  1. Peabody should have won last week. They beat up MASE up front last week. It would have been a lot more competitive game had it been at Peabody. But woulda, coulda, shoulda doesn't matter. Congrats to McKenzie. They should bring the gold ball back next week to west tn.
  2. I know they practice it, and work on it most likely everyday. I never said they don't. Coach Miller is a Great Coach and from what I have seen and heard an even better man for his kids. My opinion is that when you have two teams that are extremely good which both of these teams are, a lot of times a play on special teams is the difference in the game. Like I stated it cost us last year and hopefully we can benefit from it tonight.
  3. In saying this, special teams cost us last year against McKenzie. We had a muffed punt and tried a fake punt at McKenzie's 16 last year. Those two plays definitely played a huge factor in the outcome of that game and is very uncharacteristic of the Peabody football team. Going to be fun tonight. ROLL TIDE!
  4. Special Teams. Peabody always has a strong special teams unit in games like this. I am calling at least one blocked punt if MASE even tries to punt. In games like this little things matter and from what I have seen Peabody has a HUGE advantage in the special teams department. Most people do not pay attention to this area because they are so enamored with a teams defense or offense, but as farther you go in the playoffs special teams play a more important role in the games.
  5. Game Day! Been waiting all week for tonight. This Chicago boy loves this weather. This is true football weather. My son even told me, would it not be awesome dad if it starts snowing during the game. I had to then tell him about the greatest football team to ever lace them up and what happened in the NFC Championship with the '85 Bears. After the Bears took control of the LA Rams and Eric Dickerson in the second half it began to snow and a sold out Soldier Field went absolutely insane. This game of football is awesome and I hope it does begin to snow the second half tonight. It is going to be an awesome night of football. Roll Tide!!!
  6. There is going to be a lot of football talent on that field tomorrow night. There are a lot of guys from MASE that are very impressive. I know it has been said a lot this year, but man is 1A loaded. I can't wait until tomorrow night. Should be fun.
  7. I agree. I feel that these two teams respect each each other and it should be a good physical football game. Obviously, MASE is really good and the team that plays the cleanest game will most likely come out on top.
  8. While your asking, how about the injuries for MASE? Any? Please, we really want to know? I promise I will not tell anyone. It can be our little secret. LOL!
  9. I can't say what number, that would be giving you inside info. LOL!! I can tell you have watched film so you can see that he has been very limited this year, but I would imagine that he will be ready for this stretch run.
  10. Our middle linebacker that has been a starter since his freshman year was out. He also has been all state the last two years. His replacement has been great this year, but that was the first time he was on the field. Should be fun tomorrow night.
  11. This is no doubt going to be a great matchup, but I agree that people are forgetting about the other 6 teams remaining.
  12. This game I have a feeling may come down to special teams. Who do you think has the advantage there? Going for 2 every time is great when you get it, but you miss one and your chasing that point all night.
  13. Do you know or have seen Peabody’s line? They have jr. left tackle being recruited by some SEC schools, left guard going to play college football most likely at Rhodes, a right tackle offered by Carson-Newman, center going most likely going to college for baseball, and the right guard going to a prestigious trade school in Florida. MASE may be better, but highly unlikely they are easily better. I know some of the MASE lineman are also going to play college ball, but I highly doubt either side of the lines will easily beat the other. It will be a good physical football game.
  14. Even though I most likely have never met you in person, I have much respect for you. You have had to defend MASE a lot this year about stuff that has nothing to do with football. I would like it if you had the opportunity to talk about football only this week. You are correct, from watching film MASE definitely prides itself on their physical but disciplined brand of football. This is going to be a great game played by two really good football teams and two great coaching staffs. I can not wait until Friday!
  15. We know the task at hand, it is time to get to work. No need to be on a message board when there is business to take care of. We respect this MASE team, but we fear nobody. We have been in situations like this before and have come out on top. It appears the weather will be REALLY cold on Friday night, we have also played in really cold weather before (last year’s semifinal was well below freezing) and the hits just feel different in that type of cold. How will the MASE players react to this, because I don’t think they have seen a team as physical as Peabody will be Friday night. On the other hand, I don’t think Peabody has seen a team as talented as MASE will be, but talent alone doesn’t always win these big games. It is going to come down to who makes the fewest mistakes. Turnovers this time of year will send you home quick. Roll Tide!
  16. I know that Memphis gets a bad rap on a lot of stuff, but I do want to say that last year when Trenton went to play MASE in the substate for basketball it was an outstanding atmosphere for a game of that magnitude. The people and administration at MASE welcomed our fans with open arms.
  17. That is what I thought I saw. One play, your receiver was making a great legal block downfield and all of a sudden it appeared to me that the BTW player ripped his helmet off. It looked crazy and scary.
  18. What happened during the MASE game and Booker T. Washington on September 15?
  19. He is from West Carroll. No sparring between Peabody and Huntingdon because both fan bases have a ton of respect for each other. Wait until next week when we play West Carroll, he will not post all week. We played West Carroll twice last year and they didn’t pick up a single first down on our defense in either game. He bashes everything about Trenton, and when someone asks him why he is so negative towards our kids all you hear is crickets.
  20. Agree 100%. Nothing to badmouth about Huntingdon. Great team with a great history. This game will hopefully fine tune both teams to make long playoff runs.
  21. I was hoping for some reinforcements to join me and finally you showed up. Thank you, but I also think I am a big enough boy to handle myself. Roll Golden Tide!
  22. I am sure the kids from Peabody know what Huntingdon is capable of, considering they handed them one of their three losses in their 6 years of playing football. They are a storied program. We will agree to disagree about certain things. It should be an awesome atmosphere Friday night for the kids on both sides.
  23. I am definitely not Tide 21, two different people. Please answer my question, who has stopped our run game this year? Milan didn’t week 1 and they knew we had to run every play. Instead they chose to do the squib kicks to not give our offense the ball in the 4th quarter. Our offense has evolved and it a lot more dynamic. Again who has stopped our running attack this year? Or for that matter who stopped it last year with the same o-line? You can say they are not as good, that it your opinion, but each one of those kids has evolved and is a lot better player than they were last year. Each team we are playing are showing us different types of blitzes that are not usually seen in high school football but as a whole they are picking them up wonderfully. Three of the five already have college offers so they must be pretty good. With another most likely playing baseball at the next level. Think what you want but again facts are facts.
  24. If you think that Peabody thought they would have some easy rings by going to 1A you are crazy! Everyone that is involved with high school football around this area knew that McKenzie was going to be loaded these past three years. We have known that their Class of 2023 was loaded since they were in the 5th grade. If Peabody wanted as you say "easy rings" (which there is no such thing as an easy state championship) then they would have stayed in 2A. You have been having this discussion for over a year now with the Peabody people and you still have not answered the question of who did the 2A State Champions lose to last year. Their only loss last year if I am not mistaken. Your entire argument is false and I am done arguing with you. I just hope your linebackers next week don't decide to kick our linemen in the balls after we score a touchdown on you guys like they did last year. If it was the NFL they would have been suspended for at least a season. Absolutely no sportsmanship.
  25. Because so many teams have stopped our running attack when we have had an actually quarterback at the helm. If you have watched our games, teams will stack the box because these coaches that are actually getting paid know that our o-line can dominate at any point. So our coaching staff makes the adjustment and throws the ball all over the field. It is the same kids on the o-line except for the younger Meadows and a different running back who is coming along real well.
