where we need some guys to heal up and be good to go for the first playoff game. Plus, a little added experience doesn't hurt for the future either. This game should be a big Cardinal win but who knows how we show up. This week will tell us alot about how much character we have on this team.. Do you come out flat after your first loss? Or do you show up and make a big statement by beating a team you should beat by a lot?
  6. Both teams should be used to a wet field by now. I know for 2 weeks it seemed like it rained non-stop and both teams played in the same mess. I've heard talk about Adamsville having nothing to prove. And to an extent you are right.. they have won their district and are 7-0. But at the same time if this team wants to show us how far they've came and how good they are beating a 5A school would be the icing on the cake. This game kind of reminds me of a Maryville-Alcoa game, not comparing either team to an Alcoa or Maryville because both are different levels from those programs but I say it to make a point. Many years both teams have came into that game with very good teams, lost, moved on and made noise down the road. Some years Maryville has ran away with the game and Alcoa has went on to win a state championship. Other years Alcoa has squeaked one out and went on to win a state title... Back to my point for Adamsville this is more than a "pride game". We're underdogs but a win would show just how far we've came and the good things that Coach Gray and his staff are doing with this program.
  7. Not downing Steven Rich because I have saw him play and he is a good player. But a closer look at the stats tell a different story. I'm not sure how up to date these stats are but they come from this website ( http://www.matthewb.net/football/tackles.html ). In case you're wondering its the preps editor for the Jackson Sun. Josh Carroll has 69 solo tackles to Rich's 42. While Rich has 40 assists to Carroll's 19.. Just something to chew on. And utfan2, yes you are right. Carroll is undersized but the kid plays with a ton of heart and works his butt off. He has to be one of the hardest working kids I've ever seen. Does the name Rennie Curran ring a bell? The guy is 5'11" 225 and it doesn't prevent him from being a successful linebacker. Zach Thomas was around 5'11".. didn't hold him back. Seems like you are caught up in the thought that you'll never be successful playing at a small school no matter how talented you are. If you're good enough, college coaches will find you. Hardin County has had good D1 talent the last few years. Adamsville, not so.. But this kid is different. He has all the tools to play D1 and be successful.
  8. I can say this much about Hardin County. They won't have a playmaker on the level of what we saw from Jabriel Washington. The best athlete I've saw in years... He was smart as much as he was athletic. If we can keep mistakes at a minimum and hold on to the ball who knows what happens. I hear they like to run it. We've done a good job of stopping the run this year so far. I am a little nervous about our secondary. Trinity did a good job of exploiting our weakness and I'm sure some things will be fixed in practice this week. Hope for a good clean, injury free game.
  9. Big week for respect for District 15-A as our two top teams take on very good 1A programs. Adamsville (#5, 2A) will get Collinwood (#8/1A) While Trinity will meet Union City (#4/1A). Big games in terms of seeing how good our district really is... And while those two who are viewed as the top 2 in 15-A meet up with stiff competition. Scotts Hill will meet Lexington in a game that could be very, very interesting. Riverside plays Loretto and Middleton will meet a West Carroll team that is coming in limping after a pretty big defeat at the hands of Huntingdon. Wish all the teams in 15-A good luck. It would be nice seeing us win those two big games to show that this district is for real before a big district showdown next Friday with Adamsville and Trinity.
  10. This should be a good game. Good luck to TCA.. Both Adamsville and TCA face good 1A programs before meeting up next week for what I'm going to go out on limb and say will be the district championship. Hope for a good, clean, injury free game to both teams.
  11. Sanders had a great game. He is a pure finesse runner and alot of fun to watch.. The defense was great as usual. The offense looked sluggish at times but played well considering the field conditions... Big test this week. Toughest team we've met so far. Collinwood won't come in scared and won't quit. It should be a great game.
  12. This is the first of a big 3 game stretch for the Cardinals. Our competition gets better every week and it's going to be fun watching this team play 3 of the better teams not only in the area but in the state. This week will be the first time we go down a classfication but we'll be playing the best team we've played so far this season. I'm looking for a low scoring physical game. Neither team can afford alot of turnovers. Adamsville has done a much better job this season at times of protecting the football.. We still have to quit trying to force some things through the air though. Not going to make a predicition this week just because I like to know enough about both teams. Looking at Collinwood's schedule and win/loss tells me they are pretty good and good enough to come in and beat us in our house. Hope you guys have a safe trip to Adamsville and good luck on Friday night.
  13. Has nothing to do with anyone out of high school? Care if I ask you a few questions then? I'm sure you'll go look some kind of quote that has to do with being cocky and just avoid answering it but I'll ask you anyway... This comment proves you know NOTHING about high school football. Yes, the student body plays a huge role. But the community is the heart, as evidenced by the last few games where nearly the whole town was in attendence. Those guys are people's kids.. They're people's family.. They're friends. When this team wins the whole community wins, and it was shown last week after the win over McNairy. And if you were one of the students there last night.. big pat on the back. Because unless you are a girl who is posting this stuff I doubt you were there, and if you were I doubt you were yelling like the 10 of them.
  14. I could care less if you post on here. Its a place to share your opinion.. and though I may disagree with your opinion, nobody can stop you from posting on here. Just don't get upset if someone blasts what you think. Like cardfan said cockiness gets you beat. Its fine to play with a swagger but I believe there is a line between cockiness and a swagger... You're right. We're undefeated. THROUGH 4 GAMES! Last time I checked we played 10. 6 more to go and hopefully a couple more after that.. I hope you're right about Adamsville staying healthy. And turnovers do kill.. Its hard to win and turn the ball over alot as evidenced by our win over McNairy. We have alot of talent and this is a special team but we are getting into the meat of our schedule now. If we come out flat on any given night from here out we risk a loss.
  15. I'll say TCA... Big. Good luck to both teams. Looking forward to seeing both of you down the road.
  16. I'm just going by what I've saw from you guys at the jamboree. Which most teams have improved by now from then.. From what I saw Adamsville is much faster on defense and much more physical. Scotts Hill appeared to have a decent sized line but the question is will they be ready for the pressure Adamsville will bring? If all things click for Adamsville this game won't be close. With that being said if we come out flat and still hungover from last week's win then this game could come down to the wire. Scotts Hill is a hungry team from what I hear and they want to make some noise... What better of a statement would it be for them than to come to our house and win? I'm hoping for a good game. Good luck to you guys from Scotts Hill. Hope you have a safe trip down.
  17. Guys please excuse cantstopthacardinals.. He one of the fans we try to hide. Most Adamsville fans respect their opponents and your program.... You'll find that when you guys come down October 2nd. This game will be very competitive. I'm very excited to get to see Jabriel Washington. It should be interesting if he is matched up with AJ Damron. These guys are probably the two biggest playmakers in the district and it will be fun to see them square off. I've heard nothing but good things about your team and it's going to be fun playing in a few weeks. It won't be a 40 point game in either advantage and anyone who has any knowledge at all about local high school football couldn't say that and be taken seriously like this guy wants to be so bad. Good luck to everyone in the district this week (except for Scotts Hill ) and I hope you guys have a safe trip to the 'ville.
  18. I'm looking for a big game from our secondary. Scotts Hill likes to throw the ball and it will be a night where the secondary will be tested by a good QB. Looking at his stats they do show he is prone to throwing a few INTs. Hopefully our secondary steps up and forces some big turnovers. I'm also looking for big things on the ground. It looks as if we have another mix to the equation as Jamel Sanders had a big night against McNairy last week. We can't afford to come out flat.. We need to hit them in the mouth and kill their confidence early. I'll say we come out ready and get up early and never look back Adamsville 45 Scotts Hill 12
  19. We can be cocky after we win a state championship and get those rings. 4 early wins is something to be proud and shows hard work always pays off but they are nothing to be cocky about. We've proven nothing to the rest of the state until we beat a Trinity Christian or a Collinwood. I hope Adamsville fans and players aren't satisfied with being just 4-0. Hopefully it makes you hungier for more success.
  20. 4-0 feels good but we're a long way from where we are trying to get. I'm just as excited as anyone about the team but the last thing this bunch needs right now is fans building them up to something they aren't... yet. We have a huge 4 game stretch coming up. This Scotts Hill game means alot when it comes playoff time and where we will be. Our guys better come out ready because this Scotts Hill team will be ready to play. Its very easy to have a letdown after a big win like we experienced last week.. Lets hope we don't come out flat and put them away early.. And I can also assure the last thing anyone from Adamsville wants is someone giving bulletin board material away to another team. We saw how it motivated our guys to see we had a "fat backfield" or that we had "no talent". Rocky Scott is a great athlete and will do whatever it takes to win whether it be by air or on the ground. He does both very well. If we come out ready to play this game could be a big win in our favor but if we come out flat and let them stick around.. Who knows?
