  1. Tullahoma's varsity beat Warren County last night 24-0 in one half of football. The Wildcats do return a number of seniors who have started since they were sophomores and some since their freshmen year, so this is a very experienced team. I'm not convinced yet that Tullahoma has the speed to win this challenging region. Marshall County is always very competitive, although the Wildcats trounced the Tigers twice last year. Tullahoma gets Marshall County and Pearl Cohn at home this year, so that is an advantage. It looks like a four-team race with Tullahoma, Marshall, Pearl Cohn, and Creek Wood.
  2. Ah there is nothing like a little trash talk during the playoffs. I love it. You can hear Friday night's Tullahoma-Nolensville game on 93.9 The Duck, 939theduck.com, and the TUA LightTube YouTube channel. I'll take the 'Cats 31-14. Enjoy!
  3. I think I can comfortably answer yes to both questions TTownFan50. The Wildcats will start their starters with the score determining how much each starter plays, and TUA will televise the game on LightTube channel 23. It can also be heard on 93.9 The Duck, LightTube's YouTube channel, 939theduck.com. Enjoy.
  4. So I guess this means Friday's Lawrence Co./Spring Hill winner finishes 4th in Region 4 and automatically advances to the 2nd round of the playoffs.
  5. Tullahoma's secondary is a ball-hawking group that lowers the boom on receivers. The linebackers and defensive line seldom give a QB time to find open receivers. Sure, it could be trouble if the Wildcats run into a great passing team. Is there a great passing team out there?
  6. The Nolensville at Tullahoma contest can be seen on LightTube channel 23 in Tullahoma. It can be heard on the LightTube YouTube channel, on 93.9 The Duck, 939theduck.com, and the 939theduck app.
  7. There is a chance a Tullahoma move to 5-5A would bump White County east.
  8. Tullahoma needs to bump up to 5A and play in Region 5.
  9. The Wildcats should beat Lawrence County, Nolensville, and Maplewood. Sure 10-0 would be great, but we have been there before. The goals and ceiling are much higher for this team. They have a chance to play eight more games, but must take them one at a time with a focus on the big picture. The Wildcats learned last year that you can't overlook anyone. Friday night is the first step - clinch a playoff berth.
  10. Tullahoma has one road game remaining, Oct. 16 at Lawrence Co. A win in Lawrenceburg would secure a playoff berth. The following week the Wildcats host Nolensville. A victory against the Knights would clinch the Region 4-4A title. In week 11 the Cats host Maplewood, where Tullahoma could secure its first undefeated regular season since 1999. I don't see any team in Region 3-4A challenging the Wildcats. Expect Tullahoma and Marshall Co. to play again in the quarterfinals at Wilkins Stadium. If the Cats get to the semifinals, they will host whatever beast from the East emerges. All of those goals are reachable, but the Wildcats must keep the focus on one game at a time and STAY COVID-FREE!
  11. Does anybody have access to a Brainerd roster?
  12. The Voice of the Wildcats does not engage in talking about parents or discipline.
  13. A glance at Tullahoma's remaining schedule is the best indication of why Tullahoma sought this game once it became obvious Spring Hill couldn't play. The Wildcats need to be challenged. Through four games they have not been. Coach Olive has always tried to play stiff non-region opponents when possible. Since Tullahoma always has to play Shelbyville, Coffee Co, and Franklin Co. as non-region, rivalry games, that only leaves them one or two chances to schedule additional non-region opponents each year. Lately those remaining two opponents have been Giles Co. and Lincoln Co.
  14. Seriously? Y'all want to bring this kind of crap into a discussion about this outstanding team? Shame on you. There will always be complaining parents on any level of sports in any sport. That doesn't spell disaster for the team. It's just part of coaching and playing and parenting. Tullahoma will get a really good test this week against Beech. Win or lose, the Wildcats are already in the playoffs due to Spring Hill not being able to play this week.
  15. Never turn the radio off leadfarmer, just find the winning team's broadcast, 93.9 The Duck. I told y'all the Wildcats were really good. Marshall Co. had fine talent against Lincoln Co. didn't they? It is not a talent problem in Lewisburg. I agree that the Tigers will advance at least to the second round of the playoffs. Coach, get the ball to Howard 15 times a game. The talent problem, at least for the remaining teams on their schedule, is in Tullahoma. As in lots of talent. You are wrong BooWhoWiseMan. The difference between losing 21 straight games just 4-5 years ago and starting the season outscoring your opponents 122-33 is far more than one or two players. It is being able to start 22 different young men on Friday nights. That's right. It takes the whole team buying into the weight room and summer conditioning to do that on the 4A level. Nine starters return on the line. 9. #TankLife It takes a solid kicking game to be great. You can have a great kicker, but if the snap and hold is no good then usually the kick is no good. It takes swarming to the ball on defense and getting pressure on the opposing QB. Tullahoma doesn't arm tackle. They knock opponents backward. I have yet to see a weakness in this Wildcat team. The coaching adjustments at halftime have been obvious, with Tullahoma dominating the scoreboard and the clock in the second half of all three wins. So far, the 'Cats seem to want it more than the opposition, especially after halftime. Friday Tullahoma is at old rival Franklin County. Watch it live in Tullahoma on LightTube channel 23. Listen on 93.9 The Duck, TUA LightTube YouTube, or 939theduck.com.
  16. Agreed that this is likely the Region 4-4A title game Friday night in Lewisburg. Tough place to win, although the Wildcats edged the Tigers 14-13 two years ago. Tullahoma still has most of the linemen that played in that game. They are really deep. These teams have two of the best kickers in the mid-state in Estes and Chadwick. Tullahoma QB Ryan Scott has completed 67% of his passes for 300 yards and four TD and the Wildcats are averaging 215 yards per game rushing the football. Marshall County only gained 178 yards in its win over Lincoln County. IF Tullahoma plays up to its potential the Wildcats should win this one 24-14. These teams could very well meet again in the playoffs.
  17. The 95th Coffee Pot game is moved to Thursday at 7pm at Wilkins Stadium in Tullahoma. No on-site tickets will be sold. You must get tickets in advance through the two schools. Normally this game has 5-6,000 people, so tickets are at a premium. Both teams are coming off wins. Tullahoma routed Shelbyville 38-13 and Coffee Co. came from behind to beat Franklin County 21-19. Tullahoma entered the AP Class 4A rankings at No. 8, and holds down the top spot in the S & K Southern Tennessee High School Football Poll. Coffee Co. entered the S & K poll at No. 4. I'm picking Tullahoma, as you might expect, but this game is usually competitive and sometimes surprising. Watch the Coffee Pot live in Tullahoma on LightTube channel 23. Listen live around the world on the LightTube YouTube channel, on 93.9 The Duck, 939theduck.com, or the 939theduck app.
  18. Yes I am still the voice of Tullahoma, but I believe the Wildcats earned that No. 1 ranking after the first week. Who had a more impressive win? Lawrence County won their opening game. They make the poll.
  19. Marshall County hasn't played yet. This poll is only based on what you do this season, week by week.
  20. August 24 1. Tullahoma 2. Warren County 3. Lincoln County 4. Coffee County 5. Columbia 6. Nolensville 7. Shelbyville 8. Huntland 9. Lawrence County 10. Moore County

  23. Tullahoma (1-0) will host Coffee County (1-0) Friday night in the 95th edition of the Coffee Pot. The matchup has been featured in the U.S. Army Great American Rivalry series during recent years, and has been continuous since 1924 except for the war years of 1943 & 1944. The Wildcats have won three straight over the Red Raiders, including a 35-0 shutout in 2019. Tullahoma has won 61 of the 94 matchups between these intra-county rivals, and THS Head Coach John Olive is 22-5 against his school's biggest rival. Tullahoma is coming off a 38-13 domination of Shelbyville. The Wildcats showed no weaknesses after giving up one touchdown drive and a 79-yard TD in the first quarter. Tullahoma's offense scored on big plays, including three of 50 or more yards in the first half, and sustained five-minute clock-eating drives that resulted in points. The defense held the Golden Eagles to 60 yards in the second half. Junior PK/P Justus Chadwick has emerged as a premier high school kicker, booming all of his kickoffs in the end zone, nailing all PAT opportunities, hitting a 31-yard field goal, and booming a 47-yard punt. Tullahoma had two line-of-scrimmage penalties, no substitution issues, no personal fouls, and no turnovers. The Wildcats have good size, experience and speed, led by WR/RB/KR/PR/DB/QB Jakobe Thomas and junior QB Ryan Scott, who each accounted for three touchdowns against the Golden Eagles. The line #TankLife allowed no sacks and very few negative plays, and defensively they slowed Shelbyville's running game. Coffee County ground out a 21-19 win over Franklin County and the Red Raiders have playoff aspirations under second-year head coach Doug Greene. With the brutal Region 3-6A schedule awaiting them, a Manchester win over Tullahoma would inject another boost of confidence into the Raiders. Listen to Friday's Coffee Pot game on 93.9 The Duck, 939theduck.com, the 939 The Duck app, or on the TUA LightTube YouTube channel. Tullahoma subscribers to LightTube can watch the game live on Channel 23.
