  1. What happened during the MASE game and Booker T. Washington on September 15?
  2. He is from West Carroll. No sparring between Peabody and Huntingdon because both fan bases have a ton of respect for each other. Wait until next week when we play West Carroll, he will not post all week. We played West Carroll twice last year and they didn’t pick up a single first down on our defense in either game. He bashes everything about Trenton, and when someone asks him why he is so negative towards our kids all you hear is crickets.
  3. Agree 100%. Nothing to badmouth about Huntingdon. Great team with a great history. This game will hopefully fine tune both teams to make long playoff runs.
  4. I was hoping for some reinforcements to join me and finally you showed up. Thank you, but I also think I am a big enough boy to handle myself. Roll Golden Tide!
  5. I am sure the kids from Peabody know what Huntingdon is capable of, considering they handed them one of their three losses in their 6 years of playing football. They are a storied program. We will agree to disagree about certain things. It should be an awesome atmosphere Friday night for the kids on both sides.
  6. I am definitely not Tide 21, two different people. Please answer my question, who has stopped our run game this year? Milan didn’t week 1 and they knew we had to run every play. Instead they chose to do the squib kicks to not give our offense the ball in the 4th quarter. Our offense has evolved and it a lot more dynamic. Again who has stopped our running attack this year? Or for that matter who stopped it last year with the same o-line? You can say they are not as good, that it your opinion, but each one of those kids has evolved and is a lot better player than they were last year. Each team we are playing are showing us different types of blitzes that are not usually seen in high school football but as a whole they are picking them up wonderfully. Three of the five already have college offers so they must be pretty good. With another most likely playing baseball at the next level. Think what you want but again facts are facts.
  7. If you think that Peabody thought they would have some easy rings by going to 1A you are crazy! Everyone that is involved with high school football around this area knew that McKenzie was going to be loaded these past three years. We have known that their Class of 2023 was loaded since they were in the 5th grade. If Peabody wanted as you say "easy rings" (which there is no such thing as an easy state championship) then they would have stayed in 2A. You have been having this discussion for over a year now with the Peabody people and you still have not answered the question of who did the 2A State Champions lose to last year. Their only loss last year if I am not mistaken. Your entire argument is false and I am done arguing with you. I just hope your linebackers next week don't decide to kick our linemen in the balls after we score a touchdown on you guys like they did last year. If it was the NFL they would have been suspended for at least a season. Absolutely no sportsmanship.
  8. Because so many teams have stopped our running attack when we have had an actually quarterback at the helm. If you have watched our games, teams will stack the box because these coaches that are actually getting paid know that our o-line can dominate at any point. So our coaching staff makes the adjustment and throws the ball all over the field. It is the same kids on the o-line except for the younger Meadows and a different running back who is coming along real well.
  9. The difference between this years Peabody team and teams from the past is pretty simple. How do you stop the receivers from running free? If you play a Nickle defense then they will run it right at you with the same o-line that they had last year, but if you load the box then they will throw it all over the field on you. It is pick your poison. Very difficult to stop.
  10. As a team they are better this year overall, but it only takes a team to be better for forty-eight minutes. To be honest, you lose all credibility because you constantly hate on any team that has a history of success. For you to say that they are better that bodes real good for us because your assessments are usually wrong.
  11. You will find out next week about Peabody when you see them up close and personal. I am not arguing that McKenzie is better but Peabody has the best player in 1A on their team talent wise. Derek Kee is the best player I have ever watched in person. He has all the talent in the world. I have seen a lot of football in my lifetime and he is one of the few that I can say that if things go right he has a legit imitate shot at playing on Sundays. Some of these other players are great players but none of them have his skill set.
  12. I have been thinking the same thing. Not much talk for such a big game. A lot of respect for both teams!
  13. Definitely, this game of football has definitely introduced me to a lot of good people. Looking forward to it.
  14. In all seriousness, whenever this season ends we need to meet up somewhere and just talk some football. I am sure my son would love to hear some of the stories that you could share.
  15. I can tell already you and I will get along great with that Wrigley Field Marque. That looks awesome!
  16. Just because you beat us one time in like a decade without our starting or backup quarterback, it is Milan state champs. Blah, Blah, Blah. It will add a little intrigue to make it a district game again. It will stink that we won't be able to open up the season with you anymore though.
  17. Who is Eagleton and what have they done to think they will be 2A state champs?
  18. Only Trenton team to also go undefeated as 8th graders. Just not in football, basketball played for the state championship last year and baseball finished final four. Special group of young men. When certain schools get a special group of kids amazing things happen. Huntingdon has been there before in multiple sports. Baseball is usually always in the mix going to Murfreesboro, if it wasn’t for your darn cross county team who knows how last year would have played out for Peabody not only in football but also baseball. LOL! It is always fun watching hard working kids competing at a high level in a great atmosphere. Should be a great night Friday night with two of the best programs in West Tennessee battling it out.
  19. Vandy, you have already made your pick, it is a done deal. We don’t have to worry about that. I think we are undefeated when you pick against us. Thank you!
  20. A lot of respect from both sides. People that know football know that this will be a great game and hoping for a great atmosphere. Can Peabody slow down the running attack from Huntingdon, and how will they handle Peabody's balanced offense? I don't see many defensive stops in this game. It could come down to whoever has the ball last wins the game. Peabody will definitely be playing with a lot of emotion as it is their senior night. These seniors have only lost 3 games their entire football careers. Should be a fun game to enjoy.
  21. They whooped us up front on our defensive line. We go three and out and then Huntingdon scores and it took wind out of our sails because we realized real quick that we were not going to stop you all night. If we score first then I think our mentality could have been different. No doubt your offensive line dominated but I think mentally after going three and out and then how easy you guys scored on us it was very deflating.
  22. They moved the ball right down the field running Khalik over and over at the end until they started passing. No one stopped Khalik all year last year. Look at the film, the losses to Huntingdon and McKenzie are the only two games the first series was 2 pass plays and 1 run play, but both ended with 3 and outs to start the game. We start those games with what we did best and I believe the result would have been different in both. You go with what got you there. Khalik was 2x Mr. Football and he didn’t get the ball in the first series to start either one of those games. I guarantee that McKenzie will get the ball in Taylor’s hands somehow the first series in there big playoff games.
  23. McKenzie won. They also won the turnover battle 4 to 0. In my opinion, if Trenton didn’t turn it over 4 times in the semifinal (most of which was self inflicted turnovers) Trenton wins the game. Coulda, woulda, shoulda, the facts are Trenton did turn the ball over and McKenzie did what quality teams do they made them pay for the turnovers. It still baffles me that even with the 4 turnovers Trenton still had an opportunity to win the game at the end. This is a new year with many of the same players on both teams. It is going to be a fun November seeing how this all plays out. Many people are sleeping on Peabody, but I see them finding a new identity. For someone to even ask what the expectation is for this team says a lot of what people are thinking of this team.
  24. I agree, City will bring a big crowd for being 3+ hours away. You also have to keep in mind a lot of people were at the semifinal game to watch Peabody lose since they hadn’t lost a playoff game in over 3 years. The atmosphere in McKenzie or any of the top teams home field will be electric this November as they all know the gauntlet that will be ahead of them.
  25. The facility is really good. Reminder it hosted an epic semifinal game last year with a huge West Tennessee crowd. I am pretty sure City will not bring as many fans as Peabody brought last year. If I am not mistaken it was the Bethel University old field until they built there new facilty.
